Caron Butler is very underated

My fantasy team appreciates Caron...

keep it up.

For all the nay-sayers thinking that Jamison doesn't have a chance at making the ASG, take a look at his #'s.

21/11...he could be shooting a higher FG%, but he settles for a lot of jumpers because he isn't a classic banger down on the low block. He is up in allcategories at this point in the season in comparison to when he made the All-Star game back in 05' (he was averaging 19/7). Playing "defense" isnot a pre-requisite for making the All-Star game, and that should not be held against Jamison. There are PLENTY of lazy defensive players who have made theteam before. Garnett and Bosh are locks for the forward positions, but I don't know who you would put over Jamison on that roster from the 4 postion?

Back to Tough Juice....this dude means EVERYTHING to the Wizards. He is indispensible at this point. Who would have known that when we stole him from theLakers, that Caron would develop into the leader that he is today? This guy gives 110%, and is just entering his prime. I hope he remains in DC for theremainder of his career. I remember back to the 02' NBA draft and the Wizards REALLY wanted Butler. He got picked at #10, and we had to "settle"for the bum Jared Jeffries. It's funny how things work out. We ridded ourselves of a horrid player in Kwame Brown, and totally fleeced the Lakers for acornerstone of our franchise in Butler. As I've said before, as he goes, so do the Wizards. IT'S HIS TEAM! No disrespect to Gil, but I love thedirection this team has gone in his absence. There has been more of a commitment to defense, and you just never know who will be contributing off the bench, from the starting 5, etc etc....This is a different team when #0 is in the lineup, but I woudn't be too upset in losing him and totally building aroundCaron. This team has been on a roll since starting 0-5, and IMO Caron Butler should get a vote or two for MVP (of course he isn't going to win).

We have 2 all-star in our team. Butler and Jamison. Both are playing exceptional bball right now. Jamison is averaging a double-double right now, and Caron isjust that "Tough Juice"

when and IF Gil comes back from his injury, he'll have to play 6th man and work his way back to the starting lineup.

my home team is straight ballin

A lot of NBA players say Caron is our best player, it's still Gilbert's team, but we're nothing without Caron.

I agree he should get a few votes for MVP, not aying he should win though.

Caron Butler is appreciated. Dude had a rough childhood, and a rough time growing up. Im glad to see him have the success he is having this year.

Caron Butler should be damn near a starter in the all star game this year. Hopefully the coaches realize how good this guy is. Im sure they will

^I'd say Caron is a better midrange shooter than Gil is.

And

did you see that 18 footer that Haywood hit near the end of the game tonight? That stroke was smoooooth lol

^Oh goodness no. Hehe. Caron Butler is a really good player which the Lakers should have never traded away.

i've been a big fan of dude since college. him and Chris Wilcox are 2 of the only players i've ever genuinely been upset about leaving college early.(
smh.gif
if only Wilcox had grades and could've stayed, that extra year or 2 of college would've REALLY helped)

my boy swore he would be a bust, and was pissed when the Wiz picked him up. needless to say, his opinion's changed...

Everytime i watch this dude play, it makes me like him more and more. Hes got great game, i love the way he plays. Hes just so fun to watch and hes very verygood. Starting to become one of my favorite players in the league.

Maybe its my bias, but people really put RJ and Caron over Pierce? I know no one will agree with this, but I think Pierce is pretty even with 'Melo if notbetter. His Defense is far superior to his. And Melo's offensive game is more deadly/ efficient. Again, just my opinion.

caron was the all star team last season...imo this guy is overrated, u guys need to pay attention to jason richardson

i think Caron ended that discussion in the last Celtics game. him and Pierce were on each other the whole game, and Caron won that matchup. and he LIT Pierce up in the last minutes of the game. he was completely blowing past him and basically having his way, he left Pierce on his+@!+ for some of those plays. defensively he kept him a non-factor at the end of the game.

right now, Caron has surpassed Pierce

From today's WaPo...

The entire league now knows: Butler is not a No. 2 player anymore.

He's a franchise player substituting for another franchise player, and as long as the Wizards are going good -- they're currently the fourth-best team in the Eastern Conference after an 0-5 start -- even a shoot-from-anywhere, three-time all-star is willing to cede some time and the ball if this mix keeps gelling so well.

The numbers don't do Butler justice. What illustrates his rise in the mind of NBA observers is what he did to Quentin Richardson last night after Richardson dropped in a plethora of three-pointers in the first half, finishing each made basket by banging his fists off the front of his forehead as he pantomimed the horns of a bull.

Butler got sick of it, imitating "Q" at the end of the second quarter, half-smiling as he banged his own head with his fists. "I had to get under his skin a little bit," he said. "He was making too many shots."

What explains Butler's rise is going back at Paul Pierce last week after his counterpart at small forward for the Celtics began talking. Butler finally gave Pierce back some of his own smack, saying: "I'm being honest, man. You can't guard me."

Clyde thinks Butler is a top 15 player inNBA

I agree 100 percent with Doublej's 100 percent.

Tough Juice and Soft Juice(Jamison) should be all-stars.

Now on to the Pierce stuff. I'm a big fan of Pierce but he isn't better than Butler anymore. I remember a few years ago when Pierce ate up Caron andhit a game winner in his face. Now Butler is doing the same thing to him. Caron has passed him up. Plus Butler is younger and will keep improving while Piercebegins his decline.

Top Sf's in the NBA

1.Bron
2.Melo
3.Caron
4.Pierce
5.Josh Howard

Caron held it down today. 10-20 FG, 25 pts, 9 rebs, 5 assists, 5 steals.

It will be a travesty if he misses the ASG.

Jamison? No.

Caron is the Wizards now, not Jamison, not Arenas, Caron has been this team since Gil got hurt last year.
Can't argue with that
