STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Fellas, I do a routine that includes deadlifts and squats and feel like after deadlifts, my body needs more time to recover. I don't want to eliminate deadlifts from my workout though.

So, here is what my routine generally looks like:

1st Day on:
Bench Press - 3x 8-12 reps - 185lbs
Close grip press - 3 x 8-12 reps - 145lbs
Incline dumbell press - 3 x 8-12 reps - 65lbs
military dumbell press 3x8-12 - 60 lbs
Cable Flys - 3x 8-12 -70lbs
Push Downs - 3x 8-12 70 lbs

2nd Day on:
Deadlifts - 3 sets of 5-8reps - 225 - 275 lbs (My max would be around 2 reps at 300lbs)
Pull Downs - 3 x 8-12 reps - 150 lbs
Rows - 3x 8-12 reps - 125 lbs
Barbell Curls - 3x8-12- 90lbs
Dumbell Curls 3x 8-12 -50 lbs

3rd Day on:
Squats - 3 sets of 8-12reps - 225-275lbs
Leg Curls for the hammys - 3x8-12 reps- 70lbs
Toe raises - 3x8-12-180 lbs
Barbell Curls - 3x8-12 - 90 lbs
Push Downs - 3x8-12 - 70 lbs

4th Day off:

What do ya'll think? Is my volume too high? Should I do deadlifts every other week.
No your not doing too much volume in my opinion. I do a PPL and have a good amount more volume then you.

Not throwing random Athlete names out there but you think any NBA Players taking anything? I know there was talk a while back about Test possibly being used by players,

Would be intrigued to see if LeBron or Dwight ran a minor course of Test or something

i saw him in 2009.........down in ATL
i feel like dudes use something, but its not nearly as heavy as a lot of the stuff dudes use in other sports

idk anyone at the pro level, but ive known many D1 hoopers who dont use anything and can jump out the gym and are dum fast, but then again those guys are super frail 6'2-6'4 170lb types

if a basketball player takes something, its usually not for stuff like that, its to make them stronger and increase endurance

no doubt theyll get faster and jump higher, but theyres a limit theyre already close to from their true athleticism, gravity still exists
 
My diet was mainly tuna, salmon, chicken breast (skinless, never fried), steamed veggies, oatmeal, eggs, water. Took protein w/ creatine.

Workout consisted of mostly freeweights since I didn't like the smith machine
Dumbell press
Dumbell incline press
Arnold press
Squat (Smith Machine)
Leg Press
Row
Lunges
pull-ups
Dips
played bball for cardio

Mind u this was months ago so I can't remember routine
definitely not enough calories being taken in and that's not an effective muscle building routine. Like someone else said, you definitely need more volume

Yea, I figured that. It was working in the beginning but definitely fell off quick. I think my main focus is strength more than bulking. I'll figure it out. Just learn from those that are doin it/have done it
 
If you actually care about strength, move away from Planet Fitness brah. A gym without barbells - is it really a gym?
 
that Russian chicks face is decent to me and her body is amazing. Ill have no probably dating her if shes cool let alone lay the pipe game.

any1 else that plays basketball feels like his shot is geting "Destroyed" cause of weight lifting ? i have got like 15kgs since last year , majority of it muscle , i keep raising the weight in chest/tricep/shoulder exercises and i had to change my shooting style but still my shot is not as effective as it was before 6 months : ( .Only way to find back my shot is by hitting 500shots after weights : ( ?

Sounds about right or get in the gym 3-4 days a week to work on your shot.

I def had to work to change my shot because my lifting was affecting it, but I feel like the extra strength has made my shot better. Like there's less moving parts since my arms are stronger and can compensate
