What Fuels your Dislike for a team?

It seems that a majority of people dislike a team for no good reason. The Patriots have become this years most hated team, with the Cowboys in a close second. If it wasn't for NT, would you guys dislike the teams that you do, to the extent that you do? I seem to only dislike my favorite teams rivals. Hating on ateam that is successful seems super lame in my eyes, unless they are a rival. What's your guys take on this?

Being one of my favorite team's rivals
Having players I don't like
The way they play
Spending too much money rather than developing within

I tend to hate other fans more than anything word to the douche bags on Addison and Clark

usually the fans, and also if its a rivalry that dates back to the past

The fans of said team. I don't care about how good a team is, I don't care about rivals nearly as much as I used too... It's simply the fans ofcertain teams that make me dislike them.

The Patriots and Celtics are this years teams... I have nothing but respect for the teams and players, but they have some of the lamest fans I've everseen. Jockriders are even worse... people who obsess and follow another man with that intensity are super suspect.
Oh, and I might also be one of the fewpeople who hates fans of the teams I like, also. People riding Dixon, Willis, and Roy like they're all the greatest ever at their respective positionsreally piss me off.

for me its the supposed fans of the team that come out of the woodwork. its too easy to be a fan of a great team and enjoy their success. but to be on therollercoaster ride with the team and ultimately find success, its just a wonderful thing that 90% of fans miss out on.

after NEs first superbowl, these fans came out of the woodwork especially out in the SW. I mean really, the patroits are the furthest geographical team thatyou can CHOOSE to like out here in the desert. but you choose to like them.

then it extends to not even know facts and players on the team other than tom brady and randy moss. they dont know that wes welker sucked as a dolphin and nowis a legit patroit.

Rivalries.
Crap officiating.

I don't really dislike too many teams though, in any of the major sports, I appreciate the effort.

To me its any team that ESPN is slurping or the fact that they are rivals of my fav. team. This year's Patriots...I just got sick of hearing about pursuitof perfection. I noticed it was ESPN too because when they started the Patriots crap I started respecting Manning, Dungy and the Colts, ESPN's team lastyear. Same with the Cowboys. ESPN started doing 10/7 coverage on Romo and Jessica. Then the Raiders just cuz of the fans.

if its the fans, why do the heat & Dwade get so much hate here? theres barely any of us in the first place & we dont act childish like a certainmember...

as for me, the only team i dont like too much is the patriots, but thats because of the coach

ive been a member since 04, but wasn't really too active back then. a lot of band wagoners i presume?

Its simple for me your a rival team or your playing my team. The fan stuff is garbage to me cause if you look at your own teams fans they have some of thesame things you claim that you don't like so that is bogus to me.

To me it has a lot to do with the players and the fans behavior. Anyone remember the Kings in the early 00's? Ya'll remember Chris Webber when hewould hit that wide open 14 footer and then he would jog down the floor with that scowl like he did something big? Then in the 4th quarter he peed down hisleg every time he touched the ball and passed it like a hot potato. Yeah, that guy and his fans would run their mouth at all times only to get it handed tothem. People like that made me hate them.

If people want talk trash fine, just back it up. It's all I ask

Usually it's the players and the god-like treatment/attention of some teams (ala Patriots on ESPN, Notre Dame EVERYWHERE).

But for the most part, it's players like Ryan Appleby, Kobe Bryant, Tim Tebow, Tyler Hansborough, etc. A coach like Charlie Weis or Bill Bellichick(sp)might even be the cause.

And I hate the Raiders because....they are the Raiders.

I have a reason for everything.

I've hated the Cowboys, ********, and Giants since I've been an Eagles fan. I hate the Cowboys more than ever before now. It's obvious why.

if the team is full of thugs (warriors) or showboats, I'm sure to not like them. Also, ignorant/thuggish fans will sway my dislike towards a team. I'ma fan of teams that play together towards a greater goal rather than highlight reels and individual stats. Also, if they're a rival (Kal) I'm equallyas likely to hate them. There will always be teams hated simply out of jealousy for their success which I think is rather silly. Let that team have their timeto shine. LEt their fans be proud. Keep faith in your team because their time will come.
