do you also go to the double-bonus situation when the other team reaches the foul limit?

never did anyone say they've called somebody for it... we're just saying, it's annoying how people just ignore the rule entirely.. youdon't have to seriously count 3 seconds, but make an effort to step out of the paint now and again, don't be a jerk just because you know nobody'sgoing to call it during a pickup game.

lol i play jail ball after we done dudes look like they went 12 rounds with Roy jones Jr.

Mannn you all are completely missing the point. NOBODY ever said they actually called someone out for a 3 second... craftsy just said hes tired of peoplecampin in the lane.

this %*%# happens all the time, you get the one out of shape fat @*$@ that just clogs the damn lane the entire game, its horrible. aint nobody gunna be callinno 3 seconds, its just one of those things mayne

I love using my off arm. Not because it owns the dude, but because of the situation that I use it in. The only time I ever use it is when the dude that'sdefending me is constantly handchecking. Then it's time to take homey to the right wing, powerdribble with the right hand, and shove him with the left.

thanks man... i'm thinking these guys talkin in here are thesame dudes we're all talkin about, setting up shop in the in the lane all damn day... throwin up lawn chairs and what not.

I personally am in favor of the laissez-faire style of pickup. I personally make no calls unless it's to give a foul to a person who I have just fouled. Iwill never call a foul or any infraction personally.

With all that being said, I sure have been in a lot of fights over basketball, but mostly because dudes morph into Dee Kantner if they can't get their gamegoing.

I usually never call any of that BS, which is why it pisses me off when people call it on me.

One time I was getting a screen and the lane opened so I went right down the middle and went up for a finger roll right in front of the rim (could say I wasgoing up for a dunk, like most of NT would say) and some dude said when I jumped I kicked him in the balls. He said it was an offensive foul, and it was hisball.

I said move your balls, but for some reason he was ready to scrap about it. So I ended up shooting for it, I don't remember if I made it or not, probablynot because I was so surprised he would even call that.

Its so rediculous at the gym i play at...its not uncommon to go 6 straight possesions for one team and they call a foul, im standing there like

can weplease just play ball? its not a foul is your arm gets slapped 50 feet from the basket, or if someone touches you while you lay it up...they are so soft, butthats the only place i know where a game is, so im stuck

Re: The original question, it's not a foul if the arm is just there to shield, but it is if you push off on any part of the defender's body. But smh atcalling that in a pickup game.

GOLD!

^Move your balls. Haha. Using your free arm to shield off a defender IS a foul. Along with wrapping your free arm around a defender to get past him (IEGinobili).

And as for pick up games, I rarely call fouls unless it is highly noticeable...But I hate when folks cry about the smallest thing or if you have teammates whocall fouls for you. Play the damn game folks.

i actually had one called for me the other day.. this one guy i play with got 50 lbs on me, and he has this trademark spin move.. well, i was standingparallel to the basket and as he spun, his leg went between my legs and so he got me in the chest with his shoulder.. funny thing was i was trying to give upa foul by hooking his shooting arm. i fell down though (no flop, i really did get knocked down), and play stopped.

dude's own teammates called it a charge on him. he was protesting and protesting that it was a foul (and i have to admit i did foul him, but he did knockme over). i thought they were gonna take the ball up top but his team ended up just walking back on defense, so what could he do? first time i've everseen or heard of a charge in a pickup game though, pretty funny stuff.

One thing i cant stand is when you see dudes camping inside the box for like 3 mins. Or basket hangers.
