I fully expect them to dominate the entire second half, Peja catching fire like last time in LA with a three point a barrage, West will have a new career high when this game is done. Kobe will shoot the Lakers outta this one int he second half, Hornets win 120-103. Imma leave it at that.

God Bless you for finally showing up.
On behalf of the Laker fans on NT, you da man!

@ Lakerswinning so easily. Did not see that one coming. I thought it was a going to be a tough game. We are just playing amazing ball right now. It is becoming reallyfun to watch Bynum out there. He just looks better and better every game. His post game is also developing. Good time to be a Lakers fan.

I forgot that Vlad was on the team too!

Anyway, although it may change b/c Dallas is up on Detroit right now...

Does this mean LA is in 3rd place? Or is Portland in 3rd (b/c of the divisions) and LA in 4th?

Yahoo shows the 3 divisions, then 4th place with LA. However, I thought the top four were determined, then listed in order of records... ????

Yeah, the top 3 in a conference are always division leaders. If we pass up the Suns though, we will move to #2 in the conference I believe

Aww damn, I can't believe I missed this game. I had basketball practice but when i saw the score, i was really impressed. Another blowout by the Lakers andto one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now, the Hornets. All I can say is that they are really coming along together and everyone is contributing.

The Lakers are essentially the 4 seed right now because they'd own homecourt advantage over the Blazers. I know that every team has injuries, closelosses, etc. to play the "what if" game, but it takes nothing away from my amazement at the Lakers record. I believe I read somewhere thatthey're the third youngest team in the league and that they've played the third strongest schedule. They have two two point losses at home against non-playoff teams and a four point loss against the Warriors due to Kobe's injury.

If you give the Lakers just one of those wins, they'd be the top seed in the Western Conference almost halfway through the season. Who would have thunkit?

Oh wait, they were also 23-11 at this point last season. I remember that a lot of people were stating that they were only playing well because of a friendlyschedule in which they had played a majority of their games at home (20). Well, this season they've played 18 at home so I don't believe that thosetwo extra home games at this point last year really made a difference. Many a Laker fan claimed that injuries played a large role in the wheels falling off(they stayed 12 games above .500 another eight games- 27-15, but finished 15-25) and I believe I read that the Lakers had lost the most starter games due toinjury so we weren't far off.

There were a few of us that asked for patience and minor tweaking unless a major player (KG) could be had.

Many people asked for major overhaul and you can't blame them because there are (were?) probably six teams with starting fives that look better on paper.

Last year, I wanted Bynum to be traded for Kidd and Kupchak to be fired. This year, I'm still looking for improvement, but on a smaller scale and I'msatisfied with the job that Kupchak has done (Fisher, Evans & Cook for Ariza) considering that what might be mistakes (over paying for Fisher, re-signingWalton) haven't had much of an effect on the team.

As happy as I am right now, youth and inexperience still means something come playoff time so I'm hoping that they can keep up this pace and earn homecourt advantage for at least two rounds.

I apologize for wasting your time with my rambling, but be thankful that this isn't LG.net where it would be a new thread instead of a reply in a gamethread.

Don't apologize. Great post.

I believe all laker fans feel the same way. You want to get very happy but in the back of your mind you still remember last year and what happened. One smallmove for another center or power forward we are in there.

bynum impresses me more and more each game, as well as the team..........now i know we arent playing great teams (hornets team tonight is very good) but, weare still winning by large margains and kobe hasnt really shot well......tonight an exception

@ the pacers choking a win against the suns

grant hill just may be the reason kobe bryant gets mvp this season....

Great win. Lakers did not let up when New Orleans made that little run.

Bynum is a beast, he's so dominating in the low post now, his rebounding is ridiculous, and his offense is getting better each time.

I'm proud if this team.

I hate how the MVP is decided by the press. It never made sense to me. I think players and coachs should determine who the MVP is not some guys who have neverplayed basketball and reports a lot of bs for shock value.

The only person from the press who should vote for mvp, is that girl from 1st and 10, Jamiell Hill ( or whatever her name is)

good win... but like some of the rest of you have already pointed out, we were doing this well last year. i feel our team is much stronger this year though dueto the increased depth of our bench. anyway, let's hope they keep this up!

Hopefully they can take care of business in the next three games before some tough games vs. PHX & DEN at home. Seeing as how they've played itshouldn't be a problem... but last year, I would be wary of this. They're proving me wrong, but I'm still not convinced, not until we DON'Tchoke.

However, it really seems as if they're up there, one of the 5 if not 4 best teams in the West, whereas it didn't really feel like that last year.

One of the other things that amazes me is that Kobe has not shot well in a lot of the recent wins... yet the Lakers not only win, they blow teams out. Othertimes, he doesn't even look to shoot (didn't he have only 9 shots one game?) and the Lakers can still roll.
