STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Another one :pimp: I bet you could hit 350 with the reps you're doing.

I took a little longer rest before my last set and it felt easier than i anticipated.

If only my deadlift was progressing like everything else

My dl hit a wall too. Do the Ed coen thing bro. It's 10 weeks and just a back day program. I've got my first week done and it's supposed to add 40 pounds or so to your max.

How's your bench? For me it's my DL that keeps going up but my bench is very slow. And squat I'm still on break from because of the hips. Been doing a lot of squats with kettle bells though to keep the ATG form

My bench is pretty good, Im doin 240. Ive been adding 2.5 each side on my last set or 2 past few times. Just the last chest day i was building up to try and get a new PR.

Im only deadlifting 295 which personally is a little disappointing. Ive been increasing but ive been more cautious with the increments. I dont wanna go too heavy all of a sudden and hurt my back then im really outta commission. I think i may be able to get 3plates in 2 or 3 more DL days.

Edit: ive also been doin 2 sets of 5 close grip bench after my regular bench. I feel like its helped with my regular bench along with db bench (flat and incline)

Db front raises
Db lateral raises
Military press (ive been doing it seated but tried standing today. Gonna stick with standing from now)
Upright rows
Shoulder shrugs with barbell :smile:lol i kno i kno)

Sometimes i work in db shoulder press if military press isnt available. Im doing 3sets of 8

Whats wrong with bb shrugs?

I asked about shrugs a while back and some members said i was better of doing snatch and cleans. Basically said theres a limitation to how much shrugs will improve ur traps. I just dont go to a gym thats big enough or equipped well enough for those olympic type lifts or else id give em a go.

there's nothing wrong with db shrugs. its a great trap workout. i'd say 90% of the people i see in the gym doing db shrugs dont know how to do them properly.

they either roll their shoulders, use their arm, lift too heavy, or they have the db in the front of their body which goes back to lifting too heavy.

im not saying snatches are bad either, though.

I can't remember what my instructor said exactly but he was adamantly against DB shrugs. I really don't remember why, I just remember him saying "you lift heavy weights don't ya?! You get your trap workout re-racking the weights all day. No need to do shrugs!!"

I'm sure there's nothing wrong with shrugs but I don't do them because this dude drilled it into me not to

You don't have to do snatxhes and cleans..

Snatch grip pulls, clean grip pulls. Deadlifts and Farmer carries will get you there

Not bad. Better than me on bench. I bet you can pull 3 plates easy

I've been doing shrugs with my bb lately and I have to save my right trap has caught up rather quickly . Resistance bands also helped too.

Dude at my gym pulled 615 DL today. Good lawd

How much does he weigh?
Can't tell you exact but I'm starting to get to know him. He joins in with the rest of the guys I'm gonna start DL with.

He's like 5'9 and is pure solid muscle. Don't think it's natty either but not judging. Physique is next level and I never see him doing cardio. Poor guessing I'd say 220???
