Mel Kiper's 2008 NFL Mock Draft vol. no mcshay riders

Brohm's stock dropped dramatically this year. I'm no CFB expert but he should have left last year.

Petrinoooo!

It's not totally out of the realm of possibility to see both Brohm and Woodson slip to the 2nd rd, although I think it is highly unlikely that happens. Ialso think Kenny Phillips albeit in a WEAK safety class will be taken in the first rd.

chilo in the 1st round?

I was surprised as hell too, if Rivers ends up with the Packers,

. They will have a nice LB corps.

I don't know how Matt Ryan became a top 10 pick. Then again, I am still scratching my head that JaMarcus Russell was the top pick last year.

who is this corner from troy super hyped guy on nfl network today. I don't know how sam baker dropped so far but i think the injuries
are the reason. the man rarely gave up a sack. By the way Cason is legit and no one has mentioned him in the first round since like November is he even at theSenior bowl?

honestly i dont think any of this years mock drafts are gonna be realistic.

im sure there are gonna be a lot of suprise picks this draft.

But what the hell is the point of taking away the pick from the Pats when they still have the 7th pick? :l

C'mon now...

Well, that pick was from San Fran for a specific player. It would be unfair to take that away because the Pats gave up a player to attain that pick. It's almost like the NFL taking away a player from the Pats roster. So Goodell rolled with whatever pick NE landed with when the season was over.(Surprise, surprise, the 32nd pick

Leodis McKelvin and there is no hype dude is a beast and he can contribute on special teams. He just doesnt have the fanfare the other cornershave but he is just as good.

Damn....I think Mel is suffering from a little Orange Bowl hangover. My boy Talib is good, but I don't know if he's quite a top 10 pick.

Hmmm....This is interesting.....A lot of big names missing from the 1st round....and a lot of others going way high in the draft...

I'll wait for his updated mock on Jan. 31

No way only one QB goes in the first round. Teams always lookin for young one's and if Cutler can go at 11, then Woodson or Brohm can at least make it inthe 20's. He just throwin out some early names and surprises.

what does Cutler going 11 have anything to do with this draft?

If Brohm doesn't perform well at the Combine, he's gonna slip to round 2. Dre on the other hand, as soon as these stupid wannabe scouts stop talkingabout his lack of mobility because hes black, he'll be fine.

Jay Cutler would be the best QB prospect in this draft...

Seems like a lot of people think Brohm made a serious miscalculation of his own value by skipping out on the Senior Bowl. This week could be huge for dude ifhe went out there and played well.

says he's hurt.

Former University of Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm has pulled out of Saturday's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., citing an injured ankle.

Brohm, who has been working out in California to prepare for the NFL draft, suffered a high right ankle sprain in the season finale against Rutgers.

"I am disappointed as I have tremendous respect for this game and I have been preparing hard for what would have been my only bowl game," Brohm said in a release through his agency, Athletes First. "Unfortunately, the ankle is still not ready, and I did not want to take a roster spot from another player when I was not sure if I could participate fully in the practices or the game."

One of the game's other top quarterback prospects, Boston College's Matt Ryan, opted not to participate.

is Matt Ryan hurt too?

9 Cincinnati Bengals *Phillip Merling, DE Clemson

I'd be happy to see Merling go this high, but I'd be very surprised. I think he's more of a mid-2nd round kind of player, definitely canmake an impact though.

And I REALLY wanna see the Giants work hard to upgrade the secondary in the offseason, though I'm excited about Ross.

Mel throwin some wrenches and head scratchers in this one...

I like it though cus its mad different, keep em comin boys...(No, Not you McShay)

i'll wait after the senior bowl and the nfl combines before i start payin attention to this stuff....

The precedence of QB's taken in the first round. Cutler going that high seemingly outta nowhere has plenty of meaning considering an expert just listedone and only one QB going in the first round when history tells us that we rarely if ever see only one QB taken in the first round. I use Cutler because hewas just another avergae guy coming into the league after quote unquote superstars like Leinart and Young. Woodson and or Brohm may not be superstars but theycan certainly compete with Jay Cutler as a QB.

I am happy with Gholston at #7. Our D-Line has gotten destroyed for the past couple of years so we really need an upgrade. We have so many holes and I reallyam not a Kellen Clemens fan. I wished Michael Oher would have stayed in a draft,we might have had a shot at him in the second round.
