Does anyone have information on this years dunk contest? I havn't heard anything, just wondering if there has been any hint to the conestants.

the only one i know who has been invited this year is jamario moon, and i think he accepted the invitation.

Rudy Gay has said he wants an invite to the DC. So I'm thinking he will be in it.

EDIT: Excerpt from article on hoopsvibe.
"CNNSI's Drew Packham believes Dwight Howard, Sean Williams and Nick Young will also be named to the Slam DunkContest. Each can fly; the competition will be tight."

Take that for what its worth but that would mean Moon, D12, Sean Williams and Nick Young. I think it would be great if Gerald Green defended his title alongwith Rudy Gay. We haven't 6 participants since 2001 I believe.

I would like to see more competitors... 6 for sure, maybe 8.
3 rounds, 2 dunks each. and i guess we can stick with the 2 minute cap...maybe cut it to only 1 minute

hopefully gerald will go back this year. he has not got any time on the court this year, hopefully he will do insanely good

Gerald is definitely planning to defend. I don't see how he's not in it.

6 competitors would be awesome.

Nick Young, Rudy, Gerald, Dwight, Sean, and Moon would be an awesome field.

you know all of those smart ideas, such as 6 contestants, age limits, are going to be igonored by David Stern, for no known reason.

exactly what i was thinking

I heard Jamario Moon accepted but then decided not to do it. Gerald Green accepted the invite, not sure about anyone else though.

and as for Dwight Howard:

Dwight Howard, appearing on the cover and all, also seems to have one of the craziest finishers in the game. Howard's character tosses the ball off the backboard, catches it midair, throws it back off the backboard again, catches it, and dunks it with such ferocity that it actually tears down the entire backboard, ending the game right there.

Funny thing is, when Howard is told of his move, he claims to be able to do it in real life.

"I've actually done that one before. I will be doing the dunk contest again this year if they allow me back in it, and I think I'm going to try my finishing move in the contest. It will be the first dunk that comes from a videogame into real life."
