Seriously,at first glance oregon's unis were horrible, but the more I watched the game the more I liked them. The SOD unis were very cliche so far, but asNike showed that they can put a unique design, with a personal touch (ala maryland's jerseys and fsu's) or something never seen before oregon'svoltage joints. I hope that they don't butcher uniforms such as Uconn's (imo they look like syracuse's old jerseys).

where is Nike going as far as these uniforms?what teams are getting new unis next?
Are Oregon's black unis they wore earlier releasing? will there be a white oregon jersey?

p.s. Usc should never have black unis, though they did look nice

they shoulda did more with the shorts though,
if i'm not mistaken, Oregon's shorts were just all black.

but the tops were awesome.

i just caught a glimpse of the all blacks. anybody got pics?

first time seeing these, too.

did Tinker do them?

Yea.... they were all black with a black out logo on the side i think. They had black out names one jersey's too. I thought that was hot even though itsnearly impossible to see what their name is. I wonder if eastbay is going to release the new designs the same time as they did last year when U of F, OSU,'Cuse, and Zona changed their uni's to S.O.D.

Im feelin' the blacked out USC uni's(the white ones aint bad either) as well as the new West Virginia ones. I wonder whos next.

pics of the oregon game..... and WVU on the bottom..(really cant see the whole uniform)

I really like the minimal design of oregon's black unis, though I wish the names on front and back were outlines in voltage and that the O on the shortswas voltage yellow too

i like the black jerseys.it made you pay more attention to the player, no matter how insignificant they were

I said this both yesterday and today on Uniwatch, but I, too think that the all-blacks are interesting and innovative. At first, I disliked the SOD gear butthey have gradually grown on me! Form fitting tops that are incredibly flattering completed by long, non-billowy shorts are great.

I don't care for the over-abundance of black in uniforms like Oregons, perhaps the forest/mallard green would have been a better choice but the amazinguse of colors and different dazzle material for the lettering was a breath of fresh air!

No Diamond plating, camo, or barely perceptible flames. I'm good with those omissions. And what's up with the Adidas-esque stripe patterns from lastyears gear?

i can handle most of the strange of things oregon athletics wears, but these jerseys were border-line ridiculous. Although they did look unique andinteresting, you could barely tell which school they were. And after all, that is what college is about in my opinion...the name on the front of the jersey. Ithink Nike was in the spotlight more so than Oregon u

Okay...

Unique? Yes, they were obviously unique. But was the design aesthetically sound, or good-looking by any means? No. Just because something's new anddifferent doesn't mean it's a good idea, and this is just change for the sake of change. This isn't innovation... this is just silly marketing. Iwas an Oregon player or fan, I think I'd rather have a signature look that's classy and uniquely representative of my school, not something that'spurely representative of a marketing gimmick.

Like one of the announcers said during the game, "These uniforms should be put in a trunk and buried under McArthur Court."

You're right--"old and typical" does not necessarily mean a great look. But when I said "a signature look that's classy and uniquelyrepresentative of my school", that doesn't necessarily mean old and typical. If you're trying to establish a new look, you can be innovativewithout having to resort to gimmicks like this. What's the point in having the school name printed on the front and the player name on the back if youcan't even read them? There is none... this is change for the sake of change.

I'm all for new and innovative, and I think that some (not all) of the Oregon football uni's have been pretty hot. I'm digging a lot of theS.O.D. uniforms, and I'm feeling a lot of the new, original looks out there in college sports that break away from "old and typical". But thisOregon look isn't a visual identity--it's just a gimmick.

i agree, Voltage yellow for the O on the shorts would have been amazing.

any word on if they'll be on sale on eastbay or anything?

I went to Maryland. I love how are uniforms are the practically the same with just a little twist to them

I am usually open to Nike's "revolution" of college uniforms. I must say though that Oregon's uni's were bad. They looked like a teamfresh of the YMCA circuit. The names and Oregon were blacked out, so all you would see is a team with black shorts and with black tops with only the numberbeing visible. As if the equipment manager lost the unis and had to buy black jerseys at Big 5/Sports Chalet. What is next? White Oregon uni's with thenumbers that look as if they were made with a permanent marker/spray paint/tape.

I like how Nike plays with uni's, but they get an F for this one.

Nike is trying to distract people from the fact that they are 8th in the Pac-10. Either that or they're making the team wear those ugly all blacks aspunishment

I loved them....especially how the names were glossy black in contrast to the matte of the uniform itself. I do agree that outline of the names and logo wouldabeen nice, but overall, I dug 'em
