STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

I either throw a scoop of aminos in my water jug and drink on that or crystal light/other similar products. I'm addicted to ICE Sparkling Water drinks tho, they're so
pimp.gif
I grab a couple packs from Sam's when I can or load up on em at the grocery store. If some of y'all have never had those ICE drinks then try em today, my personal favorite is the black raspberry. Your're welcome lol

I documented my process several times throughout the first thread when we first started it.

I was always a chubby kid in middle and high school. I was around 180 lbs at 5'10". I ballooned up to 220 lbs in undergrad due to late night studying and bad eating habits. I just wanted to drop to 180 lbs, my initial weight. I started doing Muay Thai, stopped eating fast foods on the regular and cut out alcohol. I dropped down to 180 lbs in several months. I kept going to see how far I can push it. Within a year, I was down to like 140 lbs. People who didn't see me for a while swore I was doing drugs or got surgery to shred the lbs

At that time I was still in school so I was able to watch what I ate. I pretty much ate lean turkey ($20 for a Foreman grill was a great investment!). I only ate out like once a week. I didn't start lifting weight until almost a year later, this is the only thing I would've done differently if I can so I can retain some of the muscles I had. I did Muay Thai 5-6 times a week, and they were really just one big cardio session. I attended the first Muay Thai gym in the states and the cats there were really OG, like I had to talk to them in Thai because they spoke no English. It would be like 5 mins of jump roping, then 40 mins of combo stuff, ie 10 high kicks, mid kicks, knees, etc. and pairing up punches. The last 10 mins or so was for sparring.

I stopped because of injuries and I got a job out of school so I couldn't go to Muay Thai classes as often. I then joined 24 Hr Fitness, which I still go to today. That was when I started talking to the dudes on the OG thread, which were Joe Camel and Al Audi. I started eating to by BMR, and started gaining weight a bit.

I love HIIT, I do that now at the gym for cardio (though it's not really true HIIT since the treadmill does cap out at a certain point).
so what what youre telling us that if it came down to it you could see somebody wit da hands and feet easily

 I'm not a fighter by any means. I'm probably one of the most peaceful dudes you'll ever meet. It'll be self defense if I ever have to do it again. After doing it for a while, you can def see who knows how to fight within the first few seconds. Like dudes who palm their hands and keep them low at waist level and stand straight and not staggered...those guys will get dropped quickly because they aren't guarding their heads. I've only used to have this twice on the streets. I want to get back into it, but as I age older, the injuries become more prone. Even with shin pads, sometimes I'll have like bruises and swelling the size of a golf ball

Yo Quest protein chips aint bad.

Very airy and light though, but taste decent and cant believe its 120 cals and 21g of protein.

I do conventional deads, and sometimes my back rounds

Any tips? I've tried a wider grip as well

I have this pain in my big toe. makes it a bit painful on all leg exercises.

been there for a minute though, dont know how to really heal it.

comfortably squated 275 2 sets 10 reps yesterday.

used knee wraps though. (I dont know who considers that a super help or not. )

Ankle mobility, abs, hips, and hamstrings.

This. Also don't forget to stretch your calves. When they are tight they can cause your heels to come up and make you lean forward.

There have been times when I did not warm up enough, try to DL and get frustrated not knowing why I could not get my form down only to come back to them at the end of a workout after everything had been loosened up and knock them out easily.

It depends on which ones you use and how tight you wrap them.

If you just want something to keep your knees warm I would get some sleeves.

Deads go better for me after getting on the bike for 10-15. If being loose doesn't help, your form is probably off.

Plain water does get old. I've recommended it before - True Lemon and Lime drink mix, no artificial sweetners and taste damn good.

Did deads today, 353x10 for 2 sets. Most cardio I've done in awhile. Can anyone recommend me some good durable straps

I prefer leather straps. Mine are Altus. I have no idea why they're $42 on Amazon though. I think I got them from Richards sporting goods or sports authority for less than $20.

Ive never used sleeves
I do wrap pretty thoroughly. Ill keep working on it til I dont neeed them at all. Ill go buy some knee sleeves also.

For wrist straps I use versa grips. Well worth the $50

Do you have any loose skin and is it visible on your tummy?

How can I increase my wrist mobility/flexibility for front squats? Been using straps since I can't do Olympic style and don't like crossed arm .

Damn near passed out at the gym today. :smh:

Freaked me out because I go to the gym 4 times a week and lift heavy and this is the first time this has happened.

Did some squats at 295 and it felt good. Felt them GAINZ forming. :pimp:

Did 4 sets of 10 and then I tried to walk to the next spot to do some calf raises. All of the sudden my legs went all Bambi on me and I almost fell. Sat down and just felt dizzy and felt like I was about to throw up :x this feeling wouldn't go away but I was determined. I was not about to be that dude taken out of the gym on a gurney. :smh: stumbled over to the water fountain, drank some water and felt better. Then I stumbled out of the gym and got some fresh air and almost felt 100%. It was just strange. I decided to call it a day after that. After just one excercise. Felt real soft. :smh:

I think it had to do with the nose bleeds I had during the night. My building puts out dry *** heat in my apartment for some reason.

All bad. Anyone ever something like this happen to them?

Hit 275 x 4 benching today trying to get to 290 before the year is over , tomorrow is leg day I've been punking out my max is 285x5 but I'm trying 315 squat tomorrow .

You were there back when Malaipet was still there, right? I think I remember you posting something about that.

ผมก็พูดไทยได้

I know the longing to train again, I trained in Thailand for 3.5 years and the itch never goes away.

Anybody else hate the the time it takes to get your lifts back to where they were when you quit? I'm still 55lbs away from what I was dead lifting and I'm about 3 months deep in my return to weights. Aggravating as hell.

Never had it happen to me. Maybe once or twice I've been seriously dizzy after a workout, to the point where I've had to pull my car over.

To have it happen during a workout and so early in the session, nah.

Be thankful that **** didn't happen while you were underneath the bar!

Did you eat anything before your workout at all ?

Yea I already had 2500 calories at that point and I ate a some yogurt right before so I didn't feel hungry. That's my routine every day., that's why I'm a little worried.

That's what I was thinking. If that **** happened while that bar was on top of me. I don't even want to think about it. :smh:

I'm gonna take it easy and lighten up the load on my lifts for this week.
