STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

That picture is you? You look like you should be able to bench way more than 205
Yup and I wish man. My shoulders were bad. Had the anterior tilt going so bench was painful. Strengthened my back a lot more and rolled the shoulders out. All good now so it's time to get the bench #s up.

Apparently by that pic I gotta "get my weight up" though lol

Edit: hope you not talking about the pic above lol. I really mean a sneaker thread. Not this thread

Glad you got the shoulders squared away. How did you go about doing so?

A lot of BB'ers and PL'ers take shoulder health for granted. Strengthening the cuffs and balancing the push/pull ratios, while maintaining motion in the glenohumeral is super important.

That calf "cramp" I had a week or so back...took a couple days off, relaxed, stretched a lot, foam rolled a lot. Pain was gone. Thought I had healed. Felt no pain whatsoever the past four or five days. I've been going hard in the gym as I was before.

Ended up tearing the muscle this morning during Boot Camp (on my first Burpee). Just went and saw a Dr. and he confirmed that the muscle in the calf is a Stage 2 tear (there's 3 stages). I can barely walk, I can't imagine a Stage 3. I now have to wear a boot for two weeks and can't do any exercising on my legs for two weeks (though I work on my feet for 12-13 hours a day and end up walking nearly 15 miles a day at work) and it could six to eight weeks before I'm back doing Burpees, sprinting or anything else strenuous on the legs.

Super pissed off. At myself and the situation. Was finally making progress in shedding some fat and getting back in a good routine. Have never been sidelined this long.

What can I do to still burn fat without using my legs? I'm thinking in a week, I'll probably be able to hit the stationary bike or maybe a Spin class or the pool but that won't be for a week or two.

Suggestions? Comments.

Wow. Tearing your calf on a burpee! Talk about a freak accident!

Hard to do much without your legs.

There's always the bench press, pull ups, toe to bars, sit ups

Try to keep your caloric intake under control. That's it.

Maybe you can even row if you can avoid plantar flexing your calf

Yeah. The Dr. said that the calf was never fully healed from the initial tear (which was nowhere near as bad as it is right now). As I jumped out for the burpee, I heard it tear and as soon as I came down, I was done. It was wild, sucked.

Thanks for the advice.

Na y'all lol sorry about the confusion. Re read my post I was talking about something different. Not that huge dude in the mirror

Lol yea I thought you meant that was you in the royal 1s. I haven't seen your pic then lol. Buddy above looks like he can bench like 275 easy . If my mans was trying to clown the Royal 1s pic shame on him. And shame on whoever tried to clown you too, keep doing your thing bro :pimp:

Yea I strengthened my rotator cuffs. Then I started really working my back. Doing dumbbell rows and making sure the shoulder stays back and not let the shoulder travel forward. Also doing some fascia work. @JPhysique has a good video and I followed it. Did wonders

Yeah I've done some of the same to try and strengthen my shoulder girdle. I'm pretty hypermobile so I need to stabilize quite a bit. Still working on it.

Letting your shoulder protract a little during the negative of rows is okay as long as you're scapula is gliding along your rib cage correctly. This video is super helpful:

Anybody has issues with the wrist wraps being too tight?  Yesterday, my thumb got jacked because of having the wrist wrap too tight.

I'm starting to wonder how tight is it supposed to be?

I didn't think there's been a drastic change in my appearance lately

I still look the same in the mirror to me

Until yesterday someone guessed my weight and thought I was 180

Lol

Keep in mind I'm 5'4

That boosted my ego a bit

Unless she low key thinks I'm fat

Maybe I'm just fat now

Going to start throwing up everything I eat

Repped for the tip bro. Gonna try that out

Yeah, that's me in that pic with the Royals. I was just getting a Post Malone vibe every time I looked in the mirror last night.
