STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

for the chat about lifting shoes earlier I'll say what I usually say when people at my gym approach me about my shoes:

powerlifters swear by chucks. especially for squats and deadlifts. I tell people to get flexible and spend time in that "third world squat" to open up those hips and get that ATG. It can be done w/o lifting shoes. I don't need lifting shoes to get my *** all the way down in any squat.

I wear these:

they are not cheap. not at the slightest. Adidas actually makes a pair that's $200, which is slightly more than these. I don't use them to dead lift..but I do use them every time I'm in the gym. they're olympic lifting shoes..and I olympic lift pretty much every day (as in, I stay on the platform during my whole time there..aka i am that ******* who stays on the squat rack/platform for hours)

If someone comes up to me and tells me they want them for squats and dead lifts...I tell them how most power lifters just wear chucks. if you wanna spend $180 for some shoes to do two basic lifts, be my guest.

ps. I probably made NO sense whatsoever

I wish I saw all these good looking shoes when I was looking for my lifting hows. My DoWins get the job done though, but I wanna lift in some loud neon joints lol

Gym closes at noon today and isn't open at all tomorrow

Wanted to get a good day before all the resolutionists show up

Great workout today, good way to end the year!

Ready to start next year off right tomorrow! Dreading the new years crowds that are gonna be there though

Killed chest yesterday doing 20-16-12 reps. 4th set I burned out.
How do you guys burn out on chest and how often?

Try to do difficult Pushups immediately after or choose a low weight and try to hit a high number of reps.. I think the cable press is very good as well..

You mean after you're completely done with the chest workouts?

Every monday when I do chest.

Whats your burnout routine?

Ima be hungover as hell tomorrow  but thankfully the 24 hour fitness here is open tomorrow. I'ma make sure I hit the gym hard to make up for tonight's festivities.

It actually makes me feel better about tonight knowing I can make up for it tomorrow :pimp:

my gym is actually doing regular hours today and tomorrow, so 24hrs. but I think I'm gonna call it a year. I need a break, my body needs the rest. I'll get back in there Wednesday. Definitely not looking forward to the holiday crowds though. That's gonna suck as my spot is already pretty crowded. I don't have a prob with people wanting to get their bodies in order, more power to them, just don't get in my way because you're still buzzing off that temporary New Years resolution high.

I would not recommend these for the average joe blow. Since you're power lifter it makes sense. I would say if you very serious about your squats, deadlift, cleans, etc and lifting for more than a year than go for it. I wore Olympic shoes in college for track and they plant your feet very well.

Luckily I have a very basic gym at my building: treadmill, hoist machine, weights. Been attending regularly for a month but looking to attend a better gym mid-february when the crowds die down. I miss those cardio bunnies |I.

Just finished my upper body workout (beginner)
--Treadmill 30min
--Pushups 3 x 10
--Seated cable row 3 x 10
--Standing shoulder press 3 x 10
--Lat pull down3 x 10
--Ab crunch w/feet elevated on bench 3 x 10
--Reverse crunch 3 x 10
--Biceps Curls 3 x 10

Really had trouble with the pushups and the ab crunches, should have added them from the beginning :smh:, will try this out for a month. Wednesday will be lower body. Friday IDK :rolleyes.

Speaks the truth..all them new peoples get the evil eye by all the regs in the gym..should be a sign hung up in every gym stating "New members beware"

My gym is now getting crowded in the wee hours of the morning when it was usually not as crowded. Now I not only have this one guy who's always staring at me, this creepy middle aged guy walked over to me when I was bench pressing and started stretching right in front of me, like several inches away from my face :smh::x:x:x:x:x

Everyone's body is different. If you notice good gains off of it then go for it. You'll learn what works best for YOUR body as time goes on and you continue to train. Just don't ignore your rear delts, you want a good symmetric physique.
Yea I hit those with dumbell rows, and adding the lateral shoulder raises for the sides.
Give this a try if you don't mind using cables for shoulders.  I love them for rear delts.

Ain't it the truth.

Got a great chest workout today.   Wound up at the gym a lot longer than I expected to as one of my home girls was talking my damn head off.

Definitely a nice way to finish out the year.

For those who brought up ways to burnout the chest...dips dips dips.

I hit dips at the end of my chest workout and it has my pecs on fire.  Sometimes I'll hit pushups, but I like dips due to the way they hit your lower pecs, plus I'm not too big on decline bench press.
Got on the scale this morning and lost 4lbs since last monday weigh in

I ate horrible on monday and tuesday also.

I'm telling you bros writing down my macros changed my life for a lack of better words.

With all that said lets all bring in 2013 and continue to reach our goals. I'm officially down around 55lbs since starting my new lifestyle in march/feb of this year, I went from 230 to 175 as of this morning. I only want to lose about 10 more pounds and then start putting some lean mass on. Good luck to everyone on here wether you post or just lurk, and always remember, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE

That's what it's all about.  What would you estimate your bodyfat at?  Putting on mass now wouldn't hurt, especially if your diet is on point.  You should have no problem burning whatever extra BF you may have.

I'm ready for 2013 bros.  My resolution is going to be to get in this thread as much as I'm in the shoe threads.

Great motivation reading this thread on a daily basis.

welp i was wrong...I'm going in lol. ugh motivation videos are going to be the death of me lol. Once my mind gets fixed, and I start thinking about how bad I want it...well..I have to go lol. I'll get some arms in, maybe a little cardio. Then get cleaned up and get ready for tonight.

Thanks bro, if I were to guess I would say 14-15% but I'm not sure if I am being hard on myself or not hard enough (pause) with that guess. I would like to get down to 9 or 10% and start upping my calories and macros.
