seriously... why?

the knicks better not give up their 1st round... not this year.

Because of the CBA. Allowing contracts to expire is not in a team's best interest, UNLESSS they are having financial difficulties. Obviously theKnicks have no problems financial and are making tons of money. If they allow a contract to expire that means they will have no chance at adding anotherplayer for anything more than the exception. That's not gonna do anything. So you try to add pieces and make them mesh.

If a team is CLOSE to being under the cap then you can make a move by allowing a contract to expire and bring in a FA. But not many teams are ever in aposition to do that except teams are in dire financial situations. Think about players who signed as Free Agents with teams other than their own. They'resigning with teams that have been having financial woes and are finally making a commitment to spend some money. The Knicks are in unique situation. They're playing horribly but they're the cash cows of the league..

I think Marbury would have a difficult time making a team if he had to tryout.
When you breakdown his career, the teams he has played for and factor thenet change in win/loss ratio, Marbury looks like a player you acquire when you want to miss the playoffs to get a lottery pick.

With what people know about Stephon now, he might have trouble making a team if he had to try out.

But lets not act like he doesn't have any talent.

The reason why teams don't like him is because of how bad his teams do and how much better they get when he leaves.

steph is good player. if there is a team that needs a point, he will fill a void. people acting like he won't get a job need to cut that out. he's nota scrub. the man can't do anything right in most people's eyes. he was shoot first, and people would kill him. now he's changed, but people (eventhough they haven't seen him play in two years) still have nothing but negative things to say about him. he is our fourth option. we are not running theteam around him. all he does is force feed eddy and jamal.

don't tell me that he is a bad player, or that he's this or that, just say that for whatever reason, you don't like stephon marbury.

Just wait it out and let contracts expire.
when has isiah ever let a contract expire? it's always a trade or a buyout. i don't think he ever has the intentions of rebuilding orgetting under the cap. this is why this rumor has legs.

^^Exactly bro, Steph gets farrr too much hate throughout his whole career. dats why hes all %%%*%% up in the head now. Too much pressure this guy was THE mostscrutinized bball player. He was aggressive and score 1st dropping 22 and 8 and people would critisize him and call him a ball hog and a loser. Than in NY hechanged his game and he gets more $%## than ever, he was great last year, but once again got too much hate so now hes %%%*%% up, and because he had a changedgame peoples said he had no fire and they want that Pheonix Marbury. This guy got way too much hate in his whole career, i feel for ma boi Steph. Thats whywhile he aint at the top o his game right now i wont talk $%## bout him, its really not his fault.

word.

and real talk, the knicks have been on tv once in the past three seasons. no one has seen steph play, yet everyone loves to criticize. watching sportscenterhighlights =/= watching s.a.t. prep with clyde on the mic on msg.

it's not the same.

i liek steph a lot, but it seems to me that nate is being groomed to take his spot, and that might be happening sooner than later.

Knick fans have to remember what Stephon Marbury said about Larry Brown. He was loud and proud with his public criticism of Larry Brown despite the fact thatLarry has long and proud history of his own that show his methods work.

Larry is well known for benching starters to mix up rotations to best utilize their talents in bursts. Larry Brown benched the starters at UCLA and they stillwent to the Final Four that season.

These events are what permanently condemned Stephon Marbury in my book.

I guess when you say you are the best PG in the league you shouldn't be scrutinized.

please. nobody scrutinized, people were and are just straight up hating, and then when there's nothing to hate on, they reach for something more. it'schildish.

so what if he said he was the best pg in the league? what do want him to say? that's he's second or third best?

allan houston said that he was the best shooting guard in the league in 2000, and nobody cared. people don't like steph, so when he says the same thing,it's hate.

the man is a 15 point per game player. he doesn't deserve as much attention as some people give him.
