IIFYM IS NOW BEING REGURGITATED AS GOSPEL

BUT BRO WERENT YIU OFFERING ADVICE ON CLEAN EATING LAST YEAR BUT NOW YOU DENOUNCE IT

SMH TRENDHOPPERS
Well, technically speaking, IIFYM is the gospel. Biologically as well as metabolically, it is a sound theory. Most people just never wanted to, or still don't want to admit it, because it hinders the supplement market. So if you're in the industry with funding and ****, you're gonna have to keep your mouth shut on it and preach clean eating and supplementation.

Its the gospel in regards to what? Weight loss?

great read on nutrition if you have time to kill.

J Beaty: What are the most ignorant dietary theories and philosophies out there that are still incorporated by the bb population?

L Norton: 1. Don't eat carbohydrates after 'X' o'clock. People believe that since they are closer to sleeping they should curtail carbohydrate intake, this is simply ludicrous. Carbohydrates at night don't make you fat; too many total calories make you fat.
A Aragon: The bodybuilding population as a whole is carbophobic. And I’m talking about carbs in all forms. Don’t get me wrong, in the event that calories must be reduced, or reduced to a heightened degree such as pre-contest, its plain stupid to incur a protein deficiency. But in general, bodybuilders are just plain afraid of carbs. Hell, only a small percentage of bodybuilders are up on the science of the matter, so the rest are victims of the asinine mass media just like every other layperson. Would it alarm you to know that the majority of “serious” recreational and competitive bodybuilders are literally afraid to have carbs in their final meal? Imagine that, they’re mortally afraid of muscle loss while simultaneously being afraid of a key tactic that can enhance lean mass preservation. True story.

On those same lines, you have the carbophobes who have a mortal fear of insulin, yet megadose highly insulinogenic BCAA during training. What a lot of folks don’t realize is that amino acids can elicit substantial insulin responses. On those same lines, you have folks who are stuck on acute substrate utilization during training. I was talking to a friend of mine Alwyn Cosgrove the other day (Braveheart is still a cool movie even though Mel lost it), and the following realization dawned on me as a matter of what we discussed:

Caring about how much fat is burned during cardio makes as much sense as caring about how much muscle is built during weight training.

I recently had a rather public debate, and by all counts absolutely destroyed my opponent’s argument that fasted cardio was across the board better for fat loss than fed cardio. He was focused on acute effect (during & shortly after exercise), not long-term effect, or anything close to the research blatantly refuting his stance.

IIFYM has worked well for me, just play with the percentages at times. If it ain't broke.

Anything. There is not a single biological or metabolic issue with IIFYM to either muscle gain or weight loss. Now there are certainly benefits to eating healthier (vitamins, minerals, fiber, etc.) but as far as calories go, they're all the same. IIFYM can definitely lead to other issues such as cholesterol, certain vitamin deficiencies and the like, but its caloric basis is completely and totally sound. I personally (along with most of the dietetics community) consider STRICT (keyword: strict) clean eating to be an eating disorder. It fits all the characteristics of binge, remorse, sudden weight fluctuations, etc.

How do you guys plan your meals? Do you use recipe books and pre make most of your meals on Sunday? Or do you guys just make it as you feel neccesary?

Sounds boring, but I keep it simple.

Chicken Breast/Veggies
Rice, mostly brown, some times white.

I play with the seasonings on the chicken, and mix up veggies. Some times it's leafy greens (Spinach, Kale, etc), sometimes its brocolli, asparagus, etc.

Sweet potatoes, there are some good easy recipes out there, find something I like and I stick to it for a couple of weeks.

Eggs, don't really mess with success, simple scrambled eggs for me and when they are boiled I just eat the egg whites.

KISS...

I brown bag it to lunch, but if I'm not feeling it that day, I'll eat out. Nothing bad like McDonalds, but I will get a grilled chicken sandwich somewhere.

No such thing as eating clean and eating "strict" is just a practice in futility.

My guy Scooby doing a Half Ironman. OMG @ the spectators. I kinda want to do one now for those feels (I can't swim though).

I treat my body like a well oiled machine and feed it the best fuel possible.

Had a horrible session today, didn't even hit all my reps. Ive been trying to cut weight this week on 2k calories and I just started working outside again. I don't think its going to work out, I refuse to lose strength just to make a lower weight class.

Zyzz didn't die from not doing cardio. He died from a unknown pre existing heart condition that was contributed to by his use of steroids.

Its sad that a lot of people straight worship him, because the lifestyle he lived was at the very least reckless.

ughhhh i understand why and i've done the same but 2k or less really sucks and the strength loss is demoralizing. dropping my cut and going back to some strength work has been good for my spirit but bad in the mirror

Random question, I need to work an over night shift and I was looking into an energy drink to help me out. Has anyone used Speed Stack before?

Did my first barbel complex. Power clean with a push press, worked up to 255, couldn't lock out 275 on the push press. Starting to become addicted to Olympic lifting more than ever

yerba mate tea.

Pretty strong stuff...

Sambazon has a low calorie acai, yerba mate energy drink that's pretty cool.

Guayaki tea is also pretty potent in a can, like 180mg of caffeine, but has more sugar.

I should've checked back before I went to gnc. I bought the Speed Stack but the cashier ended up giving me to 2 samples of C4 Extreme which are 2 servings each.
