STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Looking for new workout shoes. Thinking metcon or hypercross

Depends what type of workouts you are doing really.

I would say Metcon's if you mostly do things like squats / deadlifts / oly lifting. Oh and CrossFit

Hypercross if you plan on doing more running and drill based workouts. I personally find them a bit too soft for heavy lifts etc.

Think I just hit my "I'm officially fat" realization point fellas.

Was getting ready for an interview, and realized I couldn't fit not nan nada of my slim suits smh. I knew I was putting on some Lb's and started copping SZ 38...but can't even really fit those. Used to just throw em on like sweatpants, and now struggling to close the button. This is crazy.

I'm 25. Decent athlete but kinda lazy. Most of my cardio came from hooping. Haven't hooped in months though. Recently, my back has been flaring up a lot after hooping. Tried p90x in college but never stuck with it. Mainly because I didn't have all the equipment, and was making up excuses. I know I have to change up my eating habits first.

Any advice on easing into a solid workout routine?

So i know this is a general question but I need help to get on a lifestyle change both eating and working out. Anybody have any tips on starting out?
Don't say you'll start monday. Say you'll start now and do it.

Calories in <Calories Out.

just make smarter choices and do your best to make your food instead of buying from fast food places.

Meal Prepping helped me out and is still helping me.

Whatever the WOD recommends.

WOD GAWDS
what is the wod?

Don't he a hypebeast, all you need is Frees, Roshes or Flyknits. Remember to pull out the J's on arm day.
roshes suck man. It gives me no grip when I'm benching. Or when I'm doing any type of pressing motion. I still wear my jays but find them very uncomfortable. How's the flyknits? They seem pretty good. But I like the hypercross cause I have a tendacy of pushing my front end of my foot into the ground rather than planting the whole foot. I'm working on it and it helps me with my presses

Get a training shoe for the gym if it bothers you that much. I use Flyknits for everyting unless I squat, I have adidas Powerlifts for that. Heavy DL I just take my shoes off and go barefoot. I use AM90's, really anything. Shoes only affect Olympic type lifts.

Free Trainer 5.0's are nice.

WOD is stupid term to describe your workout of the day, it's the destroyer of all the cliche "Leg Day" memes floating on the internet. Isolation excercises are key to your development, get some flyknits for the most explosive excercise you'll ever do... aka body weight bench press, max reps.

Also, remember to get that spot reducing program from a couple of members that have been training for a long time.

Don't worry about being on the balls of your feet, just claim you have a previous sports injury. Best cop out for lack of mobility, ROM and not wanting to take the time to fix it or work on it.

Converse All Stars. Srs.

wavycrocket wavycrocket don't think about losing weight. Get on a barbell program and set goals to hit a certain amount of weight with reps and sets. Start with a general program for lifting and diet and keep refining until the it's a lifestyle you can live. I don't even think about going to the gym to exercise like a chore. I think about how to get stronger. you won't get lazy and miss gym when you want to stay strong and keep getting stronger

We have a 30 day plank challenge at work....

Never really messed with planking much, but I'm over 3:00 after 3 days. My goal is to get over 5:00, but we'll see how it goes.

Man i cant plank for crap anymore. I can do like 1:20-30 now.

used to be able to do 3 minutes before. Thats what helped me with my abs 2 years ago doing them multiple times a day for minutes.

idk how to improve it right now

Anyone ever try pes select protein?

Its good brah. I really like the chocolate.

snickerdoodle is overrated IMO. It was good for a lil but i got sick of it real quick. Everyone on BB OBSESSED over it.

I bought cookies and cream but it was meh, never cared for that flavor to begin with.

Havent tried Blondie but id assume it would be good.
