LeBron- 51 pts, 9 ast, 8 rebs.

Oh and another point Kobe has done this in an equal opportunity offense. Yes he has the ball more often than his teammates, the offense ran correctly like ithas this year assist come from any position.

Kobes assist numbers are never real high unless he goes way outta his way to pass the ball. The Cavs offense is stand still and let Lebron find you or scorehimself. There is no movement but from his hands. Want to prove me wrong? Check the stats on the Lakers high assist games as a team you will see 2-3 guys with7+ assist in one night and the team over 30 with all 5+ players in double figures.

If people want to factor in little things about Lebrons ballooned stats lets do it for Kobe to be fair.

It does help in rebounds when you are 6'8'' 240.

I'm sorry but until Lebron is all defense year after year like Kobe....they aren't on the same level...there's more to the game than scoring...Kobebeing an All League defender is more valuable than him averaging an extra 3 or 4 more rebounds a game....

Great stats. Hes not touching MVP altho hes coming close considering he has been putting up monster #s lately and getting Cleveland the wins. Cleveland needshim to pull thru like this to win with the team they got right now. Still sad that Kobes been winning games with big #s for years with a team crappier than theCavs and still cant get an MVP. If he doesnt get it this season or next Kobe will b the greatest player ever not to win an MVP. Lebron Got an MVP on lockwithin the next 4 years.

2003 Kobe- 30 near 7 and 7. So quiet please.

Kobes had multiple triple double games in a row, close to triple doubles with 50+, very efficient 50-60 point games, had 15 boards twice, had over 12 dimes a few times, 20+ the 4th quarters numerous times, 55 in a half, and the list goes on.

Like I said until Lebron or anyone does something Kobe hasn't done, quit making post believe in your short hatred memories that he has not.

Cuz you get owned.
Kobe extremist/LeBron hater at his finest. 30.0 ppg on .451, 6.9 rpg and 5.9 apg is not the same as 29.8 ppg on .487, 7.7 rpg and 7.5 apg, inless minutes BTW. 0.8 rebounds AND 1.6 assists more ain't peanuts. LeBron is a more well-rounded player than Kobe ever was and doesn't rely on hisscoring alone to dominate a game. Also, you brag about Kobe grabbing 15 rebounds twice (his career high in rebounds BTW), but just the other day, LeBron had19.

I wasn't bragging partner I was making a point because of the thread when Lebron grabbed 19 boards people are like Kobe never grabbed that many. No hehasn't but he's 6'6'' and played with Shaq most of his years so he's not getting 19 boards.

I'm not a Lebron hater but I like to keep Lebron where he is and not in a historical sense because he hasn't done nothing yet. Can we confirm that asobjective fans? Besides putting up good numbers and leading a team to the finals in the weakest eastern conference since the early days of the NBA.

Probably the early days of the NBA was a tougher conference than the east was last year.

Kobe has dominated games without scoring. Yes, Lebron has done it more consistant but he's a different player with a different role.

Your Lebron extreme thinking/Kobe hating is always at it's finest. I'm always objective with Lebron and to say he's on any type of historical levelwith other legends of the past is ridiculous because he's simply hasn't done enough in his career YET and who are we to tell the future?

why even make this post? He won't be the MVP, and if he is....it'll be nothing more than Class A favoritism imo.

I dont think the lakers could have beat last years finals spurs the finals team where tony parker for some odd reason starts to shoot 70% from three. I dont think many championship teams could. And when lebron plays them he has to go through it while having varaejo on his team and for this particulary series the refs. It could very easily had been a 2-2 series but lebron got tripled with 10 seconds left and decided to give it to varejao expecting to get it back so he could go try and win but no varjao drives and throws it a million miles per hour off the backboard and when lebron goes up for a three the next game while bowen intentially fouls him but he doesnt get it and loses. I mean im not gonna dwell on it still lebron lost and everything. But i dont think kobe should be better cuz of that and i dont think lebron should not be MVP because his team sucks. and thats why i hate the NBA and cant i watch it anymore unless im watching lebron and now the pistons and celtics. But im not trying to get in over myself but theres so many things that bother me about the NBA to the point where i cant watch it. But i love basketball so im stuck watching the worst run league ever made the NBA until march madness where theres good college games ugh. o well i love lebron others love kobe we cant get through to eachother so it should stop il accept what others think

That is one of the dumbest most ignorant statments I have ever heard. To say that shaq did most of the work is just plain stupid and as a person who claims tolove basketball you should have known better then to say something that stupid. The Lakers always have been and always will be a team.

About the whole kobe lebron thing. Kobe is great. Lebron is great. Why can't we just appreciate what they do with trying to say who is better? Kobe has 3rings. Lebron doesn't have any right now but you never know. Once his team gets him the help he needs they could do what the lakers and bulls did and threepeat. I am just glad that I got to see both of them play in my lifetime.

man i tried for a whole day to login to comment. cliffnotes:

theres 30,000 LA fans on this board and 6 cavs fans, the only ones posting regularly are myself and outacontrol. this was the game post, a summary since no oneelse made it. theres laker posts every day so its not like this was made instead of a game post, there was no game post.

lebronless cavs <<< kobeless lakers

lebron > NBA now

kobe or lebron now is a toss up, they are both amazing. top 2 in the L. id still take bron now d/t his age.

laker fans get salty when anyone even thinks that there might be one greater than mamba.

bron still needs a reliable #2 option and itd be a wrap. MJ couldnt do it w/o pippen, shaq/kobe, lebron/??

with or without chips, lebron will be one of the greatest to ever play. hes only 23, when its all done, he might be the best, who knows.

We need Redd.

It pains me badly to watch $60+ million sit on the bench during clutch moments. Larry is less than worthless. He starts and thats it. He has no positiveimpact.

I feel bad for LeBron.

smh.gif

i 1/2 agree with you. i dont feel bad for lebron, hes 23 and livin the life for real. no cares in the world.

i feel bad for the team and the fans tho, cause if DF doesnt make some moves, bron will and it wont be in cleveland.

what do you think about arenas ^^?? he said hed play for less to contend, im sure he knows him and lebron could do some damage in the east. i wonder if hed behealthy tho. id hate to make that our blockbuster trade and he cant play due to injuries.

OKAY HOLD UP

I wasnt going to say anything at all but now im just dissappointed in my fellow NTer's ...again...............

instead of coming in here and appreciating the UNBELIEVABLE game that Lebron played, this thread has turned into a kobe vs lebron thread. I am so sick of this. Why cant people just appreciate the talents of these guys. Of course I understand the need for debate and argument in relation to the talents both playerspossess, but apparently in Niketalk that is not possible without bringing in very noticeable bias and subjectiveness.

LBJ is a freak, otherworldly and supremely talented, yet some of us turn this into a Cavs vs lakers or lebron vs kobe thread. Get the !*$@ out of here withthat nonsense. You cannot compare these two players. They are unique in their own way. Kobe is a machine, a fierce competitor who takes losing worse than anyother player in the league in my opinion. He is top ten alltime, and Lebron will most likely join him in there at some point as well if all goes to planned.

So instead of crying and moaning about your respective cities, and teams, take the opportunity to see what these guys are doing. Kobe and Lebron type playerscome only once in a while yet ....

NT is talking like two elementary kids in a park bragging about which one of their dads is cooler and has more things....

im out PEACE....

Only 6 Cleveland fans on this board huh, I feel bad for you guys because LeBron is jumping ship at the end of his contract.
Pointing out the obvious but,
Cleveland - small market
New York - biggest market in the World

When LeBron goes to Brooklyn or the Knicks, he will be considered #1

P.S. (word to Ska)
If you don't think LeBron is leaving, then I don't know what to say to you

Yeah, I meant LeBron shoulders the load EVERY NIGHT.

Arenas would be nice IF and ONLY IF he's healthy. No more Larry Hughes type stuff. We dont need anymore Washington-only stars.

Why are you saying that people don't realize what he did? Because people are saying that he won't get MVP
Jehlers02:
that and when kobe drops 40+ its suddenly 10 times more amazing but when lebron does it its just good game plus 9 assts 8 rebounds. which ppl forget about its dam near a triple double. ik he didnt get one but 50-10-10 in one game would amaze me. he was 1 ast short and 2 rebounds. idk maybe its just me. this is why hes by far my favorite player

There's something you're not understanding, though: there is a reason it is in LeBron's Nike contract that if he goes to CHI, L.A., or N.Y., Nike will double his contract. The reason Nike has that in there is because they know that if he goes to those cities, he will... WILL... draw more attention, more praise, and (for Nike) more money.

The reason more people talk about Kobe's 40 instead of LeBron's 50 is NOT because Kobe's 40 is more impressive. The reason people talk about Kobe's 40 more is because any star player getting 40 for the Lakers IS GOING to draw more attention than a star player getting 50 in CLE.

Nike knows that, but it doesn't seem like you do.

And I have a feeling that you might think this is just my opinion, but it's not. It's a fact. That's exactly why it's in LeBron's Nike contract. I'm telling you, if LeBron was a Laker and dropped 40 and Kobe was a Cav and dropped 50, you'd be complaining about why Kobe isn't getting any attention, and the answer would be the same; L.A. has more pull, so any star that does anything in LA is going to draw more attention than a star going off in CLE.

people fail to understand this...Lebron WILL eventually end up in those 3 cities sooner or later. If you knew the buisness side of sports. You'll knowthat if Lebron wants the praise and attention that he can/potentially get. He will go to those 3 cities.

Okay, I am TIRED of hearing this. If this is so true, someone show me some proof. I need to see that this is not some urban legend. Its gettingout of hand.

LeBron can bring the market to him. He's that influential. It's not by mistake that he is as popular as he is when he was born, raised and drafted inNE Ohio.

Your only going to see an MJ once in your lifetime, and Lebron wont be anything like MJ. Lebron wont have the dominance as MJ did. Plus his work ethic isntanything like Kobe's or MJ's.

I'm willing to bet you any amount of money LeBron will not be in Cleveland after the 2010 season(or whenever his contract runs out)
Plenty of insiders at Nike have said this many times on NT, I believe Espn reported this as well

how do you know lebrons work ethic?? do you sit in practices? just because you dont hear stories of lebron fighting with teammates in the lockerroom or yellingat them all the time doesnt mean he doesnt have passion or a hardcore work ethic.

as much as id hate to see it happen, it wouldnt surprise me if lebron leaves in a few years. he likes the big lights, hes gonna go if he wants. id hate to seeit, but i wont say it wont happen. i posted before a friend of mine is a friend of revenues (1/4 horsemen) and he said bron would sit out training camp nextseason and do whatever if cavs arent making trades or going in the direction he wants.

no ones cryin bout their cities man, we're just rambling about what we see. we wont see a jordan again, obviously, and we wont see a lebron again either.why do you think i bought season tickets when bron came aboard?? now that doesnt make me bandwagon because ive been going to a few cavs games a year since themid 80s. im 25 now and make enough bank to buy the whole season, so i did and have been going to most games the past few seasons because i know that fact. iknow we wont see a player of lebrons caliber in the NBA again and since he lives/plays 30 min from my house, on my team, you better believe im gonna be sittinga few rows off the floor watching.

- peace -

i love it when people talk about work ethics here...and what are you doing productive compared to them?
dude is already killing with his work ethics, if he even tried kobe work ethics, he'll demolish this entire league.

but guess what?

he is already doing that.

So the solution is to not work to achieve full potential? That's ******ed. IF we are gonna say he's better then he needs to be better which heobviously isn't to interested in anyways. Like dude said before what has Bron done that Kobe hasn't or couldn't already? Now flip that question.Who has more answers? End of story.

Do we need to know the business side of sports or do we need to be a Knicks fan?
