Mr. Class Act Roy Williams.......

Man.. some people really can't read...

Save face. If it were Ed Reed.. I wouldn't want him out there either wearing his Jersey.

RE-READ my man. I don't care who it is.

Let it be an empty space on the field.

Roy just happens to be a Sorry Cowboy.. thats all.

Seriously... I said.. nice Gesture... but don't kill the moment wearing HIS number with Roys NAME on the back of it. THATS classless.

Heres why its a slap in the face.

You don't honor someone by wearing their jersey and taking their spot, doesnt matter who it is.

By wearing their number and name you're really drawing the attention to yourself, "Oh look at me, I'm doing this to honor______" Thats notreally honoring someone, thats hogging the spotlight.

ok see now i know where you're coming from, and i can respect that
BTW as a Cowboy fan I AM NOT co-signing the idea(nor do i see it as disrespect), i was just curious to see why so many of yall thought it was a"slap in the face"

what's not to get? you take someone else's number and put your name on it. it's like saying you own that number or you're taking someoneelse's work and identity and stamping your name on it, even though that's not the intended effect.

some of u guys are ridiculous. How is this move in anyway classless? I dont like roy williams as a player, but he seems like a pretty good dude off the fieldand it's a nice gesture on his part. The hate on this board for roy williams is ridiculous. Just leave dude alone already

A lot of you guys are seriously looking into this wayyyyy too much. Roy is in no way trying to do this to get the spotlight. If Taylor's family doesnt havea problem with it then thats all that matters. They know he's doing it as a nice gesture and they'll probably be honored to have someone do somethinglike this for their loved one in his memory.

So all of you can just take your medicine.......

wow people are saying this is offensive????

i dont even know if ST was a better safety than williams.

It's a nice gesture by Roy but...

"Time after time I always told you all that he was the best player I've ever seen," Portis said. "For me to put that jersey on, I can't live up to those expectations. I can't be Sean Taylor, so I wouldn't even try."
-Clinton Portis

This was Portis' quote AFTER debating making the switch from #26 to #21.

I just think that the #21 should be left alone....there will never be another Sean Taylor, and they should treat this honor (pro bowl nomination) as if he wasstill there, and leave his number be.

Instead of playing a man down on the first play, I would have gone a step further; play a man down for the entire game. That way Mini Dawk, aka fake SeanTaylor, aka fake Gibril Wilson wouldn't have to be invited.

people are od'ing on this ... roy knows he isnt as good as ST and he knows that he isnt even deserving of his pro bowl selection ... thats why he feelsobligated to honor ST in some way ... what would i do? wear the #21 with TAYLOR on the back for the first play and do his little hand gesture after the play isover and then go to the sidelines and change into my regular jersey

I totally agree with Rock on this one.

For Sean Taylor's last Pro Bowl game of his life, it shouldn't be taken away from Roy. I can see that Roy has the right intentions, but it is not theright move. 21 Should not be worn by any player on the field. The first play should just be 10 players on the field for the defence, and possibly the #21should be on the helmets, or possibly on the shoulder of the jersey. Either way, his mind is in the right place, but not the right move.

It reminds me of when Amare Stoudemire wanted to change his number back to 32 after the Verginia Tech shooting. His mind was in the right place, but not theright move for the situation.

dudes in here acting like this number%#%+ is a big deal forreal ... its just a number, the dude didnt even wear the number his whole career so relax god damn... its an exhibition game and its not his real team or anything

Obviously this is coming from a person who must have NEVER played Sports in his life. You have to be on PURE Crack to say a # does not matter in Sportsson. They Retire Numbers. Fools pay dudes thousands of dollars for their number when they are traded to a new team. They PLACE numbers of a fallen player onHelmets and Jerseys.

There's one that sticks out plenty... #23... He also switched to #45....but I suppose #23 didn't mean much to people OR that player either huh?

Sit down in a corner and let Grown Folks Talk bruh. You lost ALL credibility to be heard with THAT statement.

Rock ... ... ... you sadden me ... I played for dematha and paul vi ... basketball baseball and football all in the WCAC ... I was fortunateenough to experience a lot of the states through sports and played against some great players (james gist, ty lawson etc...) ... I wore #1 in baseball, #2 infootball and #3 in basketball ... 1 cuz it was my best sport, 2 cuz of deion in college, and 3 cuz of ai ... I remember in baseball for pg county allstars whenthey misprinted me and my mans jerseys and gave me 2 and him 1, I was HEATED and I swear I had an off tournament because of it lol ... but if you relax alittle you would see the point i was trying to make ... this is an ALL STAR GAME with no reflection on team or organization necessarily, you are just NFC andAFC ... people take different numbers a lot of times just so there isnt doubles and what not ... look at the dream team in bball, jordan looked super corny in#9 lol ... but I'm not questioning the sanctity of someones number in sports, I'm bringing to light that this is roys way of showing appreciation andat the end of the day, its just a number ... reality, ST wore it for a few years and although he could have been the best safety ever, he wasnt Michael Jordan...
