Apparently Oregon's new basketball arena (interior) is being designed by Tinker Hatfield and is a 99% pure Nike production. I'm interested to see howit looks on the inside.

This is from OregonLive, an Oregon online newspaper:

As Rachel Bachman's note in Friday's Oregonian made clear, the University of Oregon's proposed basketball arena is a 99.4 percent pure Nike production

Nike's Phil Knight is throwing $100 million into a "legacy fund" to cover Oregon's losses when the annual revenue in the arena doesn't cover the $20 million in debt service.

Nike's Tinker Hatfield is designing the arena's interior.

And TVA Architects -- which designed the Tiger Woods Conference Center, the Nike World Campus expansion and the Laika Animation Center -- is designing the building exterior, a view of which can be found here.

I would check out the TVA Architects website and take a tour of the new Mac Court. Place looks to be amazing.

thats bad but 12,500 seating? now thats a joke

For a brand new stadium, that doesn't seem like a good size. What kind of crowd does Oregon attract right now at their basketball games though? Maybe theydon't need a stadium that seats 15,000-20,000.

Oh gosh lol ^^^^^ That had me rollin.

Mac Court holds approx. 9,000 right now. But they want to keep that same kind of feeling in the new arena from what I've read and heard.
And sometimes the size of the stadium/arena doesn't really matter. Autzen is loud and crazy, Cameron is loud and crazy, same with Mac Court right now.

But a 20,000 seater would be pretty sweeeet lol
 
So basically its going to look like they could put it RIGHT on the Nike Campus.....

Man does Phil have love for the Ducks...
 
looks pretty mean. I actually like the smaller more intimate courts rather than the NBA style arenas.
 
place looks nice. although its crazy that it seems so large but it only fits 12,500. that HAS to affect the sounds of the game. more atmosphere for the voicesto bounce around on
