This. I can't stress enough how crossfit is, for all intents and purposes, a sport more than a training style. The idea of going HAM on crossfit workouts to either get bigger or lean out is really misguided. Good crossfit athletes work on skills, conditioning, and regression most of the week and then push all-out crossfit work to prep for competition.

Trying to get in shape by doing heavy technical lifts to exhaustion could either get you hurt right away, or somewhere down the line. And it might yield some results at first but not long-lasting.

I would find a strength and conditioning facility to train at, or find a crossfit box that offers some 1 on 1 coaching with experienced instructors if you're really interested in the sport of crossfit. If you just want to get in shape, just start reading, researching and iust get in the gym and do what you're comfortable with in the meantime.

You are right, and at the same time you really don't know what you are talking about.

Single now but this was IMPOSSIBLE when I was with my ex. All she ate was junk and eating is such a social activity. It's one thing to turn down friends and stuff occasionally when you're cutting. It's a whole different animal to turn down your girl EVERY day :lol: I feel your pain.

Of course the "savages" in this thread have never had any issues doing anything so they won't be able to relate

Just recently got out of a year+ relationship. I always did my thing. It's really not that hard, you just have to make smart choices when you're put in tough situations. Meal prep and having a girl that understands makes things way easier.

I'd never date a girl that isn't somewhat about that fitness lifestyle and doesn't like sports.
 
Funny because ever since I've been with my shorty, I do go the gym rarely as much or work out. Sucks man..I just don't have the motivation since I already got the girl and I pretty much only worked out to get broads :lol:

Need motivation man..miss being a active and fit. Went from 6 pack to just a skinny stomach smh

:rofl: nah I'm still crazy fit man. Just lost a lot of size. Imma get back on it. Had a good run eating whatever I wanted this winter

Also what are some good weighted ab workouts that can hit me real good

I'm trying to sexy my legs up for the summer too. My joints is looking like cricket bats right now. How can I shape up my calves

Never understood people's fascination and soap box stance regarding the kip. The kip is the devil but lack of ROM is ok

Not even going to touch the guy who didn't want to go in the crossfit section if his gym because they drop weights,:lol:.

Actually interested in a discussion. Don't care about the opinions of the riff raff in this thread. There are a few people that opinions I value, even though the perspective may not be the same.

I'm cool with crossfit. I get it, don't have a problem with it, just not consistent with my goals.

All I'm saying is when some someone is upside down, kipping off their head, it's going to raise some eyebrows lol

You're still not answering my question. Just being condescending. If you can criticize someone and explain why, I get it but to just be cryptic and snide just seems like trolling.

Pick any crossfit workout you want that's a known crossfit workout: Fran, Grace, 15.1, Filthy 50... You've got people watching this on the crossfit games or reading one article on it and running around a commercial gym trying to throw up Olympic lifts and heavy barbell work with no clue how to do it cause they think they'll look like Rich Froning at the end of it. That's what I'm referring to, not "crossfit bashing".

You have your craft, and formed your opinion on a handful of benchmark workouts.

If you misguided your clients who asked you for your opinion them that's some real life trolling. I'm just basing it off your words I quoted. You may know what you are doing and it seems like you are a successful PT. However your opinion on CF is biased and uninformed. You did it once again with your recent response. I'm on my cell so I'll explain tomorrow. Lol.
 
that handstand push-up is not even that bad. and speaking of xfit, we got 25# bumper plates at work so i was doing thrusters to warm up for heavy squats and i ripped my boxers. forgot my "squat undies" (briefs) at home and i guess the boxers were too tight :lol:
