STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

The pain Is only on one side of my lower back, do y'all think it is a strain or herniated disk? I lost my insurance card and new ones come in beginning of the year, I also see ish on line about it could be kidney problems but only symptom I display is the sharp pain.

Do y'all think I should avoid elliptical and just do stationary bike or just not do any cardio till my back feels right?

I know this isn't good advice, but I always just stretch and work through little bumps like that.. if they get worse/are there still after a week or two I'll get it checked out..

unless I just KNOW its an injury, I'll work through it

BTW ya'll. Today someone asked me "How did you get so big all of a sudden?" But you KNOW what he was tryna imply. I was honest and said, "I used to be really big but took a big break so it was easy to get back. Been in over 2 months now consecutively and eating right." He gave me the "mhmm. ok nod." :smh:

But what DOES irk me is the people I KNOWWWWWWW are on some type of extra **** but when you ask them what they take they say, "oh just whey." naw homie. nawwwwwwwwww. Especially when they are massive with every single vain popping out but when you see what they lift and HOW they lift it it's an embarrassment

It sets off such an unfair balance of where everyone really is at and if they are doing ok or not.

NATURAL.

The summer between 11th and 12th grade this dude in my class came back HUGE. Gained like 35 lbs straight muscle and people weren't trying to believe he took something. He had black genetics (of peace  , no racist just a thing on bb.com) but still I dont think its possible even with noob gains

Another thing i'll never ever understand is anotehr dude in my class was like 6'4 320 lbs. We went on Christmas break ( 2 weeks) and he came back weighing like 140

Even with some surgery or w/e I dont get it!!! STill makes no sense to me!!

idk...sounds grossly exaggerated. which may be the case. 11th grade juicing? doubtful. Dude probably just put on size, which for a growing boy is easy to do. and if you couple that with eating alot and lifting and getting a bunch of sleep due to it being summer vacation, gains are likely. He could've put on the size but the actual weight gain may not have matched that.

+150lb weightloss in 2 weeks? improbable. This...I cant even begin to make make sense loll.

I'm just replacing squat with light weight leg press, and a lot of my free weight excersises with the machine version and not messing with dead lift.

taking a break while you heal isn't going to affect your gains my dude. Long as you continue breathing, you have all the time in the world to reach your goals. If you're in pain, and you aren't competing or working with time sensitive tests, it would behoove you to just lay off of that area completely for a while. Focus on other stuff...arms...chest...calves...forearms...your back and legs will still be there when you get back. And then they'll be healed and ready to go hard again.

Don't do leg press? And can I still do close grip cable pulldowns for my lats?

i know its not the best diet but worked damn well for me, i was never hungry. remember you can eat a lot of chicken, that helps
also i would have a whey after workout

Sounds a lot like what what I was doing, I just being lazy the past few months since my break up of a 7 yr relationship. I keep telling myself that I'm going to get back fully but I end up failing. Damn excuses wtf is wrong with me.

Nah bro this **** has never made sense to me either !! He was skinny and came back football player sized. I know he was in his prime for gaining weight and everything but still.. ill never understand these 2 things lol.. the other dude, I might be remembering wrong but I rememebr seeing him before we went on break then next time I saw him he had blue hair and was a completely different person

the rock has access to the best endos, cell tech, hgh, yadda yadda. natty not even once. those quads are looking sick though.

I'd avoid anything that puts any pressure on the area of discomfort. I'd try to rest that area completely. You have plenty of other body parts that you focus on so you dont feel like you're just loafing. Of course if cable pulldowns feel fine for you, go for it. You can do anything that doesn't directly put pressure on the area of discomfort. Of course continuing to work the area that hurts, sure it'll eventually heal, but you only making that healing time longer and longer. and depending on how it heals, it could development further issues like tendonitis n ****. ant that takes forever to go away because any little thing can set it off again. better safe than sorry.

Gotta just brush all that off.

Some people can put on mass quick due to genetics.  I've always been that way.  Let the people who need a lil extra do them.  Not worth it for me.  Besides, half the fun in getting the physique you want is the grind of it all.

Disagree.
Elliot Hulse and Hodgetwins are better than POG IMO.
IceCreamFitness is also pretty good as well.
But to each their own...
Ehhh never checked pit Huse I'll take a look. The Howdgetwins are just annoying to me and spit out whatever they read somewhere. CJ is a beast and motivates me to get in the gym. But your right to each his own.

Rock is for sure on the bike in that last pic, he's always been a beast but you can tell he's getting a lil help from something else, dem traps

:wow: The Rock must have a insane workout. I wouldnt be surprised if he was on that Barry Bonds though.

Hit chest today.

-Incline dumbells.
- Flat bench dumbells.
- Wide dips.
- Dumbell flys.

So I'm going to the gym today, pretty much my first time. What would you guys recommend I start off doing? I'm in decent shape, definitely don't need to lose weight, actually want to gain some. Not trying to develop some crazy muscles or anything like that. What would a good routine be for me? Thanks

What's crazy muscles mean

^

Look up Rippletoe's Starting Strength. Everyone seems to recommend that.

You can try your own routine though, maybe split it into a push muscle day and pull muscle day, and legs.

Center it around compound workouts (bench press and deadlift for example) and then you can do iso workouts (bicep curls, shoulder flies) after the compound lifts.

You can maximize "noob gains" with a workout plan like Starting Strength though.

Is a M-W-F (or something to that effect) workout split doing compound lifts each day be a good workout? Im severely slacking on my shoulder/chest days cause of my shoulder issue. I figure full body workouts, heavy on M, 20% less on W, light on F would be something to try.

Recommendations?
