New ESPN Mock draft

Where do you get these contract numbers from?
foxsports player profiles shows yearly salaries
Rotoworld has good details
and USA Today also

next time U see a perceived "huge contract signing", go look at the details and see for yourself how bogus that contract really is.

wow i tried to tackle those numbers on the first page and is still don't get it

gunna,

with Nate...the only thing that really will hurt SF with the deal would be the cap hit when they let him go, right?

That and the signing bonus money they gave him up front?

nah, wont be a big cap hit. when teams make their june 1st veteran cuts, its for cap relief.

and Nate's Bonus ($10,500,000) was attributed to the 2007 cap.

I never understood how those cap hits worked... Is it largely dependent on the Bonus money and how much has been previously allocated to the salary cap?

Why do they got us drafting a QB?! We need a DB or a D-linemen more than that. When healthy, McNair can get us to 13-3. We should believe and groom TroySmith as the franchise QB. We got an O-line, an explosive backfield, and good enough recievers. That aging D needs help in the secondary and up front! Ozzie, DON'T DRAFT A QB!

another question

isn't what Asante is makin this year slotted in because of the franchise tag?

And with the bonus...shouldn't the Pats if they wanted be able to put up basically whatever, they gota be making big time money as an organization

yes and no, both parties reworked the orignal franchise deal to add certain elements. and he met all the criteria to allow him not to be franchised again nextyr.
Dont qute me on this but I believe franchise deal is the franchised player gets paid the avg salary of the top 5 highest paid at his position.

Lance Briggs also made like $7.9 Mill this yr.
28. San Diego Chargers***
Record: 11-5
Scouts Inc.'s biggest needs: G, OT, NT, FB, RB
Projected pick: Dan Connor, MLB, Penn State
Connor is a versatile prospect who spent most of his collegiate career at outside linebacker before moving inside as a senior. Similar to former teammate Paul Posluszny (second round to Buffalo last season), Connor is a bit overrated at this early point in the draft process. Regardless, he's athletic and tough enough to warrant late-first round consideration from a team like the Chargers, who are in need of an upgrade at inside linebacker.raft p

Better pick would be Frank Okam or Pat Sims IMO....not saying Connor is a bad pick..but I think he might go earlier....top 20

Another great analysis by McShay.

Conner actually has some athleticism in his body.

Paul Pos can barely stay with a OT in space on a screen (hyperbole but you get my drift)

Unless Frank Okam finds another gear before draft workouts start, he ain't seeing the first round. I really don't like him at all as a NTin the 3-4... Dude hasn't got any idea what leverage is and how to use it.

Umm yeah...i dont see any way the Bears draft Andre Woodson.....is he even that good ?

Ugh when your QB's are Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton and Brian Griese he is and upgrade.

Chris Johnson ...

because come combine time. His numbers will be thru the roof.
Timed at 10.62 in the 100-meter sprint ... Ran anchor leg on fastest 4x100 relay team in the nation and won Golden South and Golden West national titles intrack.

He's mad versatile.
I think he can be like Brian Westbrook-lite when he first came in the League
prolly a 2nd rounder.

Yall think that highly of dude? He's good, but he's got a TON of miles on his legs already
Thats what they said about frank gore..

Why would the bills draft D jack when they have lee evans.. and roscoe as a return man.. AND roscoe just got a new contract..

Broncos need to draft defense with their 3 of their 1st 4 picks.. MLB, DL, and S..

I think Talib will be the 1st corner taken off the board..

Cant really see the cardinals drafting johnathon stewart either.. maybe though, there going to need a new RB sooner than later
