NBA TV and NBA.com are moving to Atlanta.

The National Basketball Association and Turner Broadcasting on Thursday announced a deal under which the league's digital businesses, including its 24-hour digital TV network NBA TV and its Website NBA.com, will be operated by Turner out of the company's Atlanta production facility.

The arrangement furthers a long partnership between the NBA and Atlanta-based Turner, which televises NBA games on its TNT cable network.

Under terms of the new agreement, Turner will assume responsibility for programming, marketing and technical operations of NBA TV and will host and operate NBA.com and WNBA.com.

As part of the arrangement, on-air talent from TNT's NBA coverage will appear on NBA TV.

TBS also will operate the NBA League Pass, the league's out-of-market game telecast package.

The new venture will be jointly managed by David Levy, president of Turner Broadcasting Sales and Turner Sports, and Adam Silver, the NBA's deputy commissioner. They will name a general manager for the NBA digital businesses.

The deal is part of Turner's strategy of growing its new-media businesses and blending those platforms with its traditional TV coverage and advertising sales.

Turner already runs the Web operations of the PGA Tour and NASCAR.

I like the TNT NBATV connection, but why does it have to be in atlanta. Looks like Vescey (sp?) won't be on nbatv anymore, but i'll def take the tradeif my dude barkley will be.

That would be dope if they started playing games on TBS again. For some reason TBS games always got me excited. Probably because they were Hawks games andNique was ill.

tell him to kick some more money down to the braves so they can start beasting again.

true. some of those signals are just awful-looking on an hd-capable set.

so awful they make me want to change the channel and ask for a refund.
 
so does this mean, tnt people will be commentating games?

cause i get tired of hearing homer announcers on nba tv
 
here i was, at this point of the year, with the Chargers still in it, thinking it was Norv Turner for a millisecond.....name association.
