STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

for cutting weight, should i do cardio before or after lifting?

i've heard im supposed to get my heart rate up with cardio first and then lift immediately after but i have also heard the opposite.

If you can, do your cardio on its own day, or part of the day. (morning weights, cardio in the evening)...another way is to do determine how many calories you want to burn and split it up between before and after. I would do most after workout.

Strong first post. I do cardio in the morning and weights in the late afternoon.

any good juicing recipes NT?
I've made this a few times.  With some modifications.  Pretty tasty, despite the amount of greens.

You're usually good to go as long as you have some kale and/or spinach in there.  Toss in a few apples, some celery, carrots, and beets.  I have a book laying around somewhere that I'll try and find later when I get off from work/back from the gym.

Herman is a big time douche, but I can't front on dude's chest game...it's super on point.

And thank you to everyone who has given me advice. Seems like taking this week off and really helped my lower back strain (I believe). Closer to 100%.

I do the same thing, except double steak, pico, guac, lettuce. No rice or beans for me
Burrito bowl, brown rice, black beans, half chicken half carnitas, mild, corn, cheese and lettuce for me.

Do you guys make your protein shakes with milk or water? I got the large package of muscle milk to save money. I know it is far from the best but I cant stomach whey protein or anything like that. Anyway I made it with water and it tasted nothing like the prepackaged ones. It says to use water on the package though.

Personally I use water...milk isn't a friend of mine, but I can **** up cheese without any restraints :smh:

On another whey related topic, I was working at the FIT expo here in LA last weeekend, had a ton of samples at the show and ones I brought home...that cinnamon Dymatize, and ON graham cracker were amazing. I need those in my life :wow:

Had a great sesh, will return in a few hours with my girl at the gym.

This is interesting. I would like to see if anyone else has insight on this. I used to work out 6 days a week or so. I would be active every day. Cardio on rest days. But i wasn't seeing any actual gains. It probably had to do with not eating enough given how much i was working out. But i have noticed my chest getting a little bigger the past 3 weeks since i started a 2 day (actual rest) split. I may do light cardio and some abs on rest day but no more 4 mile runs trying to get under 32 mins.

I remember reading that your body grows on rest days. And when i heard that i was like well lets give this rest thing a try. I hate not being active since when i get off work all i want to do is relieve stress at the gym. But it has helped to take 2 days "off"

I mean, I used to do hard cardio (boxing) 6 days a week when I was a little younger, so my body doesn't fatigue as easily as some other people. Many people say cardio with weight training is counter productive, but I HAVE to get my cardio in and I hate not being active for most of the week because with the weightlifting and the cardio I can pretty much eat whatever I want (which isn't really dirty foods) and not get fat/gain weight. If you wanted to try a 6 day routine out again, you should try looking into Layne Norton's PHAT.

I use water as well, but will be using milk going forward to help me reach my calorie goals. Also, I will NOT be messing with whole milk...exclusively Rice Milk or Almond Milk. Regular milk can kick rocks

i don't know how you guys can't even fit a glass of skim milk into your macros
eff using water with protein :x

I come from a 2% family, it still gives ME the business, same with skim! I prefer to eat my calories in any event, but even with water, some of these proteinz are so damn good!

nah man. i can understand lactose intolerance but protein powder tastes great in milk and 1 cup of skim is only around 80 calories and has 8 grams of protein.

I always use water. But once in a rare occurrence, when I have almost milk I my fridge I make myself a shake. Sooooooo good.
