STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

That's why I take pride in my form. I might not push the most weight around but you better believe my form will be on point.
Trust when you work your way up form will save you from a lot of injuries.

I think i am past it for the most part since I am not much of an ego lifter.  But some times the quarter squatters and the leg press hero's get me.  There is one dude at our gym who loads the leg press up with every single 45 it fits.  Puts his hands on his knees and does 3 baby reps with hands on knees pushing forward the whole time.  Then racks it as loudly as he can.  He only squats about 315 (or thats the most ive seen him do).  And same thing...pokes his but out and just stands back up.  After the mad man routine of course...tighten belt...shrug shoulders...grab bar vigourously...bend knees a bunch...jam head under bar.....quarter squat away.

Yessir. Which is what people don't understand. The reason there is a correct form for everything is become it engages the muscles needed for maximum power transfer. Dudes to drop the weight a little, work on that form for a few weeks and make gains in the long run.

What's a good meal plans for shredding weight healthy like anyone got tips for breakfast lunch dinner I'm trying to cut

^Calorie in vs calories out.

Find how much you need to gain/lose weight. There are calculators out there.

Divide that number by roughly 5-6 meals a day.

I will for sure, Im about 4 lbs over today so I should be able to do it without getting to drastic. I read about the hot showers Ill have to try it out and see if it works. Im gonna pack some bagels, rice, PB sandwiches, maybe some gummy worms and gatorade to refuel with. I know those foods are random as hell but Ive had my best training sessions after eating so I figured thats what Ill take, plus Im OCD as hell lol

Did Dan lift off for everybody on the team? Do you get to train with him a lot? Thats so damn cool man, super jelly.

Haha, i was eating lifesaver gummies and drinking powerade all day.

Yes, Dan does lift off if u ask him to. He helped every lifter from boss barbell. I dont workout with him much, but ill lift off for him when he benches in the gym, just because he wants a strong deadlifter to spot him always, cause he's regularly benching 450+.

Sometimes hes training at midnight, dude has so many clients that keep him busy.

For all the bay area folks, i recommend u check out boss barbell in mountain view

Brand new LA fitness in Towson MD has their smoothie/juice bar space open for lease. Waiting to hear back on the lease details. Good or bad idea as a side business? Area is pretty affluent. Diverse group of people. Place is pretty busy. Still doing some other research and having a relative in business development/ caputre management give me her take on it. Wanted to see what the NT bros thought though. FYI - I dont expect to get rich off this venture, but am seriously considering it if I can turn a decent profit.

id say do it if you got cash and know how to make a good smoothie

def can make some money off that

Yep. And if you throw in the supplements in there, you'll be golden.

Dude's taking creatine thinking it will do something if they take it once a week.

Anybody else hip? I don't do dairy so I have been looking for an all natural protein powder that I can pronounce each ingredient on sight.

Found An All Natural Protein: Sun Warrior Vegan Protein

Bought the Chocolate flavor. Mix with frozen bananas, cinnamon, almond milk, and PB :smoke8

Nutrabio. It's lactose free, with very few ingredients. I use it, because dairy without lactase pills makes me develop acne.

The NOW foods isolate is 98% lactose free too. It has more additives than the other brand however.

The space is already built out with sinks, granite, and a display case. I have plenty of ideas for supplements, add ins, single serve PWO and creatine, frequent buyer discounts, etc. Good lighting and space for advertising. Almost entriely dependent on the lease terms, bus. licensing, and what we find out about the market.

The built-in juice stations at the gyms I've been to haven't done too well. But then again these were generic Jamba Juice clones with nothing unique about them.

The juice stations are also pretty expensive around me. $7 for a shake smh, you might as well just go to chipotle and get actual food.

Thats awesome. Dude is a freak, Id like to see him do some Oly lifts, I know he did some back in the day. I feel like everyone there benches like him from what Ive seen lol Some people think he would get red lighted in the IPF and more strict feds.

His 915 from blocks is still one of the craziest things Ive ever seen.

I would do it if it wasn't a risk financially.

Personally I would add a grille and have real food for people to eat after their workout, along with all the smoothies/shakes/supps they could want.

All good points, and considerations I've made. I'd agree that historically the ones in the gyms dont do too well. The bar at the other LA I frequent has been through a few different people over the years and doesnt do great.

However....I blame this on a variety of factors -- Overpriced, they dont have anything unique, no marketing or advertising, crappy management, crappy ingredients, overpriced, unfriendly or boring staff, etc.

Any other ideas or thoughts please keep them coming, def good to hear this feedback.

Offering food is a great idea. Simple chicken breast, tuna, salads etc. A lot of people who go to the gym and end up using the juice bars are people who have busy schedules and dont have that much time to get that nutrition. having actual food on deck would be clutch

Any small biz involves at least some financial risk. Luckily this is a lease... i figure worst case I lose the lease money and any equipment/ inventory if it flops.

I'd consider that. Still looking into what certs I need as far as the health dept goes. I do know that bringing cooked food and meat into the equation complicates it some, plus wouldnt want to start out with too many things going on. A meat and carb market for people about our lifestyle is my dream venture, but isnt anywhere near realistic from a market persepctive.
