As for Darius Miles, who is 14 months removed from his microfracture knee surgery, the message is more hazy.
"He still has a ways to go," McMillan says. "So far, he's mostly been doing one-on-one or two-on-two stuff."

"He's getting closer, but he still has to get in game shape," Pritchard says. "He has to get at a specific weight, and where he can run up and down and not have any issues with the leg."

"He's progressing," Jensen says. "It's kind of how he feels and how his knee feels. Nobody knows except for Darius."

Miles says he's ready.

"It's up to (team officials) now," he says. "I can play. I can practice any day they practice. There's no pain in the knee. I'm ready to go."

Will he push the Blazers to get back in action?

"I've been doing that," Miles says.

Though everyone skips around the issue, part of the Blazers' concern is, with the team playing so well, Miles' return could disrupt the chemistry. He's not exactly been a character guy in the past, and there are questions about how he will fit in.

It seems a long time ago when, in the 2006-07 season opener at Minnesota, Miles collected 32 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots. At 26, the 6-9 Miles - with three years and $26 million left on his contract - has no guaranteed spot in the rotation.

"I'm past that stage of developing guys, in a sense," McMillan says. "Darius has to earn his way on the floor. We won't just put him back out there. Everything will be based on how he plays in practice, and (if he) can beat out a 12th man as far as being on the active list. We'll have to look at that."

Question: When will Darius Miles play? Will Darius Miles play? What is his ideal game weight? What is his weight right now?

EDIT: Maybe McMillan thinks Darius and his whip need to lose some weight and get in shape.

go back to the clippers and re-unite with Qrich

He probably is ready to play.

Nate just knows that he is going to mess up the flow of the team. I dont blame him.

Yea...I think so too.

I wanna see Miles play again though. It seems like its been so long.

as a blazers fan i want to see miles back on the court...but the team is playing so well right now, and i dont think its a good idea to take james jones oranyone out of the rotation for miles..

Seems fair. I hope Miles doesn't become a butthole and starts demanding trades and #%+! if he doesn't get PT. He had/has so much potentialthough, and he's still young.

It really doesn't matter, no team is going to trade for him, especially if he doesn't even get PT to begin with. Any NBA team would be crazy totrade for someone who hasn't seen the court in a few years with that kind of salary. The only logical thing for Miles to do is demand a buyout. And theBlazers hold all the cards since they have no need to play Miles, and Miles needs to see the court to continue playing in the league at an above-averagesalary.

So, pretty much he has to beat McRoberts 1 on 1....

Man word to the Blazers and their sick chemistry...

KEEP THIS CANCER OUT OF YOUR ROTATION ANY WAY POSSIBLE. They got a good thing going they dont need *****ing. That is why they traded a super talented playerand cut the player he was traded for, for $30 million. That and because he was trash. But do not let this man come back Nate, way to go.

EVERYONE is quick to hate on darius and call him a cancer...he was putting up great numbers before he hurt is knee....all it takes is the right situation andto be winning and he'll go from a "cancer" to "misunderstood" like stephen jackson..

I don't see him adding anything more than the other guys. His frame and athleticism is similar to Outlaw's, but Outlaw's jumper is finallyfalling. Last time we checked, Miles still can't hit an open J. Get him out of Rip City!!

This man speaks the truth. Any Blazer fan wanting to see Miles play right now isn't thinking straight. This is the same guy that spit on our last coach andcompletely disrespected him in front of the team. Thats not a team player. Portland is playing TEAM basketball right now and I don't see Darius fittinginto it.

That said, Darius still has plenty of potential. I hope he one day does return because I liked this guy at first. He really needs to prove/show that he willplay 100% everyday before I want to see him on the Court as a Blazer in an NBA game.

real talk. Darius is still a good player and will help the team, dont get all crazy on that last winning streak they had, without darius the team wontgo anywhere, with darius they have a chance

Why do people still talk about this loser? This guy is worthless and I see more threads about him then MJ on his "updates". Can the dude hit a 12footer? Can he go to his left? Can he pass? Can he go in the post and get a rebound against someone his size? Just because he's 6-10 and can dunk andthen bang his head like an idiot does not make him talented. He can't do a damn other thing besides a drive and dunk. He worthless and needs to be letgo. He couldn't make it on the CLIPPERS for Christ's sake. He couldn't do it on the Cavs when all they have is one good player. Anyone rememberhow great Mr 20/10 Zach Randolph was? How's that workin out for New York? But Miles, Darius is going to turn some heads someday? Pay attention people. Quit watching sportscenter highlights thinking this guy is somebody.
