Who is the best TE in the NFL?

i just got in a argument with my friend because he said Vernon Davis will be the best TE in the next 2-3 year, and i said Witten is only 25 so there almost thesame age what u guys think?

i say Jason Witten is the best over all TE and he is only 25

and the best receiving TE is Gates

I don't know who I would consider to be the best tight end in the league, but I do know that Chris Baker is the the most underrated TE in the NFL.

Vernon is a physically gifted freak, but he won't touch Gates or Witten. I'd also throw Tony Gonzalez out there.

you need to not make blanket statements. Gates is the best TE IMO, but there are other great guys out there too, he's not running away with it

Personally, I'm a Winslow fan, but he's not the best. Gates is damn good, but I think Gonzalez has him beat with his year in, year outconsistency.

I agree with the TE's mentioned but I think my man Dallas Clark needs some love...
Dallas Clark led Tight Ends in Td's this year with 11.. and he's top 5 or 6 in receiving yards and would be higher if he hadn't missed all thattime this year..

2/3. Witten and Winslow:


Winslow is a very very gifted pass catcher and can run after the catch. Witten is also a great reciever but blocks a little more.

You're right, I have no idea why I forgot Dallas. He would go in there before Heap for sure.

Dallas Clark had a breakout year and Heap was injured most of the season, he barely even played. but looking at their overall body of work in their careers, ithink you still have to put Heap ahead of Clark.
