I gave him the benefit of the doubt after his 2nd win. But he just rants and rants about "disrespect" which is anyone who disagrees with him

Backstage after his third Mr. Olympia victory, Phil Heath had a few things to get of his chest regarding his rivalry with two-time runner-up Kai Greene...

THE RIVALRY

“Kai’s an amazing person. As far as bodybuilding is concerned, he’s an awesome champion. He’s just not a Mr. Olympia champion. And I feel like he’s a guy who wants what I have, and I’m standing in his way. I’m standing in his way just like Jay [Cutler] had Ronnie [Coleman] in his way. And it’s a war. So I don’t feel sorry for him at all. I’m trying to win. This is my title.”

RESPECT

“I don’t hate the dude. I just want him to respect me. Because I never disrespected him. He disrespected me first. As a champ you should never be disrespected by someone who isn’t the champ. You ain’t cocky if you complete the task. If I say I’m going to win and then I win, that’s not cocky. That’s just telling it like it is. I refuse to let anyone discredit my hard work and talent. I refuse to do that any more. I’m a three-time Mr. Olympia. I deserve his respect.”

HARD WORK

“I just think he has the wrong idea about me. I think that he thinks it’s all about gifts and ******—t. But at the end of the day, hard work beats talent if talent doesn’t work hard. And I worked my *** of to be where I am in this world, and he cannot discredit that any more after what he saw tonight and last night [on the Mr. Olympia stage].”

HARD LIFE

“No one has gone through what I went through this year, period.” [This is a reference to his family health concerns, especially his wife’s breast cancer.] “And Kai has been able to tell his story about his hardships in life. But he’s not the only person. And I think the way I’ve been portrayed is as if Phil has this easy-*** life. They didn’t know what I went through at 3 years old, having a broken home and stuf like that, because that’s not for them to know about. That’s my personal life. I just feel like sometimes [Kai] plays the victim. And people will come up to me and say, ‘Why do you have animosity toward him?’ And I don’t have animosity toward anyone. It’s just that he’s not the only person who goes through stuff.”

DISRESPECT

"He disrespected me by signing that poster as Mr. Olympia [at the Athletes’ Meeting], and he’s been signing his autograph all weekend saying he’s the 2013 Mr. Olympia...If I were to do that, people would say Phil Heath is cocky. When did I ever do that? I never signed Mr. Olympia until I was Mr. Olympia. I never touched a Sandow until I was able to touch my own. So that’s the respect I’ve had for this sport.”

FINAL WORDS

“When did I ever come after him? Never. He always came after me and said I was gifted as if I didn’t have to work to be Mr. Olympia. He should know that I worked my *** of just like him. And I’m just better than him, and he can’t accept it. These are facts."

Before his 1st win he would regularly come on BB.com and interact with the forums. About a day after his 2nd win, he sent a message stating he's not coming back to the forums cause people were "disrespectful". Basically anyone who said Kai should of won or Kai gave him a run for his money was disrespectful.

As of recent he's been back on BB.com chopping it up with people. But he always seem to get butt hurt over anything or anyone that doesnt agree with his point of view.

rattled with three sandows. If I was rattled, I wouldn't have came out the way I did 2013 with everything going on in my life. If you read the article clearly and not be so biased, you'll recognize the fact I presented which is Kai and I aren't looked through the same lens. Let me act like him and see how I'd be judged. Let's be honest here, don't try and b.s. me neither its a fact that I can post anything online and it become newsworthy. I say one thing out of context and I can be called horrible things which he can do some dissing and no one even bats an eye. Read the article please. Oh and I am still laughing, especially when I say how his fans had to eat crow yet again after Friday night.

Had an "arm day" for the first time in a long time...... it was brutal. I was soooo bored. How the hell do people actually get a workout from that and actually enjoy it??

You'd probably get an answer to that question if you went in any gym in Queens or Long Island

Last Friday i went to the gym at night for a quick chest workout because i didnt work up that morning.

two guys came in a little after me and set up a super set circuit of dumbell curls and a e-z bar curl. They were there for at least an hour and when i left they were still curling :x

whenever I see the name kai..this comes to mind

one of the weirdest thing i saw was this older couple that set up in the squat rack. they had all kinds of bands and straps and crap. they made a small pile of the small dumbells. laid out their waterbottles, towels, mats and whatever else. slid some chairs over there. and then pulled out a big portable dvd player and put on some fricken insanity or something. they hogged the rack for over an hour

i was like bless them old folks. at least they healthy.

Can someone please take 30 seconds of their time to critique my deadlift form? :\

Im no deadlift expert at all but your form is fine to me. I would suggest trying to start in a lower position and keep your upper back tight, contract your shoulders. To be honest the best way to see someones form is when they use a weight that causes their form to break down. I would put something closer to 85% of your max and record it

Check out Jonnie Candito on YouTube he has a great video on how to DL properly.

When you set it back down, should look the same way as you lift off the ground.

Set it with your legs, and not just your back.

I always over emphasize my pull ( will help you focus on throwing your hips into it and also help when you get into heavy weight)

It's not about Kai.

When an ish load people think you're an arrogant douche, chances are they're right. Phil is extremely sensitive and doesnt do well with criticism. He got butt hurt when people called him narrow, but from a bodybuilding standpoint he was narrow. People had jokes on Jay Cutler for years and said his waist resembled a fridge. Ronnie, arguably the greatest bodybuilder ever had jokes made about him as well. Ronnie and Jay are on the forums, IG and FB as well, and they take things is stride and they get 100% respect from almost everyone. They EARNED the respect, Phil is demanding respect because he won Olympias. And that to me is just not admirable.

NAH I FEEL U.

IT MAY BE A GENERATIONAL THING U KNOW

LOOK AT THE LEBRON/KOBE NBA STAR ERA.

BUNHCA CRYBABIES
Ha ha you're right. They're more exposed to the masses via social media and they dont know how to handle the negativity and/or criticism.
Phil is the first "social media mr olympia" and he's not doing a good job at taking on the responsibility.

One of my only pet peeves at the gym is when you ask someone to spot you and they help you lift the weight instead of actually just spotting you :smh:

bigboss bigboss bwood056 bwood056 Thanks bros. I follow Candito Training already but I gotta make sure to remember his tips. I don't feel any more lower back pain so this is a big improvement for me already.

:smh: There is an art to "spotting." Unfortunately, many people don't know. I was trying to max out the other day and this dude is dragging the weight up.

A spotter is there to make sure the weight doesn't drop on your chest. If the weight is going up slowly, DON'T TOUCH IT!

Worked up to 435 on sumo DLs today, felt goooood, had the knees shaking a bit at the top lol

Does anyone here travel extensively? Been traveling the last 2 days living off unhealthy and expensive airport foods :frown:. Need a gym session ASAP.

Wanted to hit the gym last night in -6 degrees at the hotel but didn't have gym shoes. Seriously thought about doing it in Chukkas

i have to travel for a couple weeks at a time for work. the hotel gyms i stay at are :x :smh: barely any equipment, if any, and maybe 1-2 treadmills/ellipticals, thats it.

in these cases, i try to incorporate some WOD's (even though i dont do crossfit anymore) with body weight exercises or some dumbbells.

Until the bar drops on you. I may not know the art of spotting but I will tap on the bar with my figures for a little help or guide the bar up with my figures until the bar is just there mid air and your arm are doing the stanky leg.

Im just the dude trying to help you in the gym so you dont catch a case like this dude.
