Young Andrew.....

13.6 ppg
9.2 rpg
2.4 apg
1.6 bpg
53.1% from the floor

Dude is starting to live up to the hype surrounding his selection as the #1 overall pick. D12 IMO, is the best 5 in the East right now. Is Andrew Bogut theclear-cut #2 center in the East behind Dwight Howard? He's only 23, and it looks as though he could be a dude who gets about 5 apg from the 5 spot, allwhile scoring over 15 and getting 10 boards per night. Is he a lock for the AS game this season? As I said, I think he could be considered the 2nd best 5 inthe East....where do you think he stands amongst the other centers in the whole NBA?

The East should just make Chris Bosh a center for the all-star team so they can give another forward spot to a deserving player.

agreed. if anyone from the east had to be backup i'd choose dalembert or okafor. both are not talked about much and both average a double double. big zwouldn't be a bad choice for the east either.

ie: Caron and Antawn, Paul Pierce

I feel vindicated.

Once they trade Redd, watch his averages go up. Big men who play with ball dominating guards are always late bloomers.

Speaking of the bucks is Charlie V. the softest dude in the nba?

no he is not. Big Z sucks

and how is Dalembert having a better year then bogut?
More rebounds, more blocks...less points but still double figures. They're shooting about the same percentage.

What Bogut has on his side is age and knees. Those are two things Z does not have anymore. By next year it will be clear cut that Bogut > Z, and Dalemberthas been playin really well too.

I would say that behind Dwight, Bogut is the most PROMISING center in the east. We all already know what Z, Dalembert, Okafor, and.... um.... god there arentany good bigs anymore.... But we know what those guys are going to bring you in their career. But with Bogut, there is still a lot of potential (reminds me ofa more athletic, younger Kaman and with better vision), so there is a lot of promise there. I dont know if when he retires though people will be real happywith him as a #1 pick.

56% FT shooter? Jeez.

I'd take Okafor over him, but I agree that once Redd is gone he'll become a much better player.

I don't know how many times you've seen Kaman play but Bogut is CERTAINLY nowhere near being more athletic than him.

clear cut? no way it's clear cut. Dwight Howard is the clear cut #1, after that its debatable. besides, Bogut doesn't even have better numbers to showthan Okafor or Ilgauskas.

Bogut is extremely skilled offensively, moreso than even Dwight Howard. but i'd take Okafor - one, because he has better numbers than Bogut anywaysaveraging a double-double and taking higher-percentage shots. but more importantly because he's a defensive anchor in this league.

Emeka has 18 games with 5+ blocks in his career, including 8s, 9s, and 10s. Bogut only has 3, all three were with just5 blocks. Okafor brings a presence to the paint that Bogut does not, and thats what i'd rather have in a center.

Maybe I havent seen enough of Kaman this season since he dropped some weight, but I think Boguts athleticism has surprised a good few people thus far. Andas far as Sheed being a 5, hes just playing out of position this year, so I dont know that that counts.

Negative to the Post starter

Behind Howard there are guys like Bosh, Roscoe, Z, I guess Dalembert. He is maybe top 5 in the east.
