whoa, these are pretty dope. was this color released in smaller numbers and not a general release ? haven't really seen too many pairs of them before especially with the og box.

Sergio - You already know bro! You and have spoken about this topic a few times in person. I''ll share bits of our convo below...
The Air Force One originally came out in 82, but you can see obvious similarities slide through the years until 84-85. From what I've observed throughout years of OG I topics, I don't believe that the original Air Jordan I was even designed for Michael himself, unlike all the other game shoes to present day. It was basically just another regular shoe that Nike planned to release with their whole 1985 Nike Basketball line-up...They just decided to slap the Air Jordan wings logo on there once they signed MJ. This basketball line-up included the Nike Dunk, Terminator, Double Team, Big Nike, Team Convention, and quite a few others. That's probably why they were all so similar, like what Sergio said, the AF1 was probably designed in 81, which was years before the 85 line-up released. Very influential design cues indeed.
I'm not sure if anyone who steadily posts in here remembers the old Japanese website Tomahawk Chop (I think it's defunct now), but they had TONS of rare vintage Nike and Jordan pics (I still have some saved.) They were known for having most pics with a faux-wooden backdrop. Anyways, they had this crazy OG Jordan I Sample with OUT a logo on the ankle collar...
If you notice, this didn't have an Air Jordan logo. This is the lateral side showing, not the medial like some people might think. This was a no-logo Sales Sample, along with instaPUMP's AJKO no logo Sales Samples and the black/red no-logo Sales Samples, kinda shows that they were just a regular shoe in the line-up. Maybe I'm crazy, but that's just what I believe.

^ Yeah I would think so... I bet they were possibly even 1984 sales samples... I couldn't imagine Nike sending a sales guy around to dealers trying to sell the first Air Jordan with out even having the AJ logo on it right??? But then again, stranger things have happened...

As far as that story goes, here's an original Sample/Prototype of mine that further exploits my theory. I say Prototype because the leather is WAY different from any OG I of mine. So different that it hasn't lasted the test of time (peeling in certain areas). Glad they changed the final leather choice. Also, note the completely different sole on my pair.

On top of my head, they are the Infantry. Came in a "locker" kind of box. I don't know much info about those.
