STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Wish there was some sort of powerlifting gym in ATL. I have to do deadlifts at LA Fit which means no dropping weight and no deadlift platforms...
I think there's a few. Look up CNtrainingcenter.com

There's a bunch of them..

You can just join a Crossfit gym only for the Oly portion of the gym which will be cheaper.

Did dips without added weight today, was knocking them out like nothing

Bart Kwan is sick. I've been watching his videos since my highschool days (2007)

Barbell Brigade looks like an awesome powerlifting gym to hit up. Bradley Martyn frequents there as well

Fellas I've lost my mojo. Just don't have the motivation anymore. I'm in a funk right now. I'm currently 196 at 6 ft 2. I feel focused like I used to. Help!

You mean 8 plates per side? Thats strong as ****. name?

I wonder what his form was like :rolleyes
I don't know his name. His form was fine. It's a powerlifting/strongman oriented gym...

Yeah 8 plates a side. I'm new there so I'm slowly learning dudes names. It wasn't a real contest. Just 3 dudes going at it.

Los campeones search the hashtag on ig. Some beasts in there.

Making any kind of change requires some degree of internal "want". You need to find a reason, a COMPELLING reason to do it for yourself or at the very least for others that will hold you accountable in some way.

Practice some self-awareness and ask yourself questions like "What's stopping me working out/eating right? What ******** am I feeding myself?". Really identify how important it is for you to hit the gym and break your funk and be real with yourself as to what it is you want to achieve because not everybody is in the gym to look the guy on stage or an IG model. Maybe what's holding you back is thinking you need to be "this" when really you'd be happy being "that".

The one thing I preach to others and constantly to myself is to just go DO IT. Your body is capable of doing anything, especially jumping in a car, driving to the gym, and moving some weight. It's the self-defeating thoughts or trash excuses you're feeding yourself that has you in a funk. If all else fails, and logically you KNOW you want/need to do something just start doing and let the mind/motivation/emotional grit/etc catchup. Otherwise you'l just be asking for help all the time and that gets you nowhere without action.

Think of all the time you put in the gym and if you stop now you just wasted it. All the time for nothing.

Ppl shouldn't be begging others to help you find motivation. Either you have it or you don't.
Come on man, what is this thread beside **** measuring if it isn't to help each other when we feeling down/needing help.

He's kind of right though. Like yeah I want us all to do good and make progress in whatever goals we are trying to make but you're going to have a tough time if you aren't self motivated.

What helps me is thinking of the future. Like whatever, I'm only pulling x amount now on a dl but one day I'll be pulling a lot more but you won't get there if you don't commit to it. Also the progress keeps me interested.

I think for a lot of us it's a hobby and we enjoy it. Try and make it fun, not a chore.

Motivating is one thing....to want something is another thing.

In here we can say all the positive things we want but at the end of the day its up to that person to take action

When motivation dwindles do something else. After lifting with your typical bodybuilding routines for years i felt that way. Some of these power lifting routines really are a lot of fun. Watching guys my size move monstrous weight really gets me re-energized to go in the gym. People criticize cross fit (for good reason in my opinion given the threat of injury) but try it you might like doing it once or twice a week. Play a sport or join a league of some kind. Some times you get stuck in the mundane and just need a change

If all else fails just take a pre-work out. Instant motivation

Cardio in the gym is so boring and not interesting man

Thinking about getting a bike and just cycling to the gym instead of driving it's about 2.5 miles away one way, that should be enough cardio right?

that should be like 10 mins... make cardio by doing drills. or just put a tv app on your phone.

I think he just need a bit of a pep talk .. maybe realize things he hasnt realize. (sort of what your post just did for him)

Yea bc people don't ask for that in here.

And you wonder why no one takes the crossfitters seriously smh

I thought your sport was about community

I was going to log it with my buddy but I'm not tech savvy so I just have a note in my phone  Started the 31st, at 75 today. Going to shoot for another 50 or so tonight.

You doing these 50's and 75's unbroken ?

Being in a crossfit environment is great but you're not putting yourself in that environment unless you're self motivated in the first place.

And if you join a crossfit community because someone else is telling you to do it, it's much less likely to work out.
