Dressing Better Vol 2.0

EAST COAST, TOO EARLY TO TALK ABOUT TRANSITIONAL PIECES?

I FEEL LIKE ITS WISHFUL THINKKNG FOR AN EARLY SPRING

That's true. I'm trying to squeeze it in for sure.
Road trip??
Lol. It's a 30 min drive from NoHo! If you want company I'll roll with if I'm free. Pics will be taken :pimp:

I knew that was coming...

I'd love company because I don't know everything that I should be asking about, so to have someone as informed as yourself rolling with me would help me out.

Speaking from my own aesthetics and taste

I want to challenge dbnt to think about incorporating denim jackets in a classic manner this spring

I see folks like Elkin kushdrygoods and RFX doin some magic

He meets up at 5PM on week days and early Saturday mornings. I can roll with you on Saturday. Can't on weekdays though because of work. Email him and let me know what date you pick to meet up, dude.

Staple layering piece Jon.
Yep.

You can use the denim jacket in lieu of a cardigan or sweats for a biz casual outfit and still be good.

Will try to rock an outfit like this Friday if urge of wearing basketball kicks isn't too strong.

REALLY CONTEMPLATING HACKING MY BEARD OFF.

ITS FUNNY WHEN SOMETHING BECOMES PART OF YOUR STYLE.

ALTHOUGH I MISS MY GOOD BOY HIGH AND TIGHT W DA 5 OCLOCK SHADOW.

MTM does not take into account the slight variations of your body. For example, MTM is just taking your measurements with a tape. While bespoke does the same, they also use tools that you would not normally see from an MTM fitting (which could be done at home, with no need of a tailor).

When I got fitted for my MAB shirt, they took a type of level against both of my shoulders including the my spine to determine the exact curvature. By doing so, they can compensate for the variations in my body shape (i.e. if one shoulder hangs lower) and adjust accordingly for a seamless fit. Along with that, most bespoke makers use higher end mills for their fabric selections like Holland & Sherry, Loro Piana, Dormeuil, etc. to make the suit.

Also, the canvassing techniques used will likely beat out MTM makers. I compare my TaT suits (MTM) against the MAB SS joint I picked up in August. They do not hold a candle in comparison..

Again, Sergio…chime in :nerd:

Quick 2 cents as I'm not home and at doctor's with wifey:
Bespoke has nothing to do with fabric although the more reputable the place the more reputable the fabrics they carry. For example some carry Holland & Sherry, Emernegildo Zegna while some may not carry any known fabric mill. Bespoke is about the measuring and fitting process. Like Adrian said with bespoke they account for nuances that typical measuring would not. For example using certain apparatus is to measure the slope of your back and your shoulders. Personalization can also be to the upteenth level as well.

Guy who owns TaT

Isn't it possible to go to higher end dept stores and get MTM suits? Don't some of the luxury brands offer this? I'm curious about this myself...

Yes. I think Nordtrom started a MTM program. Other places like Brooks Bros have on site tailors.

It will come at a markup compared to smaller names.

Regarding the bespoke talk, MTM is fine for most people as far as fit goes. There is a very small percentage of people who actually need to go bespoke to get a good fit and those are usually people like bodybuilders where proportions are not the norm.
