Jordan , the best Trash Talker (Vid Inside)

How about the one he had to Craig Hodges on the bus? Let me try to paraphrase it....

Jordan had just farted, he looked over to Hodges and said "Was that one of your Muslim bombs"

"They don't need a ticket to watch you sitting on the bench. They can go to your house for that." - Michael to Charles Davis who was sorting through his tickets for his family and friends

Cold as ice.
Michael Jordan is that dude.

I'm fairly sure every last one of those quotes is from the book The Jordan Rules by Sam Smith. I've been reading it randomly over the past few monthsand just finished it last night on the plane...definitely would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of MJ. It details the 90-91 season (1st Title) and talksopenly about all of the players and the star system the Bulls have with Jordan. Great read.

Yet people say lebron and kobe are to cocky, and Allen iverson is a bad teammate. If any of them were caught saying something that disrespectful to thereteammates they would be getting criticized all over the media.

I own the movie that clip is from on VHS. Got it when I was a youngin(no pun intended towards my username).

MJ= G.O.A.T., doesn't even need to be said.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing Starks talk junk and then look at all the rings he has. That piece of garbage was my favorite player to watch fail.

Didn't watch the video but I remember the story of how GP was talking $%$# to Jordan, told Jordan he was about to buy a Ferrari and Jordan laughed at him and told him I'm Michael Jordan, they send me those free.

OMG... please don't tell me he really said that.

I can just see GP's face like...

ok coach wally.
like mike was sayin, when you talk, you can get in the opponents head, and have them try to go one on one all night, and screw up the other team'schemistry.
granted it doesnt always work that way, but when you're jordan, people want to show they are just as good.

Tex Winters said to MJ that he was the worst passer that he'd ever seen. MJ retorts that "I'm the best scorer you've ever seen, so why shouldI pass?".

Wanna know what kind of trash-talker MJ was? Ask Kwame. He's still shaken up.

Some highlights from Playboy June '87 which have an article on McHale:

"I've always side that if Kevin had to wear a mouthpiece while he was playing, he wouldn't enjoybastketball" -Danny Ainge

"He is one of the few players I know that can talk and play at the same time. It doesn't break his concentration at all." -Robert Parish

Of course his first love is talking, but the other one is basketball. And his talks keeps us loose. If he isn'tkeeping us loose, he's firing us up. Still, if you give him half achance to get on you, it's bad." -then Celtics coach KC Jones

Dude even rips on his own teammates, his greatest victim being Bill Walton (who was mostly injured in his Celtics tenure)...

McHale on Walton's offense: "Hey, Bill, those 1965 John Wooden face-up don't cut itanymore."

McHale on naming his own baby boy: "We were thinking about naming him Bill, but his feet were normal, so we hadto pick something else!"

McHale to Walton, on court, as the 1986 clincher wound down: "Well, you've finally donesomething!"

Since Walton is injured most of the time, his adopted victim is Danny Ainge
laugh.gif

"He'll go up to Isiah Thomas and say, 'Danny says he's going to kick your%$#%,' " reportsAinge. "So then Isiah goes out and gets 33 against me."

And McHale can back up his talks. For those young enough (like me), McHale was a BEAST during his peak!

"Bird is tough, but McHale down low is the match-up that eats everyone alive in this league." -DougCollins

"Kevin McHale is the best inside player in the league. He is as close to unstoppable as you can get. He'sbeen tough on us forever, and he just keeps getting better and better." -Don Nelson

"McHale has been our MVP (for 1986-87)" -Danny Ainge

and the finisher: "Nobody can guard Kevin McHale. Nobody." -Larry Bird

Well, I hope they can say the same for him as the GM of the T-Wolves!
