other than the groin thing affecting him...not really. he still has his explosiveness

I think that's good for his condition. I don't think he has to push his body too much unlike the past of couple of seasons. The more he playson the perimeter the lesser chance of him getting hurt and of course the wear and tear. I really don't miss those days when he had couple of game withscoring barrage, I think I've seen many of it and it is much much better this way that they are winning. I'd rather see five or more guys in doublefigure than Kobe scoring 50 or more and barely winning.

I'm Not Going to lie guys, i do miss it.

However, i do not miss the losing. :/

So i agree with those of you guys saying that winning with team ball > Kobe going off (and losing).

It's nice to see those days where he is locked in though, and he just goes off on a tear and leaves us going

It's not nice to see those days where he is cold and he continues to shoot jumpers and brick all game long.

But Kobe is Kobe guys, at this point you have to realize whether he misses 10 in a row or makes 10 in a row, he is the most cold blooded scorer in the nba, andhe will not back down. Sometimes we suffer because of it, sometimes we overcome because of it, sometimes we dominate because of it.
It is who he is, and it is why he is my favorite player. He is that dude

In Conclusion though, Kobe passing the ball and involving his teamates has made our team a big contender this year, and its great to see us winning as a team. It's nice to see kobe showing real leadership, caring for his teamates, and acting like a big brother. Our bench has more confidence than ever and eventhough a lot of the credit should be given to the players for putting the time in during the offseason, some should also be given to Kobe for his increasedleadership and continued support for his teamates.

True, he did do something in the offseason which was not good, throwing Bynum under the bus. But at this point, hes not bringing any sort of that negativeattention to the team, and all he is focusing on is winning basketball games. That is all that matters.

Kobe & the Lakers =

That's all that needs to be said.

I miss it but nothing beats the streak that the Lakers are currently on.

i miss it. i dont really care if the lakers win, but it was so amazing to watch him go through all those streaks

Not really. If we win more games... so much the better.

If he doesn't win the MVP...

hmm...

They have the same amount of wins, if not less, than did they did last season at this point. But it seems like the TEAM is playing better...and perhaps thatwill be the key to beat the Lakers' infamous yearly mid-season collapse.

The thing is He has no shot at the MVP.

His other stats havnt gone up much and while he is playing much better team ball the past 2 years dwarf this season in terms of stats

Remember these are the same dudes who gave Steve Nash 2 MVP's

Not at all. As a general basketball fan, I want to see Kobe go into his late 30's with the ability to still contribute to a team without relying on havingto constantly score 40+. That's when players truly become GREAT.

Word up.

Jerked ol' Dirty Snake out of an MVP. Can't front.

KOBe 4 MVP

I miss the hell out of those 50 and 60 point games. I wish he can give us a taste in the next game and drop the cool 100 points

The team winning>and individual accolades, but a part of me does miss him throwing up 40+ for 5 straight games and such and averaging 40+ pts in a month, but the Lakers will have better success if we continue to play together, and Bean does look like a master motivator for calling Bynum out, because before that,Drew's work ethic left much to be desired. If the Lakers get 50-60 wins with Kobe averaging 26, 6, 5 and he doesn't win MVP then, he never will.

I really dont want to turn this into a "should Steve Nash have won 2 MVP awards thread," but if Kobe does not win the MVP this year, it is going tocompletely invalidate the MVPs won by nash. Nash won the MVPs because he led his team well, rather than putting up ridiculous stats. If Kobe doesnt win the MVPfor basically doing the same thing Nash did, then it will completely invalidate Nash's MVP awards. They might as well just call them character awards.

I miss the 46.3 field goal percentage he shot last season.

That's it.

He shoots eight percentage points worse in losses, but scores the same amount of points.

While I understand that even misses can work in the Lakers favor because he's still placing pressure on the opposing team, he's got to do somethingabout his shot selection. He's either injured or just off and needs to adjust his game accordingly.

Regarding the MVP, I'd like a Laker to get it every year, but I'm more concerned with wins and losses. Still, if the Lakers finish the season with atop four or five record and it's a close finish, he should get strong consideration based on the talent level of his teammates.

Garnett plays with two other perennial All-Stars.

Billups plays with one other All-Star (Hamilton) and a member of the All-Defensive team (Prince).

Nash plays with two other perennial All-Stars and a member of the All-Defensive team (Bell).

Duncan plays with two other All-Stars and a member of the All-Defensive team (Bowen).

Dirk plays with one other All-Star even though he only got in because of injuries to Ming and Boozer.

Don't miss it one bit.

We all know, individuals do not beat one whole team.

But still, Kobe is the most talented player in this league still, if he wants to go off, he will go off, no doubt about it.

Its nice when he does, but that just means the rest of the team isn't doing their job.

I kinda do but at the same time i dont the teams playin pretty damn good as of late they've beattin the suns twice this season dats a ( big improvement) i remember a time when kobe scores 40 - 50 points against the suns & they lose!!! so as long as they play as a team it takes the load off kobe!!! theywill make playoffs this season

I like that we're winning again, I like that Kobe doesn't have to score 50 points several games in a row just so we could limp into the playoffs and befodder for the Suns.

If seeing Kobe produce super human scoring outputs is your biggest concern, you ought not completely despair. Yes he may have less 40 to 80 point explosions;however, there will still be nights where he gets a hot hand the team will role with that, no matter how talented the rest of the squad may be.

Back in the three-peat era, Kobe had a few 40 point outbursts. During the 2001 Championship Run, he dropped 48 on the Kings to finish one sweep and then openedup another sweep by dropping 45 on the Spurs and that was on a team that went 15-1 in the playoffs.
