STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Man farmers walks have drastically improved my grip I love them now. I do em at the end of back/biceps day and I walk out feeling like Popeye.

What are yalls shoulder workouts looking like? I'm working with 5x12 at 70% 1rm of:

Arnold press
DB lateral raise
DB front raise
Incline DB press
OHP
Med ball tosses
Plyo push-ups
Heavy bag punching
Standing military press followed by wide and close grip upright rows. Machine shrugs superset with behind the back barbell shrugs. Bwood put me onto face pulls and I've been burning out with those. I don't spend a huge amount of time on shoulders they get hammered on chest and back days anyways.

I dedicate a whole day to them because I am trying to be as wide as a door frame.

I personally like seated OHP depending on the setup over standing because it putts less stress on the lower back... but standing is probably superior overall.

When I first started lifting I used to just grab 135 off the bench press rack and hold it in the shrug position for like 10-20 seconds at a time. Got me pretty jacked now that I think about it

Not hitting shoulder is just like not hitting abs.

sure your abs and shoulder get hit while doing other exercises, but they're always going to be better if you hit them on their own too.

You really don't need to hit abs outside of your main lifts if you eat right. Crunches and **** will never get you abs although I do planks and **** randomly watching tv at night just because I'm bored.

How much are you guys OHP?

I'm maxing out now at 2 reps of 60lb DBs
I personally think DB OHP is a lot harder than any other DB exercise, depending on the bench I'm using its hard to get them kicked up into position.

I hit shoulders tonight and did seated OHP 235x3x5 245x4 245x3 225x6 drop set to 135x10, then moved on to DBs 80x12 90x12 100x8 80x12, then all the other raises and shrugs etc.

yeah, that is just not true

obviously you have to have low enough body fat to see your abs...

but to act like working your abs directly won't improve how they actually look is ridiculous

I burn out with 90s after standing military presses if I have extra time to kill but I'm not a fan of seated anything for shoulders. I try to minimize my time at the gym and there's better movements imo that's how I blew out my shoulder actually behind the neck seated bb presses.

You want to compare abs kiddo? Are you serious?

Is this free weight with the bar?  Or on the stan smith machine.

I barbell ohp 135-155 depending on the day then do uni lateral db shoulder press with 60s. Then a bunch of other stuff.

Team no abs btw except like twice a month.

I started doin abs maybe a couple months ago. I cant spend more than 15min doin it tho. I do some standing elbow to knees and bicycle crunches after cardio.

I dont really care about having a 6pack necessarily, although it would be nice, im just tryna strengthen all muscles. Esp for later in life cuz a weak core is 1 reason for back problems.

I hate hitting abs just because it takes so much volume to do any damage. But yea it's pretty silly to say hitting them directly doesn't make a difference . When I really wanna get ripped I do bicycle crunches for 200 150 and 100 seconds

I do about 3 sets of hanging leg raises at the end of each workout. Pretty much does nothing cause the volume's so low

Imo your core is everything. It's the main reason I've refused to strap a belt on. You work from the inside out not the reverse. Your core is literally everything. imo if you can't lift it without a belt you can't lift it period because you're talking about ego lifts and competition instead of listening to your body. This isn't any shade on anyone but if you can't lift it stop looking for ways you can shorting other crucial body parts.

Word u right. I was talkin to this lady i used to work with that does bodybuilding competitons and she was getting on me bout neglecting my core. She was saying the same thing, that its the foundation. She told me either do 15/20min a day or once a week but go really hard with it. Im liking the 15min everyday option.

I know people love when durden comes in here to talk down on people but in real life he looks like ****. If anything listen to old lee priest interviews where he demolishes anybody trying to make money off lifting heavy objects. Guess what? if you consistently lift a heavy object over and over your body adapts and you get stronger and you get bigger. This ain't rocket science. I need to stop drinking but Jesus ain't nothing but protein and pre workout talk for kids that have never tosses 3 plates on the bench.
