Greg Anthony just said Chris Paul was the best point guard in the NBA.

one thing jason kidd doesnt do is get his team to win... they are barely at 500 in a craptastic eastern conference
Safe to say he's on a drastically less talented than what Steve is playing with in Phoenix.

1 - Jason Kidd

2 - Steve Nash

3 - Chris Paul

4 - Deron Williams

5 - Baron Davis

6 - Chauncey Billups

7 - Tony Parker

8 - Andre Miller

9 - Mo Williams

10 - There's nobody else that really matters

hes not the BEST pg out on the floor right now, i would say easy top 10 if not top 5..

glue to that n.o. team

I thought this was common knowledge by now!!!

1. CP3

2. Kidd

3. Nash

If I'm starting a franchise, my first pick @ the PG position is CP3.

I agree with Nowtiness on this one. Its disgusting how people overlook Kidd. If Kidd was declining it would be one thing but hes still on an extremely highlevel. Every year since Kidd had surgery we've been looking for him to break down but it hasn't happened and it won't for another 2-3 years IMO.People might say thats crazy but 3-4 years ago if someone told me Kidd would be doing this kind of ++@% now I wouldn't believe it either.

Kidd is the best pt guard in the leagueTo me the top 3 are Kidd, CP3, and Nash...in that order... Kidd and CP3 could avg just as many assists as Nash if theyhad Marion, STAT, Bell, and Barbosa...not to mention the type of offense the Suns play helps his assist total a ton too...they have more possesions than otherteams which means more chances for assists....

Some of your forget that there is more the basketball besides offense...Kidd is WAAAAAY better defensively than both Cp3 and Nash...its the same withrebounding too.....

Nash and CP3 are better scorers than Kidd ....thats it...everything else Kidd is either better or just as good...

id still take kidd right now but even next year i would rather have chris paul. kidd is getting a little old and paul is just on his way up

Kenny Smith's list

#10 Raymond Felton:
My sleeper pick and a diamond in the rough. Playing with so many other young players could somewhat stunt his development. He needs a couple of fundamentallysound vets lining up next to him.

#9 T.J. Ford:
His lack of size hurts and keeps him from being a better defender and having a more dominant presence on the floor.

#8 Andre Miller:
Very underrated and underappreciated. His weight fluctuation from season to season is a knock against him. But when he's in great shape, he's among thebetter point guards.

#7 Chris Paul:
The possible second coming of Isiah Thomas. Once his jump shot improves, he'll move up the list with a bullet.

#6 Deron Williams:
Williams leads the next generation of point guards. Jerry Sloan and the Utah Jazz's pick-and-roll offense may have helped Williams improve hisdecision-making more than any third-year guy around.

#5 Chauncey Billups:
Billups is often overlooked in "best of" debates. But his leadership skills and his ability to get the Pistons into their halfcourt sets makes him akeeper for this list. Mr. Big Shot's clutch shooting also might rank at the top of all the point guards.

#4 Baron Davis:
"The Body Guard" overpowers most of his peers. Davis' ability to fuel the Golden State Warriors' run-run-run offense puts him near the top.If his shot selection gets better he'll move up the list.

#3 Tony Parker:
Not the most dominant point guard left, but he makes the best decisions. The Spurs have become a dynasty and Parker is one of the reasons why.

#1a Jason Kidd:
If Nash is No. 1, Kidd is 1a. And if you put Kidd on the Suns running Mike D'Antoni's offense, we might be calling him the best.

#1 Steve Nash:
The best in the game. His ability to get the Suns into their fast-paced tempo every night is uncanny. Every team's defensive emphasis is to slow the Sunsdown. Most fail. Credit Nash for that.

Real talk what makes Chris paul so much better then Deron Williams? and its a question im not saying he is

I'm wondering the same thing...Why are dudes sleepin so hard on Kidd? Nash has dudes that can hit a wide open jumper and finish around the basketand Kidd has JASON COLLINS who makes [Stephen A Smith] SLAVA MEDVEDENKO [Stephen A Smith] look like an all-star. But seriously besides RJ andVC what scoring machines has Kidd ever had on his team going back to his days with the Mavs and Suns? Please answer this as its a serious question

Chris Paul is having the best season ever for small players in the NBA according to John Hollinger. It's hard to argue with that. Chris Paul is special. He's making Tyson Chandler look like an All-Star.

Yeap.

I've been a Kidd fan for too long to be able to list anyone else in front of him as long as he's still doing the damn thing (and fresh of the firstback-to-back-to-back triple doubles, Kidd is still doing the damn thing), so I won't give a rank.

But I'll say this.

The knock on Kidd is his shooting percentage; leave Paul open and he'll bust you.

The knock on Nash is his defense (and the fact that he thinks flopping is a consistent defensive option), but Paul can get his thievery on, and his defensiverebounding is ENTIRELY more impressive than Nash's. Defensive rebounding is one of the things I love about Kidd's game, so I love it about Paul's,too. Man, a defensively rebounding PG can change the entire game.

Jose Calderon isn't even the best PG on his own team...

Trust me, thats debatable. Right now even without the injuries there about the same except TJ takes more chances and Jose makes less turnovers plusTJ's jump shot is so suspect. But yes he's far better than Mo even with spotty minutes.
Jose> most starting PG's.

I dont think Paul is that much better than dwill...but Paul is a better defender and rebounder than dwill...thats why I give him the edge

Paul has been killing lately, I don't think I would have a problem with anyone saying he's the best in the League right now. Kidd is 2, Williams is 3and Parker is 4 imo. Nash is 5.

The PG is getting deep again. Few years ago there was a drought, much like the QB spot in the NFL.

I just saw a full game from CP3 right now. That kid is a beast. He may not be the best now but he will be shortly when nash and kidd go away. The battlebetween him and williams will be good.

Everybody that has replied to this thread that doesn't believe Chris Paul is the best, please reply again with the number of times you've seen theHornets play a full game.

How many full games I've seen? Enough. He's not better than Jason Kidd or Steve Nash. Yet.
