God bless you soul. Ish was magic in my mouth (IDC how it sounds). Like its not even fair.Quest cookies and cream has taken a dirt nap in my eyes b. Hold this rep

Cliff camp over here. They just dropped a mint one. :pimp:

Does anyone else have a terrible time progressing at bench? I've added 45 pounds to my fly in the time I've added 10 to my bench.

IMO bench press is a tricky thing. I went from benching 275 comfortably to now being able to barely do sets of 185. I feel like bench is one of the main exercises with the saying "use it or lose it"
and form form form. is all important

11am-1pm is usually when I go to my gym. Went at 430 today and it felt weird

I go at 5am when gym opens espeically on chest / leg days; try to get there before people start hogging the squat rack / power cage; save money on street parking too; dont have to feed the meters until 8am here in nyc

I wake up at 4/5 am every morning. Only reason. I dont go that early is because i like to have atleast a meal or 2 before going

I usually only have time for a banana or a bowl of cereal before I work out. Case in point: I just woke up. I should already be at the gym, cuz I have work at 3. Yikes.

I did at first as well, you do cardio correct? That def helps.

Also, try to change your set ammount for instance if you do 5x5 change it to 3x8

Tdog and black intellect.

I do bench 2-3 times a week. I do 2 days on one rest day and repeat. Alternating bench on my on days. Working on widening up my grip for less distance to travel.

What I do now is start at 3x8 and work up the reps and once I can do a 3x12 I throw on another 10 pounds and start back at 3x8. Sometimes I do pyramids too starting at 135 ending at 190. Idk it just feels like I'm not making progress.

I did start doing more cardio too. 2 miles at a brisk pace to keep the metabolism up since I'm done working and I'll get fat if I keep my diet up with no cardio. Just curious why does it help bench?

Cliff bars are fine for me. I eat a lot of real food. I just have to eat every hour or I'm hungry so I just choke down a bar when I'm in a hurry and know I don't need a full meal.

y'all realize you're putting trash into your body when you eat a cliff builder bar?

No offense but you make it seem like they eat these for each meal.

2-3 times a week is too much bro. Youre doing more than just 3 sets on flat bench though right? Thats all you mentioned you do

That's just flat. I don't do incline with the bar I just grab some Dumbbells.

So yeah I just do 3 sets on the flat or else I do pyramids. 8@135 6@145 5@155 so on and so forth.

So only do bench once a week? I can't do it more than twice anyways because it's just counter productive. I'm too sore and weak back to back chest days is a no go.

That's cool. .. why dont u barbell incline? if i feel like I'm not making progress i switch things up. Do more db work if im doing a lot of bb, or vice versa. Lower weight, increase reps or vice versa. Mix in different accessory work outs too. Or maybe focus on incline work to start when im strongest and finish with flat, if i usually start with flat.
Whatever works... i just think 3x a week is OD, unless yourr a freak or take things to allow the muscle breakdown process to accelerate. 1 to 2x is koo, but everyones body and goals are different
