Urban Meyer has no class AT ALL

Now if anybody has pay attention to PJ's recruitment, they know he's a liar. He's calling out Urban because he was told that he could not enrollearly at Florida. With that jump in his ACT score everybody knew it was going to get flagged. You know something is up when FSU declined him on the earlyenrollment.

Now LSU has to go through all this trouble now thinking they could sneak him in early. If he doesn't get into LSU before whenever their drop/add date is,watch out for Ohio State.

Uhh no. Ohio St has limited schollys now.

True but they want 1 stud CB in this class. They are sitting around waiting to see what Brandon Harris will do even though many think he will be aCane. I think they would sit on a scholly for PJ. If you wouldn't, you are making a mistake. For all that PJ talks, the kid is unreal. Legit 6-1 with greatcoverage skills and playmaking ability is tough to find in a PURE Corner.

newbs-

no doubt pj is on another level. hopefully he can get his head screwed on straight. some south florida recruiting guys are saying harris will not be a cane.not sure why he wouldnt go there, depth chart is really appealing. this was a pretty good year for cbs in south florida (pj,harris and jenkins), shannon cannot afford to strike out.

Since when????

And if true, its prolly cause they didn't wanna get burned again like we did thid year w/ Bernard Brinson who we had to send to JC

This post needs a whole bunch of those YOU MAD pictures added, because everyone in here is hatin, pretending like Urban is doing anything other than his job, which is to better his team by any manor inside the rule boundaries. That test score looks more than suspicious, it looks fraudulent. Florida is going to openpreseason top 3 next season and if they land Terrelle Pryor and Julio Jones, it's wrap for the next 3 years. You'll get one more year of Teabow andHarvin and then they'll be cocked and reloaded with guys just as big and even faster, with a better defense also along for the ride.

What makes you think that can't happen. You might not have noticed that Florida has already jumped to 3rd in the Rivals.com recruiting rankings andFlorida is Pryors top rated school thus far and Jones's second rated school. Alabama currently has no offensive coordinator (Jones) and why go to LSU whenyou can go to Florida and run an offense that was taylor made for Pryor especially when you can go and learn for a year while Teabow and the rest of the teammakes a run at a title.

at Julio going to UF....

Julio is looking for a place where the QB will be there for his 3 years....

IMO its between OU and Bama... (Rumor from a Gator insider is that JJ gave a gave a silent to Jimbo and FSU, But I seriously doubt that....And even if he did,it doesn't mean jack ***% until he signs his LOI)....its damn near impossible to get a top recriuit from bama away from the Tide or the Tigers...

Pryor is not going to UF....Cause after Tebow, its Newtons job.....

Urban Meyer is a liar...P.J is a Liar ...noone can really be trusted in this situation. Meyer has some shady recruiting tactics hes using and they are workingnow (miami just lost ramon buchanon) but they will catch up to him eventually espcially with recruits speaking up about their experiences like Julio Jones,Javon Snead, etc... The true test for Meyer will be winning in the SEC with his recruits in the next couple of years....and to add I think pryor is goin tomich cuz of what rich-rod has done with shaun king and Pat white. The buckeyes will be ok if this happens cuz they still have Boeckman and their running gameis solid.... sorry for the tangent but i get carried away with this stuff and i find it hella interesting

Report: Florida probing Meyer recruiting calls

Sporting News staff reports

Florida football coach Urban Meyer isn't in the clear yet in an university investigation regarding recruiting.

The school's athletic department will continue to investigate possible NCAA violations by Meyer and his staff regarding their recruitment of junior college wide receiver Carl Moore, the Orlando Sentinel reported on its website Wednesday night. The probe may take several weeks. University compliance officials will review phone records and conduct interviews.

Meyer last week sounded confident he and his staff's contact with Moore and Moore's girlfriend, current Gators gymnast Maranda Smith, last fall would not draw any penalties. "No problems with that," the Sentinel quoted Meyer as saying. "We're fine."

Smith told the Gainesville Sun that Meyer called her daily while he was recruiting Moore, a tactic that may be a violation of NCAA bylaws.

The school has notified the Southeastern Conference of the issue, the Sentinel reported.

Moore and Smith are still active members of their respective teams, the newspaper said.

UF officials are still investigating coach Urban Meyer over potential recruiting violations

Dave Curtis | Sentinel Staff Writer January 23, 2008

GAINESVILLE - Florida athletics officials are continuing to review potential secondary violations committed by football Coach Urban Meyer in his recent recruitment of junior college wide receiver Carl Moore and his girlfriend, gymnast Maranda Smith.

"We are in information-gathering mode," UF senior associate athletics director for compliance Jamie McCloskey said Tuesday afternoon. "And we're going to see where that takes us."

UF officials plan to review how steps Meyer and some of his assistants took in the fall to lure Moore and Smith to Florida. Smith told the Gainesville Sun last week that Meyer called her daily as he tried to recruit Moore, a tactic that may have violated NCAA bylaws. Moore and Smith, a standout amateur gymnast, both attended Sierra (Calif.) Community college last year.
Meyer said in an interview last week that he thought he had not broken any rules and had been cleared of wrongdoing.

"No problems with that," he said. "We're fine."

But McCloskey said he and his department will spend as long as the next few weeks determining whether the coach is correct. UF officials have informed the Southeastern Conference of the issue and plan to use phone records and interviews as they review the case.

Meanwhile, Moore and Smith remain active members of their teams. Smith competed for the Gators in the uneven parallel against Georgia on Friday night. Moore has not been declared ineligible, UF assistant athletic director Steve McClain said Monday.

UF officials also reviewed a tape of ESPN's broadcasts before and during Saturday's Kentucky-Florida basketball game at the O'Connell Center but do not expect any serious violations to come from the situation. At least one football recruit on campus for a weekend official visit was shown by the cameras. Schools are prohibited from promoting recruits before they sign letters of intent.

Yeah..This is far from over....

But Urban is not gonna get hung out to dry over this *!#!....Slap on the wrist...
Thursday, January 24, 2008
http://
Tebow Possibly Implicated in Moore Mess
Urban Meyer's recruitment of junior college receiver Carl Moore - already under investigation by Florida officials for possible NCAA rules violations - might involve Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow as a participant in additional violations.

The new allegation surfaced from a Dec. 18 story in the Sacramento Bee. The story details how Meyer, who was with Tebow for the Dec. 8 Heisman presentation in New York, called Moore shortly after Tebow was presented the award. According to the story by Joe Davidson, "Florida coach Urban Meyer placed the call and then placed the device in the hands of Tebow."

Tebow reportedly told Moore: "Carl!, I just won the Heisman! Come on down here, and let's win a national championship!"

NCAA rules state that a coach is not to make a call and then let another of his student-athletes talk to a recruit.

To this point, the investigation into the recruitment of Moore had centered on Meyer's involvement with Moore's girlfriend, Maranda Smith. From published accounts, Meyer had recruited Smith for the Gator gymnastics team in hopes of securing Moore. Under NCAA rules, this is forbidden because a football coach cannot recruit for another sport.

In a Gainesville Sun story last week headlined, "UF notebook: Gymnastics gets recruiting assist from Meyer," Smith said she "used to talk to [Meyer] every day back in November when he was recruiting Carl."

But Smith was telling a different story on Wednesday. This account from the Miami Herald's website:

" '[Meyer] never called me personally,' Smith said. 'Carl sometimes didn't have his phone or his phone would get cut off. So, he had given Coach Meyer my number and [Moore told Meyer], "If you call my number and I don't answer or it goes to voice mail, call Maranda because I'll be with her more than likely," and that's how he got a hold of Carl.' "

"Smith said on Wednesday that she 'never talked to Coach Meyer about life or anything for more than two seconds.' Smith said that Meyer would call her and then ask to speak with Moore."

Meyer was not available for comment and said to be recruiting, but the Orlando Sentinel reported Tuesday that Meyer had "met last week with Jamie McCloskey, UF's senior associate athletics director for compliance. The coach emerged from that meeting thinking he had committed no NCAA recruiting violations.

" 'No problems with that,' Meyer said. 'We're fine.' "

On Wednesday, the Sentinel reported that was not the case, this time quoting McCloskey:

"We are in information-gathering mode," McCloskey said. "And we're going to see where that takes us."

Did Meyer really believe he was in the clear when he talked to the Sentinel, or did he merely hope that the issue would go away?

Back to the Meyer/Tebow call to Moore. Here are the specific rules in question regarding that call:

NCAA rule 13.02.5.2: "Enrolled student-athletes or other enrolled students shall not make or participate in telephone calls to prospective student-athletes at the direction of a coaching staff member or financed by the institution or a representative of its athletics interest."

NCAA rule 13.02.5.1 (b): "It is permissible for an enrolled student-athlete to receive [not make] telephone calls made at the expense of a prospective student-athlete after July 1 following the completion of the prospective student-athlete's junior year in high school. Telephone calls made by enrolled students (excluding student-athletes) pursuant to an institution's regular admissions program directed at all prospective students shall be permissible."
