New ESPN Mock draft

LET me edit that...

The highest Ray Rice will go would be 4th back taken... there are other backs who could knock him down to 6th-8th taken in the draft.

Yall think that highly of dude? He's good, but he's got a TON of miles on his legs already, he's slow, he's small... I'm notconsidering dude before the late second or third round if I'm a GM. I like Jones, Johnson and Davis better than Rice.

I should have said "the highest he'll go is 4th RB taken"... I like Jones and Davis more than dude, also.

x 100000000, i really want the seahawks to drop this bum alexander and pick up washington native, JonathanStewart

as a raiders fan I want Dorsey, we dont really need McFadden if Fargas wasnt a fluke and Rhodes stops gettin high but we cant really afford either of them, weneed to trade the pick and build up that o-line

Yo as biased as I am for Ray. (no JRAIN) I know he is a good back but he aint going higher then round 2 AT BEST. He really has no upside like alot of the otherbacks do and he isnt gonna blow people away at the comine except maybe on the bench.

However, he has all the intangibles (in that Mike Hart sorta way) to be a productive player but aint nothing sexy about how he plays the RB position. He woulddo wonders in a scheme where he can make one cut and get downhill but unless someone falls in love with him players with little upside do not go high.

One of my boys was like "yooo he going right after McFadden" I was like you stupid.
11. Buffalo Bills
Record: 7-9
Scouts Inc.'s biggest needs: TE, CB, WR, LB, DT
Projected pick: DeSean Jackson*, WR, California
Jackson could join forces with former Cal teammate and current Bills RB Marshawn Lynch to give Buffalo one of the most exciting young offensive skill groups in the NFL. Jackson still has room to improve as a route-runner and he must get stronger in order to endure a 16-game NFL schedule. Much like Ted Ginn Jr. (No. 9 overall to Miami last season), however, Jackson's home run ability after the catch, on vertical routes and returning punts will be too tempting for a team with a top-15 draft pick to pass on.

I like the pick but i still say we need help on defense first.....

he wants to get payed Champ Bailey money and the Pats see him nowhere there...so he'll most likely be gone

I wouldn't mind having him around because he is a good CB for the most part but this year he's been getting beat by being too aggressive sometimes...hehas to play it smart a bit more, but he's definitely appreciated because he steps up in big games and will make the INT when we need one (hi Peyton

He already is making Champ Bailey money.

I guess Im the only one who likes Ray Rice. He is sooo nasty its not even funny.

naw ray ray nice but they ran him to death he needs to go to a 2 back system

At first I don't want D-Mac to be a Raider, but I guess that will be fine with me now even though I don't care about Oakland. I'd rather see himdon the Silver and Black of a Raider rather than the Silver and Navy of a Cowboy.

I would never try to make the passing game a focal point with a team located outside in Buffalo.

Asante trying to get that Nate Clements money....

laugh.gif

There is no way Rice gets dratfted ahead of The Arkansas boys, Mendenhall or First Aid....

He should HOPE to be the 5th back taken...But then he will be battling w/ Slaton, J. Davis 'Maal Charles (who is gonna run a STOOOPID 40)

Ray Rice is he goods though...No doubt about it....

And that CB from Troy is the truth......

Yall must not realize Zant is the highest paid CB for this yr

Nate wont never see the back end of his contract. U
He got 35 mill tied up in the last 3 yrs of his deal

But keep in mind, Zant is a South Floridian

When I compared him to Nate...I was talking overall contract number...Not a year by year basis...

"Zant" is in the perfect situation in NE....The scheme fits him to a T...

at least he got a Big Business Bonus ...
That bonus is all that matters on an NFL contract, though. The yearly salaries ain't guaranteed, so it's damn near irrelevant. That moneyup front is almost all that matters. And Zant will be getting his Big Business Bonus from somebody this spring, whether it's from the Patriots or not.

yea, but those contract numbers are fake. when we heard Clements got a 80 mill deal, everyone repsonse was like "
eek.gif
O %@+! " but You gotta lookat the actual deal terms . U really think he gonna get 15 mil in 2014?
laugh.gif
Not a chance.
these NFL contracts are barely worth the paper they're written on, since none are guaranteed.

here's Nate's contract,
Signed 8-year/ $80 million contract. $22.6 million in guarantees. 2014 void yr, basically a 7 yr / $64.02 million.
2008: $3,383,334 (+ $10 million roster bonus), 2009: $3,516,666, 2010: $6 million, 2011: $7.25 million, 2012: $9 million, 2013: $10.77 million, 2014: $15.48million, 2015: Free Agent

basically he on a 4 yr deal as far as guaranteed money goes (including his bonus) after that, its a safe bet, the team will cut him or force him into a smallerdeal
smh.gif

barring some catastrophic injury or career fall-off, the best thing a player can do is get the franchise tag.

NFL is cutthroat son.....
barring some catastrophic injury or career fall-off, the best thing a player can do is get the franchise tag.
Yeah...If only you could get like a 5 year franchise deal...

At least Nate got that 22.5 guaranteed....

That contract is
sick.gif

I knew it was bad....But damn.....

I think walter Jones and Orlando Pace were getting Franchised every yr for like 4 yrs straight.
laugh.gif
Im not positive but I think Both of them would get tagged, then hold out like all of camp, just to come in at like the highest yearly rate possible ..
laugh.gif

Ok I looked up Pace numbers :
every yr since 2000 Orlando Pace had a cap number of over 4.5 Mill
laugh.gif
this dude is the re UP king.
laugh.gif
Who is his Agent? *edit I shoulda known it was CarlPoston
smh.gif
(who btw was suspended by the NFLPA for$!#%*@$ up Lavar Arrington's contract)

2012: $9 million, 2013: $10.77 million, 2014: $15.48 million
sick.gif
eek.gif
So, Nate essentially got a 5 year deal worth about 45 mil, assuming they even keep him through 2011... It's still a nice chunk ofchange, but it doesn't look as overwhelming as 8/80.

Where do you get these contract numbers from?
