Mike Martz is no idiot...When you have a RB the caliber of FG, You showcase him which in turn opens up the passing game more...
 
WE need to get ocho-cinco out of cincy. They are tired of him there. I would love to have a reciever of his caliber come on over. What other recievers are upfor tradess and or free agency because we need at least 2.
 
with a solid #1 and some O-line help we'll be ok. #1/arnaz/jackson/vd/lelie + gore gets a lot of catches too so that won't be too bad.

you guys think niners will make noise and try to bring another QB in? Maybe compete with Alex Smith (ala Derek Anderson)?

I think niners will draft a WR in the first round , im excited we can finally see some offense next year ...
 
Damn remember when he coached a championship team, twice? Good pickup for the 49'ers, but I think he deserves to head a team as the main coach still

Also, its going to be interesting how the QB situation and the relationship between Martz and Nolan. You have an extremely conservative coach and a mad genius.Then you have Alex Smith and his fragile ego, who I don't think is well suited in Martz QB system.
 
why do 49ers want nolan gone?? this team had no talent when he got there and still has not much talent to work with. with as bad as the team was there wasntgoing to be a quick turn around

Only way i would want them to draft him is if he is still available in like the 3rd or 4th round. He does have a big arm, but without aline.........well...........It will be the Georgia game all over again

I'm happy with the new move. Hopefully the offense will show a vast improvement from last year.

i wouldn't mind Brennan in the 3rd or 4th. They will have a chance to scout them when they coach the sr. bowl again. so if they think he fits what Martz islooking for don't be suprised if they pick him up

We have the Colts first round pick (they traded it for a 2nd last year from us so they could draft Tony Ugoh)
 
just got back from europe to this surprising news. this is most excellent. however, as has been noted in this thread before, we have no offensive weaponsbesides Gore and Davis. let's not forget that kurt warner, marc bulger, and jon kitna (the most recent QBs martz had) have vastly different playing stylesthan alex smith. the OL will get a new coach and hopefully some inspiration. WRs are a must improve. hopefully the pats don't pick up the option onStallworth-- maybe as a thanks to us for their high 1st round pick. Bryant Johnson who has often gone overshadowed by the other arizona receivers is alsoavailable. Bernard Berrian who doesn't have great hands but excellent speed is also on the market.



it's weird.. now the 49ers have 2 extremely arrogant (IMO) people controlling two different sides of the ball now. at least our special teams is great.
