No More East vs West in the All Star Game.

After looking at the last vote update for the All Star game i dont think this would be too bad of an idea.

IThe fact that the backup centre for the east will most likely be shaq (14and 7) sheed,(12 and 7) or Z (13 and 9)

Either it could go entirely on fan voting or continue with fans for starters and coaches for reserves.

For all fan vote:

Top 4 centres

Top 10 fowards

Top 10 guards

For the current system

Fans vote starters

Coach vote reserves

Top 2 centres

Top 6 forwards

Top 6 guards

After all players are selected Coaches flip a coin and choose teams blacktop style (keeping in mind the allotment for players at each position.2 c's 5f's and 5 g's per team)
 
It needs to be USA vs. The World, like the NHL does. It's an international game so make the All-Star game reflect that.
 
it dont matter, any format, someone deserving gets left out. its just how it is.

East vs. West is a classic and there is nothing wrong with it. No matter what happens, someone will get left out.



The only time there was any argument to the formula was when Jamal Magloire got in over LeBron and that was due to the position restriction, not the gameformula.

The only way this woulld be anything close to interesting would be if Kobe was born in Italy and opted to represent World because of that. That would be theironly chance... ... ...

no KB was born in Philly.... then they moved to Italy because his dad was playing overseas.... then moved back to Philly.
 
First of all, I think World vs USA NBA allstar game is a bad idea, as for the world SG....Ben Gordan.
 
I just wish, they picked deserving people. Not Yi Jianlin.



People who deserve it. I mean i know you leave some people out but still.
 
^^^That's what you get when you let fans vote for starters. I actually think YI was left off the ballot just because China would vote him in as a starter.I think he still has a ton of write in votes anyway. It is just a popularity contest. I don't think fans should vote at all.

I hate how fans vote. Its complete bogus. This way, next year we are going to see Yi as a starter. And Gil has 500,000 votes this year, and has played like 3games. The all star game, IMO, should focus the best players, not the most popular.
 
Dudes complain about this every single year. Who cares, its a friggin mickey mouse all star game, absolutely nothing is on the line. 98% of the time the gameis garbage anyways, the last decent ASG was in Jordan's last season and the highlight of that game was Mariah Carey's dress.
