The Detroit Free Press is reporting he will be released or traded.

Umm doesnt that automatically lower his value in a trade scenario? so they're gonna either get fleeced or cut him outright...

There's Jerry's nose tackle... Get Rogers for a second day pick from the Lions, move Jay Ratliff back to DE where he belongs, and ship Marcus Spearsoutta town ASAP.
 
Jerry should make that happen


and Millen might be trying to see exactly what his limits are to get fired..?
 
I just don't get it at all. Like I said in one of the mock threads, dude could be a top ten player at his position if he's motivated. I dont know maybeif he played for someone other then Lions would motivate him. It gets harder and harder every year to be a Lions fan. I just don;t understand how Millen notonly keeps his job but got signed to an extension not to long ago and is right behind Parcells for front office salary.

I'm glad he's gonna be gone. But why let it be known you'll release him anyways? Millen has done this franchise wrong from day one. I'd takeanyone over him. I'm sure they'll screw up again in the draft somehow. They'll win 4 or 5 games next season. Marinelli will be fired, andanother coach will come in to destroy his career. The Ford's should find someone that enjoys football, and knows football. Otherwise, they will continueto be losers, and lose fans. It's very hard to root for them. I even was rooting against them this year.

Spears is terrible. If you can get anything of value for him right now, you take it and run.
 
Rogers has to get in shape first he had conditioning issues all last year , but other than that he's a good player
 
Don't see him coming to big D unless its a second day pick...

I think Spears' chances to get another contract are outnumbered ...but don't count him out...
if you remember, Spears got a knee injury his rookie year, and that may have delayed his progress...

but your right, Spears hasn't done jack for the Boys...though 34 DEs never do much anyway
 
the perfect trade would be S. Rogers + Boss Bailey+ Kalimba Edwards + a 5th rounder for Jonathan Vilma + 3rd rounder. what you think? Jets get the NT they havebeen looking for plus 2 other players that could be OLBs for their 3-4 scheme and we get Vilma (who wants out of the 3-4 that they play) to solidify our MLBposition. I like it!!
 
yeah he is technically a 3 tech but he is so big and quick that he demands 2 blockers everyone knows this. but its when he takes those plays off he stilldemands the respect so he will just take up space as all NTs do. I think it will work
 
Well he really didnt do anything after the 6-2 start and gained 20 lbs toward the end of the season and stopped trying. I can see why the Lions would want totrade him. Hopefully they can get something good from this.
 
even the on some of the Jets Forums they are talking about a S. Rogers for Vilma trade! Make it happen Marinelli!!!!!!!(or Millen)

Brian VanOchten joined Bret Bakita "On the Bench" on WBBL-AM (1340) on Friday to discuss the latest Detroit Lions news, including the speculationthat defensive tackle Shaun Rogers could be on his way out.

Rogers is due a $1 million roster bonus March 2.

"My guess is (the Lions) are going to give him one more chance," VanOchten said. "Rod Marinelli has been very reluctant to close any doors withShaun simply because they don't have a replacement at this point.

"As much as Shaun Rogers should be cut from that team just on principle alone, they may be stuck with him for another year."
