Good Job on the donation but maybe the next donation should go to HIV/AIDS research or to help out Global Warming.

Thanks so much for this. :pimp:

My Dad has Juvenile Diabetes, and it's such a terrible decease. Out of Type 1, and Type 2 Diabetes, it seems Type 1 gets looked over so much. :smh:

Guys, please don't encourage other users to click the ads. The people at Google consider it a violation of their terms of service and obviously we don't need any static from them.

Even though it's ezboard, not NikeTalk, that's entered into this binding TOS agreement, we obviously would like to continue to operate Ad Sense units in order to benefit our charities so we'll have to play by their rules.

They only want you clicking the ads of your own volition, i.e. if you're actually interested in the ad itself and not because "NikeTalk told me to." If it seems to them like we're trying to artificially increase our earnings, we could be penalized and clearly we all want to avoid that.

Just wondering, how much ad revenue does NT generate every month?
It varies by month depending on traffic, clicks, and the going rate.

Unfortunately, prices are down lately and revenues aren't what they were a year ago. Part of this can be blamed on the market, though some of the blame may be attributed to our "sales team" at ezboard - or utter lack thereof.

We're not satisfied with the output, but we appreciate everyone's patience and support.

I was wondering why a donation hadn't been made in a while.
At present, not one cent of our earnings crosses our palms. As such, we rely on ezboard to render donations on our behalf. It's a unique arrangement and since it's a little outside their job descriptions we've run into plenty of hurdles along the way, which have inhibited a number of our donations.

We've actually made more donations than have been announced, so there's a bit of a backlog. We have another three or four donations that we still need to announce and then, after that, we're probably going to pool our money for a larger donation since revenues have been rather anemic in recent months.

If you like this particular selection, be sure to send VABigPoppa a thank you note. His work with the JDRF inspired this donation. We're proud to support the JDRF in its fight to cure juvenile diabetes and we all look forward to announcing new donations in the months to come.

^ Totally, props to NT for this. Can you share exactly how much revenue each click generates? Or would that be some sort of violation with Google?
Really though, I'm just here to boost my post count.

That's the rub, Google doesn't even tell you. If you check out their FAQ for publishers, there's a question asking for CPM and CPC rates (cost per thousand impressions and cost per click) and their general answer is "Want to know how much you can make? Sign up and run the ads. You'll find out when you get your check."

Under ezboard, Ad Sense is our only option. We used to run ads from other networks, which helped maximize revenues, but apparently that became too much for ezboard's dwindling staff to manage. Since ezboard manages the ad unit, I don't even have access to individualized statistics. The only figure we get from ezboard each month is our revenue total.

During the summer months we tend to experience a lull in traffic (the holiday season represents our peak), but even relative to last year our revenues are way off. It's an unacceptable situation and we're going to make sure that, one way or another, it's corrected.

So how much have we donated so far?

I've never seen an ad since I've been on NT, guess I'll start logging off every now and then and help contribute.

If you have to click it only when you are genuinely interested, why do they put games and such?

Let me phrase it another way: if you're motivated by the AD that's fine. Google doesn't want US to motivate you, though.

Nice to see NT helping in a positive way.

My question is, though, if any of the funds have yet to be put aside to facilitate a move off of ezboard. I don't think there has been a status update reguarding NT's hosting situation in a while. If we were still planning a move, saving funds now to help fund costs after we move would be beneficial to the current members, and hopefully generate more ad revenue so we can keep helping out these charities down the line.
