Nordstrom Designer Sale is up, they pretty much added a few items into their current sale.

Was interested and was trying to snipe these Valentino Jodphurs and Lanvin Chelseas but my size sold out quick.

These are pretty TTS, I would say really close to Nike airmax runners. I'm sz10 in most Nike and sz10 visvim fit the best for me.
i'm size 9 in most nike's.. and my visvim shaman are size 9 as well.. they're comfortably snug, and if i were to go up a half a size they would be to loose for my taste.. ill try to pick up a pair of mesa moc's.. really want the beige pair, but can only find them on union's site for $944

Ugh...would've been all over that damn chelsea.

Haven't decided yet if I wanna go menswear brand and get one from Carmina or just pick up one from SLP.

That's tough.

On one end the Carmina is very "dressy" and the too is a bit too sculpted (for my liking, makes it less casual and perfect with suits) while on the other end the SLPs has a real pointy toe (lending itself to work best with jeans and rock n' roll). Carminas quality is likely much, much better but what's the difference in price point?

Yeah my biggest issue is that I know Carmina will sh** on SLP in terms of quality and overall longevity. Unless someone has the oop, SLP will run $900-1000. Likely can snag Carmina for half that.

As for the sculpted toe, I actually prefer the chisel last they are on and wouldn't have much problem wearing with jeans and what not. Biggest benefit is that there would be a duality factor from my casual and menswear worlds. Maybe I have already made this decision...

They are in fact a little snug to begin with if go true size but I think they will stretch a little over time with the suede?

End have them for $8XX but I think they are sold out, I will keep my eyes open for you and will post here if I see anything.

I thought Carmina would cost more for some reason?

I only really like the chisel toe on the C&J Cottesmore (jodphur) for a more casual outing, other than that I feel it is too dressy for jeans. Personal preference of course. You got any pics of it being worn with non-dad jeans?

As for quality, really don't think you'll have to worry about SLP falling apart and just like Carmina, it can be resoled but yeah for the price it does make it a difficult decision.

Have you considered the C&J Chelsea5? I think it's a good middle ground. Been considering that too, I'm in the minority but these days the shoes that come with rubber soles are a plus and that is why C&Js been on my radar for a year or two now. I know most still detest shoes at these pricepoints without a leather sole but I'll get them topied anyways so I stopped caring.

I think Churchs Ely has nice chelsea last shape too.

I actually would prefer a rubber sole or at least I would topy.

Thanks for the suggestion but the C&J's look a tad shorter than I'd like. I know that it would be hidden by my pants anyway but still, can't pull the trigger if I don't dig the shoe.

I see what your concern is with Carmina but damb...I think I'm just gonna order these next week lol

1000

I think you should just get both, get the Carmina in cordovan and get a black pair from SLP.

The way the toe curves down on the front kills the look. They are going to look awesome with suit etc. but wont achieve it with jeans

On the Carmina, it's the sculpted/chisel toe we were talking about.

Ooo gotcha I was about to say.....

Man those are in my sz too US 12. Wonder how long those will last.

My heart will always belong to menswear.

I'm finna cop those and eventually grab an SLP Wyatt soled joint but in a suede option.

I agree.

I did say they looked fem. However, after looking at them moreso the past few days...my thoughts are beginning to change. Why that rustle you killa cam? I'm agreeing with your opinion now b. :smh:
