It's day 2 of the 2008 Australian Open. Who's watching? James Blake's match is about to start. Then Venus Williams, then Roger Federer.

Hopefully Nadal breaks through this time. He plays well on slower hard courts, and the Aussie Open is definitely slower than the US Open. If Nadal does not winit, I hope Djokovic or Roddick does.

I haven't watched yet either
smh.gif
, but I will.

This tournament ranks bottom out of the top 4 imo. That plus the fact Murray is already out equals a no watch. Hopefully Djokovic has a good one though.

I keep telling myself at the beginning of every year that Roddick will finally pull another one out...not this year. It's a tough draw for both sides thisyear.

Let's go Hewitt. Back when he won his first grand slam (US OPEN in '01) I went to like all of his games by coincidence ( I had access to a suite thewhole tournament

). In his 3rd round match his parents were in the same suite and we shot that +$*#... I ended up in the players lounge. Dude (Hewitt) iscrazy chill, funny@*+% dude too.

P.S. I really miss Guga (not that this was his tourney AT ALL, but him at Roland Garros was

)

When I was younger I used to follow Mens tennis religously, but now ehhh

for some reason Women's Tennis is more enjoyable, and its not even because of the sexual aspect.

Federer v. Nadal final with Fed winning yet another. I'd be very surprised if this doesn't happen.

Look for Sharapova on the women's side, she plays well in this tournament and I can see her breaking through to the semis relatively easy this year.

That makes sense. My boyfriend says he likes women's tennis better because it's less power shots and more actual play- unless, of course, you're watching Serena Williams.

I hope so.

Watching this open is frustrating because of the time difference. I'm not trying to watch tennis at 3 o'clock in the morning, unless it's for JamesBlake, as it was last night.
It's on at 3 PM today, for those wondering.

That's a joke

... ain't nobody looking for Sharapova. Shestands no chance in her side of the draw. NONE. Especially after I saw her play last week.... Venus tore her to shreds.

Either Venus, Justine or Serena win this. After looking at the draw a few days ago, I gotta call a Justine/Serena semi and a Venus/Chatvedezve (sp?)

If Sharapova wants to win She'll have to go through Davenport, Justine, Serena, and Venus. That's a tall order for anyone.

Only a replay though.

Granted, I didn't see it at whatever o'clock in the dead of night.

Right, right.
Australian Open Goes Down To The (Under) Wire
Thankfully, the LONDON DAILY MAIL is keeping us abreast of the Australian Open (OK, we're a day late), and we're happy to report that there isdefinitely some interesting, uh, news bouncing around Melbourne.

Austrian Tamira Paszek is the talk of the tournament so far, thanks to her near opening-round upset of 3rd Seed JelenaJankovic, and "lunging around in a flimsy vest and straining sports bra (that) would have left many venerable members of the All-England Clubchoking on their strawberries."

We hadn't noticed Paszek until the Brits brought her up. So we endeavored to find a few more photos of her - for confirmation's sake only.

It turns out that Paszek's performance against Jankovic wasn't a fluke. She's anup-and-coming singles player, who already has a well-decorated career as a junior. She's still a tender 17, but in the tennis tour dog years, she'salready a full-grown woman. In more ways than one.

Best breasts in the game.

Seeing those things bouncing around I didn't want that match to end. Well atleast Sania Mirza is still in the tournament

Of course I got Federer winning this title. The match i'm looking forward to is the possible Federer/Nalbandian semifinal. Though there's no guaranteeNalbandian will make it out of his quarter of the draw. That quarter is ridiculously stacked with Djokovic, Nalbandian, Ferrer, Hewitt, and Baghdatis all beingin that section.

Federer is a beast. Used to hate him when he just turned good but now you just can't help but respect the man.

If you're not watching this Roddick-Kohlschreiber match, turn it on NOW. Unbelievable tennis being played.

Kohlschreiber... Looks like he could be this years Baghdatis or Gonzo. He definately has the momentum by winning this match and coming into the tourneywinning Auckland.

@ Roddick... Not a good way to start the season. Well atleast he can earn some points at the French (good luck with that

).

Anyone watch the Nadal-Simon match last night? I was getting pissed watching Nadal in the first set. He went down a break and reverted back to clay-courttennis. I mean he's probably the most clutch tennis player out there, he saved at least 4 set points in that fist set after all. But he needs to try tofinish points earlier. One of the commentators said something to the effect of "Nadal was in full prevent defense". He needs to use his inside-outforehand a lot more and try to hit the ball a little deeper. It's not like his shots don't have a lot of room for error. That topspin is insane. Istill see a lot of his shots dropping inside the service line though. That's not going to cut it against Federer, Djokovic or Ferrer, especially on hardcourts.
