STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

I consume 1-2L of coke zero everyday as well. Seems to be ok with me. It will be cut out when I'm 6 weeks out tho, so I try to enjoy it while I can.
Define ok?
Body fat dropping and muscle staying put, ahead of schedule for where I want to be. Contest prep is no joke. When your literally starving on a daily basis and add training on top of the low carbs. Anything to satisfy the hunger pains. When your going for extreme low levels of body fat, its far from healthy to begin with. And artificial sweeteners  DO NOT effect fat burning.

2 Liters per day for 2 years. On some days I'd go 4 Liters if I'm out all day

I know I'm obeast but damn you need to cut that out son.

You do know there are other parts of maintaining a healthy body than the the things you listed right?

YOU have probably increased your chances of becoming diabetic. No way for you to say it didn't negatively effect you at all man

I believe in my previous post I said I'm sure I'd pay for it later, and I've cut it out since last week. Right now I am fine.
But I am wondering how you figure you are fine. What does fine mean. That is the most ambiguous condition in the world

lol even still. a weekend here and there hardly = 2-4 liters of pop a day.

That sounds like a problem. like an addiction.
Absolutely an addiction. Even though my body composition on the outside seems fine and good, it's one of those things that's just too good to be true so I decided to cut it out.

Don't want to be paying for it down the line. Turned 24 this year and already feel like some of the things I could get away with when I was 21 is taking a toll on me

Resistance bands meets compression clothing. Interesting product

Many of you probably know the feeling you get when you only have 30 minutes to squeeze in a run between work and a dinner meeting, but you’ve drank enough coffee to keep going for miles. RXACTIVE  has a solution.

The company launched an Indiegogo campaign yesterday  for its activewear with built-in resistance, and far surpassed its funding goal of $30,000 within the first day.

Founders Frank Yao, an NYU med student, and Keeth Smart, a former Olympic fencer, initially designed RXACTIVE as a tool to help patients with unhealthy living habits reach a minimum baseline of fitness so that they could start exercising regularly.

They soon realized that a massive group of fitness freaks in the U.S. would be a far better target market. The two have since been working with a team of doctors at NYU, as well as former NBA Commissioner David Stern (one of their advisers), to turn the technology they developed into a product that athletes want to wear.

“Our clothing is specially designed with elastic panels that are placed to counteract target muscle groups,” says Yao. “We’ve positioned elastic panels opposite those muscles, so that more effort has to be generated to make the same movements.”

Essentially, it’s like having built-in resistance bands in your leggings. Like a high-tech take on ankle weights.

We’ve seen this before with Sketchers Shape-Ups and Reebok EasyTone shoes, which became somewhat of a fad back in 2010 before they tanked, resulting in lawsuits  andmass refunds.

“Not only did these products not work, but research came out showing that they were harmful,” says Yao. “They messed with tendons and joints at the foot, and as a result people stopped using them.”

To avoid this, RXACTIVE has tested their clothing extensively to make sure it won’t cause injury. When running with REACTIVE products, athletes demonstrated a 23 percent increase, on average, in hamstring and quadriceps activation. They also increased their heart rate by 8 percent on average, and burned 14 percent more calories.

“We use resistance bands in the rehabilitation hospital constantly, we tie them to different things, they’re all over the floor so much that it almost becomes a tripping hazard,” says Dr. JR Rizzo, an instructor at the NYU School of Medicine and adviser to RXACTIVE. “Being able to integrate them into a wearable form factor is fantastic, and will really revolutionize high performance training.”

RXACTIVE says the first products will ship to Indiegogo backers before Thanksgiving, and they plan to sell their compression shorts and leggings starting around $120 per pair after the campaign finishes.

And no way for YOU to tell me it DID/ HAS negatively affect me. Obviously there are other perimeters for overall "health". Do what fits best for you. Everyone is different.  It just depends on your overall goals in life. If you want to live to be 100 y/o and in great health, obviously anything processed is not good. I don't care how fast I can run a mile or how my stamina is. I am prepping for a Bodybuilding show and have prepped several people myself who have done great. As long as water is 1-2 gallons a day. Diet drinks and crystal light are bonuses and do not count toward the overall fluid intake for the day.

I never once said it did negatively effect you. I simply said that there is no way for you to say NOTHING about you was negatively effected.

You don't know because you aren't looking at EVERYTHING

Ok, so what else would you look at from your prospective to define if someone is healthy or not? blood work? hormone levels? fitness tests?

All of those things you named. I damn sure would get my liver and kidneys checked out.

My father is diabetic. I would tell you to see a diabetic specialist and see where you stand.

Didn't mean to come down on you but he used to always tell me that he was FINE. And fine for most people simply means I don't think I am in danger.of a serious health risk.

But cut that **** out man. Forreal.

I am addicted!! not to diet drinks, but to working out. If I miss a day or a workout I fill like crap the whole day. The only time I drink 1-2L of diet drinks is when i'm in a severe caloric deficit. It helps with the hunger pains for me.

All of my labs are all in good ranges. I get everything checked out by my Dr. several times a year and also take supps for liver and kidney health as well.

No offense but there isn't something else you could eat or drink to meet your #s? That is a wild reason to drink THAT

The diet drinks are not to meet macros. Simply used to control hunger. When your weighing every single meal for months on end it gets very boring and tedious. Some diet drinks on top of my numbers have no ill effect on me. Now, as I get closer to show day (usually 4-6 weeks out) all artificial sweeteners are cut out because some can cause water retention use. It not like i'm drinking a 2L everyday for months on end guys. But for a month or two I see no problems. Is it optimal for overall heath? Absolutely not, but doing anything to the extreme is not good for you in the long run.

guess what happens to the guy who only drinks water and the one who drinks diet soda?

they both end up in the same place
