I think cutting meat (haven't had any since early November) and avoiding gluten/wheat/dairy to the best of my abilities has messed with my strength. Yeah, I'm losing weight but I'm struggling with lifts that I would warm up with a couple of months ago. My bodyweight exercises are moving along nicely, though.

I'm assuming you're eating a lot of fish for protein. What other foods did you eat for protein?

I'm thinking about giving up meat for lent this year and going vegetarian....but I'm doing my research to figure out how to make up the protein deficit.

Nah, I don't even eat fish anymore. Before the change, my protein was for the most part boneless and skinless chicken breast, salmon, peanut butter sandwiches, ground turkey/beef and occasional shrimp. My protein now comes predominantly from almonds, beans, lentils, corn and chickpeas. I'm probably not getting as much protein as when I was eating meat. I would usually have something along the lines of rice and corn with a piece of salmon and other vegetables for a meal; now it's just rice and *insert vegetable*

The only non-dairy protein I've tried that doesn't have that nasty chalk feel of plant based protein. And it taste really good.
I thought I would try some plant based protein and bought a tub of RAW Meal. Tried it once and threw it in the trash. Terrible!

It was like drinking sand.

non-dairy is tough. maybe san raw fusion. got that for my wife and she likes making smoothies with that and fruit.

i don't like the fillers because it skews the actual protein count. the 23 grams on the label might be much less in your powder.
