STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

What lifts do y'all use wrist straps for and why do you use them?

I see the point of them for getting extra reps but at the same time I've always thought if ya can't grip it then get your grip strength up, then get the extra reps.

I got these joints.

I only use them for deadlifting.

Helps me pull the weight

There are a bit more benefits than just handling heavier weight.
( its def not as simple as saying get your grip strength up)

I've tried for months to get my grip up and it isn't gonna happen. I got some nerve damage in my right hand that makes it weak it's noticeably smaller. I'm over it. I do dl fine then go to do shrugs and can't even shrug without the bar slipping thanks to my dj Paul hand giving out. My back is far stronger than my hand will ever be able to lift.

I switch to mixed usually by my third set on dl and can barely get out two more sets. It just isn't gonna happen. I've tried my best.

Thanks for the recommendations so far.

does anyone else have a stigma against lifting gloves?

I don't know if its because everyone i see wearing them is a dad bod or if i think about all the pain you put your body through while lifting/working out but you don't want calluses? Like you can damn near get crushed by 405lbs on a squat and throw up after your set from working out too hard but...your hands...they can't get roughed up...that would be no good

To me theyre also like a sense of security. Or mentally puts you in a mindset. Like once i put on these gloves. Ima lift heavy. (I havent used gloves consistently since like 2008) mainly because im more confident without them now.

My hands too soft and delicate to not wear gloves :wow:. If I don't wear em they get torn up

No gloves or straps for me. Only thing I'll use is chalk because my palms get real sweaty word to Eminem.

Other than that, I love the calluses. When a chick touches your hand>>>>

I used to wear gloves. Haven't in 2 years and now that I've been DL a lot more my girl complains about my f ed up hands. Oh well lol.

I just feel more connected with the weight. I have been debating about gloving it with DL though

I never wear gloves. My hands have been jacked up before lifting. No need for me. I just want straps because I think I've reached my limit on a straight bar. Hex bar is another story. But I'm trying to keep using a regular bar.

When you guys wear gloves do they match your purse or no?

JK bros, I wear every accessory but them.

I don't knock anyone for wearing gloves, but they just don't feel right to me.

There are only 3 situations where I wear gloves: riding my motorcycle, during EMT shifts, and shoveling snow.

i don't use straps or gloves but my hands are still pretty smooth because our barbells and dumbbells are so old, there's no knurling on them anymore :smh: :frown:

Ima take these gloves off, the ladies better not complain when im rubbin on they mass and frayin them spandex:smokin

Dont worry, theyll be too distracted by your massive muscles and strength levels to take too much about your man-hands.

They wont miss your baby boy body and petite feminine hands when youre carrying her mass around the room on your shoulder trying to find the best spot to get things clapping.
