yeah those are nice. The one thing though is I'm not sure the outsole and all the textures fit well with the ipod, also IMO that kind of outsole wouldn't perform well on basketball court.

That tread pattern doesn't cover the whole outsole underneath the shoe. It's mainly about 3/4 of the surrounding area of the outsole.

About the textures, you both pointed out something that I was worry about lol. I personally like different textures and materials on a shoe, but I'm not sure it fits well with an ipod. I was inspired by the ipod, but didn't want it to look too much like an ipod. The sharp angles however might be another reason why the shoe doens't seem to fit well with the ipod

Wanted (10): The Kobe (playoffs), Nike Zoom 2k3 (any white based colorway)

maybe for textures/materials you could use some chrome, like on the back of the ipod...
any comments on the fast forward sketch?

nice creativ, as long as you can make a case as to the connection to your inspiration it all good. that being the case, it still might be good to try to see how much texture you can keep and have it still look "clean -n-simple" i am thinking the same way with the one piece upper...

not sure i will have enough time to get this where i need it to be, but this is the direction i going in, some of these were before the ones i previously posted so it is not in a linear order...

No idea is original...It is never what you do, but how it is done

ak47celtics, the fast forward shoe is pretty nice. The lines flow pretty well. Although the outsole shape looks off.

creativit, yeah the textures a crazy. But i dont mind the outsole that much as its got the 'play' motif. So that was a cool touch to add. It's not so much the textures, but possibly the color blocking that really makes it seem as it doesnt fit the ipod design language. Or perhaps round those sharp corners.

tokes, very nice. Ive got like the same thing going, same thing as in wheel at ankle that helps tighten shoe. Although i would say mines more in line with peterflight's seagull jordan shoe. I might scrap mine altogether cuz its not where i want it to be.

All in all great stuff from everyone.

Good stuff every1.
Heres something I was working on in b/t homework, stuff for the ipod thing. (obviously not scanned) I'll have sketches and diff views up hopefully this week.

I wanted to have straight clean lines like the ipod and have rounded accent lines. Also, the 1st thing that came to mind was pods..I went w/ individual phylite midsole pieces (the heel is fabric-wrapped) with brs stripes and a pebax foot plate which is vizi on the lateral foot bridge. The upper is clean enough and the lines complement each other (I think). The center quarter panel is synthetic leather and the black is a mesh. The laces are covered partially by a zip the comes 3/4's up. That was taken from the ipods earbuds. The eyelets are customized, each has two options. They can be moved laterally and that cue was taken from the ipods hold button; which is how the eyelets work. Uh, the shoe doesnt have a traditional heel counter. Instead to keep it simple and clean (i.e. ipod) the heel counter is actually two pieces..lateral and medial. The lateral is under the leather which is located by the heel, where it "undents." There is a translucent toe cover and that was "inspired" by the protective casing that covers the ipod when you 1st purchase it. Thats pretty much it.

Before me there was many; after me there will be none. I am the one.

Cool stuff IYE2. I love all the little details, my fave being the eyelets/hold button detail. When I first saw it i thought the red midsole was like an engineered air max cushion. Keep up the good work.

All the designs for the nano contest are looking great! keep it up
Here's mine:
I wanted to base it around the wheel and when i thought about the zoom flight five came to mind. I used this as an inspiration. It features zoom air in the heel and the forefoot, mesh tongue, light upper and a reflective pod. also features 3m lining in certain areas like the chrome on the ipod.

Heres a couple of the concept sketches from my iPod shoe...

and heres what i sent to KG...

Question for you tokes...that blue that you do your sketches with..what is that? a ballpoint or something?

Not bad shoe artist. That heel might be a little too round, but I see what you wanted to go for and what you were trying to say with your design.

Here's what I submitted. A Puma shoe thats quite simplistic. This one is also called the Cellestial, cuz well I couldn't come up with any clever names, I decided to treat this shoe as a sequel or update. I did a lot of sketches for this and all the sketches almost literally ended up looking alike. I finished this one last night, took me 3-4 hours. I dont know why it took me that long considering the output. I hope yall enjoy and please critique or bash if you need to. I need to improve.

that's a nice design, i like how you morphed the puma stripes and the wheel, is the wheel for lockdown?, ankle support? The design is nice and simple, like the ipod, the outsole would be shaped fine but IMO it looks almost round the way you shaded it, just a minor thing though, good job, i wouldn't be suprised if i saw this in the finalists...

Thanks for the comments. The wheel is just a modified Puma disc rotor and it is for fit and stuff. I was thinking about making the center circle a quick release button. Although the button would probably be a little more recessed as there could be accidental button pressing. I probably should have scanned the sketches that shows what goes on under there.Yeah on the medial side of the outsole, I wanted it to be a little round like a tennis shoe. But I think I made it a little too round looking.

heres a marker sketch of an idea for a mars blackmon 3.5, at this stage it's not very original at all, but w/e... the idea was basically to make an air jordan III at first glance, but then when you looked closely you could see design cues from the IV.

Digital Kickz, are you talking about the pointed toe? The pointed toe might look unusual if you're not used to seeing rendered shoes, but it's actually used very commonly in renderings, if you go to a site like kicksguide.com and look at some of the renderings, you'll notice that a lot of them use the pointed toe...

^That doesn't always mean that they meant to do it....Some are more pointed then others...its just something hard to get right....
Definition for ARFF- A blocked shot or rejection.
Arffinater- One who arffs a lot.

These are just some sketch type drawings I did, but this ain't nothing compared to what I'm finna post in a minute. I designed some new dwayne wade converse shoes that is go have people taking a serious look at my shoes

The ankle opening at the top seems rather small
**making fun of myself I'm quadrofrenic mentally, not lauphing at me I'm lauphing with me accidentally**

yeah the ankle opening on 2 and 3 is wicked small, i really don't see how you could fit your foot inside. I think really all you have to do is extend the heel out farther to make adequate ankle space.

This shoe wasn't drawn as a concept and wasn't meant as an actual design but just as shoe to practice different angles. It's a basketball shoe with zoom air. comments and criticism welcome

it's not bad for just practicing views. If I were you I might try to clean up the lines, so when you do a full rendering you'll be able to do it with ease.

Any comments on my 20.5 sketches?
