This is how you rebuild in a hurry.

SA went from 59 to 20 wins...(tanking maybe)....pair Duncan with Robinson and boom, title in 2 years and the rest is history.

Obviously luck is involved with the lottery (Beasley would probably be the ideal fit)...and no Beasley is certainly not Duncan nor are any kids in the upcomingdraft.

But as bad as the Heat look right now, after this season their future is going to look a lot better.

You never really see a team with a franchise player (Wade) SUCK THIS BAD

I'm gona say they strike gold and
You pair Wade with Beasley....then revamp the roster, and don't they have a pretty nice future setup?

Wade is always gona be the primary ball handler, they need a big.

Obviously like I said, Beasley isn't Duncan...but there's not another big man to take if they ended up #1 or #2

Yeah, it could work out well for them - like San Antonio like you say.

Not sure about tanking though - Robinson only played something like 6 games - you can see a slight parallel with Miami this year having one of their playersplaying injured and well below par and another missing a major part of the season.

SA went from 59 to 20 wins...(definitely tanking maybe)....pair Duncan with Robinson and boom, title in 2 years and the rest is history.
But...They could end up like Boston, and getting a pick outside of the top 4....

They need Beasley or Jordan....There is no need for a guard.....(Gordon, Mayo, or Rose)

So in essence, they need to get a top 3 pick at least.....Top 2 if Jordan or B-Easy don't come out...

Yeah, but if you're gona suck, you might as well be as bad as possible...and they're doing a good job of it

why would yall want another guard? Get a decent point and let Wade and Cook play.

Rose I guess would be the best guard to take since he doesn't dominate the ball as much as Mayo or Gordon

Like Dre said, Get Beasley or Jordan up front

Yessirrr....

THE TWO TEAMS DONT HAVE MUCH IN COMMON. tHE 90'S SPURS BEFORE DUNCAN WERE NEVER LEGIT TITLE CONTENDERS IMO. THE CORE OF THE HEAT HAS WON A TITLE. THE SPURSWERE YOUNG ENOUGH TO GET ANOTHER RUN GOING. THE HEAT ARE TOO OLD FOR A LEGIT RUN. THE SPURS DIDNT GET OLD AGE INJURIES THEY GOT FREAK INJURIES.

ya they are probably tanking it at this point... I remember Barkley calling out the Spurs back then for tanking their season..

they won't be able to revamp the roster because nobody was veterans with the contracts that these guys have

^ Wade is still plenty young.

You don't need more than 2 big time players to contend, as long as they're surrounded by some good role players (they do need an overhaul in thatdepartment)

And those Spurs were definitely contenders, Dream just had his way with them

There is no point in getting Wade and Rose....You get A big man and have you inside/outside threat....

They are too similar...

You know, I never thought about it that way.

A top pick in the draft will make them that much better, thats forsure.

I agree with Fede DPT in saying that if they kept Kapono and Posey, they would be ALOT better

I do not believe the Heat are tanking, they are just this bad. There is no Lebron, Duncan, Oden or Durant for the 08 draft but there are some good prospects. As mentioned nothing is guaranteed and they could get the top pick or they could get the 4th or 5th pick as they will "battle" it out with Minnesotafor the worst record in the NBA. Personally I think Beasley would be the best fit. Deandre Jordan is still a work in progress and will be a project and all ofthe guards have some holes in their games.

Few things...

1. Man like hell the Heaters don't need another guard. We don't another scoring 2/off guard like a Mayo or a Gordon, with Cook showing he's apretty nice piece going forward, and Wade being Wade. But Derrick Rose is a natural point guard. People keep thinking the's some kind ofcombo guard, too similair to Wade(only thing they have in common is that they're both very explosive off the bounce), and that's not case from whatI've observed. He is as much of point guard as Chris Paul or TJ Ford is. I can't even imagine what a backcourt of D-Rose and Wade would do intransistion with simply just some compentant shooters around.

2. I see Beasley as wing player in the NBA. A somewhat oversized wing like a Shard Lewis or Melo. He's going to be the numero uno pick in the draft. Isimply don't think Miami gets that lucky...

3. I'd be cool with Deandre Jordan too. Legit big, and he's going to be a beast.

Yea we are not tanking, the team just is not good, I think I would rather have beasley over rose, but i would gladly take rose if beasley is gone

I agree with Rose completely, but I think with the choice of Beasley/Rose and with Miami...Beasley would be the choice

this is the only reason why i dont care that the heat suck..cause it helps our chances of getting beasley..now if we dont get rose or beasley, this whole yearis a complete failure

I was saying that they are too similar, becuase you are going to have 2 6'3 guards in your backcourt......

And have no legit big man on the blocks....

I know the are different in regards to their play....But physically they are damn near clones of each other...

i'd be fine with either of the two, i think both are going to be really good players anyway. either would help, and thats counting on us landing one of thetop two picks in the lottery.

and no, we're not tanking it, we just suck this year
