I'm not sure if this has been discussed or not. I've done the search and none appeared. If this has been discussed, lock it up!
NBA 50 Greatest Players were picked in 1996 to select 50 best players that have ever played in the league.
2006 has passed, and if you can add 10 more players to make 60 Greatest players, who would they be? And WHY?
I know it's late, I just never thought that it could be a topic of discussion...

Yeah, but if they were going to make it 60 right now, I would add those 10 before LeBron.

He'll make it, don't worry.

But still no love for Bernard King?

Dude is not top 60 to ever play the game now. He's accomplished nothing to this point, give him time. Wade has done more than LeBron to this point.

Of the current players playing right now, who if they never picked up a basketball again would be considered one of the greatest ever/HOF players?

Mine are: 1) Tim Duncan (greatest winner of this decade and maybe best PF ever) 2) Kobe Bryant (arguably the most best player of this decade) 3) Allen Iverson(best 6'0 scorer in NBA history) 4) Kevin Garnett (one of 5 players in history to average 20/10 for 7 consectutive seasons (Wilt, Shaq, Tim, Malone) 5)Steve Nash (2-time MVP) 6) Jason Kidd (nothing needs to be said) LeBron, Wade, Melo, CP3, etc. just don't have the body of work to say they would be rightnow, but out of this group, Wade would have the strongest case.

And what the hell do I have to be salty about, right now, you actually believed if LeBron retired tomorrow, he'd be in the HOF or considered one of the top60 to ever play the game?

Co-sign.

man...... no Dennis?

Maybe it's because of the media image that he didn't care about offense or all of his off court issues .....He was one of thebest players I've ever seen.... dude would rule this league today mentally and rebounding-wise.... I'd have him averaging around 23- 25 reboundstoday.....

^how is he being salty? it's common sense

nobody can make 60 greatest players of all time list at 22 years old. if Lebron retired right now, what would he have over the careers of these guys?:

* Jason Kidd
* Kevin Garnett
* Allen Iverson
* Kobe Bryant
* Bob McAdoo
* Dominique Wilkins
* Reggie Miller
* Connie Hawkins
* Tim Duncan
* Gary Payton

NOTHING.

and i thought Duncan was already in the top 50 list?

Kidd
Duncan
Kobe
AI
KG
Nash

Bron should not even be mentioned. C'mon people he's good but i think some people are taking this too far

A lot of players have done this...

When they were announcing the 10 players, I was hoping for Joe D

It's hard to argue a list like this because people can get very subjective and players deserve it in different ways

you're delusional if you think LeBron is in the top 60 of players to ever play in the NBA, RIGHT NOW. it has nothing to do with him being a kobe fan.

4) Kevin Garnett (only player in history to average 20/10 for more than 2 consecutive seasons-he's done it 7 times)

A lot of players have done this...

OK, that's not all he has done. That is obviously not the only thing he has accomplished, and his passion for the game is unmatched.

I wouldn't put Kidd on the list - I just don't rate him that highly. Sure he can pass and he's a big guard so he gets quite a few rebounds - but 60best ever? Not on my list.

He hasn't won anything.

I would definitely put Rodman before him.

Wait, KG is definitely not the only player to ever average 20/10 for consecutive seasons, Shaq did it for the first 13 years of his career, Barkley did it foreleven straight, Malone did it nine straight, Ewing did it for nine straight, Hakeem did it twelve times, Robinson did it 7 times (8 total), Wilt was Wilt andaveraged 30/20 for his career, (although not the same NBA, but still

), Kareem did it his first twelve seasons, among many other good players, yeahthey're all top 50 players, but regardless KG is not the only player to average 20/10 in consecutive years.

NOBODY and I mean NOBODY could guard Jamal Mashburn in his prime. Coaches had matchup nightmares when they played the Hornets. It's really too bad hewasn't healthier for the better part of his career. I'm telling you the dude was unguardable.

this guy was such a sick scorer. Probably the best scorer ever on the Knicks, i dont really nkow him well though cause ive never seen him platy live, butthrough stats and highlights he should get consideration for top 50 and #30 should be hung up. But than again so should 3 and 34.
